Versatile Mage : Reborn As Mo Fan

Chapter 154: Chapter 153: The Ashamed and Angry Mochizuki Chiyou

The third match, between Jiang Shaoxu and that Sakura female trainee who had argued with her earlier, was completely one-sided. Jiang Shaoxu dominated the fight from start to finish.

When facing a psychic mage, unless there's a significant difference in level, it's generally a matter of being utterly suppressed. And right now, how many people in the national team, let alone the regular squads, had even advanced to the high-tier level?

So, during their battle, Jiang Shaoxu used one psychic interference spell and immediately broke her opponent's defense. The Sakura trainee couldn't release any spells, and the outcome was obvious.

Jiang Shaoxu held her head high, with a proud expression. She didn't forget to say to the defeated trainee, "This is the difference between a national team member and a trainee. Don't compare us to those who lose to other countries."

Three consecutive victories, as arrogant as expected.

Although the Sakura team felt bitter, what could they do?

They were defeated, and there was no room for resistance. No matter what provocations they faced, they could only bottle up their frustration.

After the competition, everyone returned to their rooms to rest. Tomorrow, they would leave for Tokyo to undertake the trials arranged by their mentors.

Late at night, a high-ranking member of the Sakura Guards was walking slowly along the wooden corridor. He was holding a phone and carefully speaking to the person on the other end.

"I've recorded it. I'll send the battle information to you tonight. Unfortunately, they only sent three players to compete. If we could gather more information, it would be even more advantageous for our future matches," said the high-ranking guard.

"Takagi, your West Guard students are really disappointing. I've already heard about the matches from another subordinate. Your trainees didn't gain much before they were defeated," came a raspy voice from the other side of the phone.

Even Mochizuki Chiyou had lost, but according to the Sakura team, it was only because she had been careless. If she had taken things seriously from the start, how could she have been beaten so badly by Mo Fan?

They wanted to gather information on the strength of the Chinese national team, yet they couldn't admit that foreign mages could be so strong. Takagi's ugly face twitched with frustration.

"Enough about that for now. Is that damned Hida still refusing to talk?" asked the raspy voice on the other end.

"No, he still hasn't said anything," Takagi replied.

"Let him stay in the East Guard Fortress for a while longer. I want to see whether his resolve is stronger or the fortress's punishments are tougher."

Just then, Mochizuki Chiyou appeared, dressed in a kimono with a floral belt, her figure illuminated by the moonlight, making her appear even more alluring. Her hidden sensuality surfaced unintentionally, captivating anyone who saw her.

"It's late. Who were you talking to?" Mochizuki Chiyou asked with a soft smile, noticing Takagi's phone still lit up.

"Oh, just scolding a disobedient subordinate," Takagi quickly replied, cursing into the phone before hanging up.

Takagi then greedily eyed Mochizuki Chiyou and invited her, "How about joining me for a drink?"

"No, I'm going to rest," she smiled politely.

"Oh, okay."

Takagi, despite his lecherous thoughts, knew he couldn't afford to cross the Mochizuki family, so he turned and left. As he disappeared, Mochizuki Chiyou's gaze drifted toward the dark, looming fortress on the eastern mountain, her expression complicated.

"Are you really in there? Why are they imprisoning you?" she murmured softly to herself.

"If you're talking about Hida, then yes, he's in there," a voice suddenly said from behind her.

Startled, Mochizuki Chiyou turned around and found Mo Fan standing there. Her heart raced with surprise—she hadn't even noticed his presence.

Not only her, but even Takagi, who wasn't weak by any means, hadn't sensed Mo Fan's approach.

"How did you get here?" Mochizuki Chiyou asked, a little flustered.

"I came to find you," Mo Fan replied.

"Don't…!"

Recalling what had happened during the day, Mochizuki Chiyou felt a wave of fear. But before she could finish speaking, Mo Fan had already merged into the darkness, vanishing from her sight.

Shocked, she realized how powerful Mo Fan's shadow magic was. No wonder she hadn't noticed him earlier. Even now, as she kept her eyes on him, she couldn't sense his presence at all.

"What do you want?" Mochizuki Chiyou asked, her voice trembling slightly.

Mo Fan suddenly appeared behind her, one hand lifting her chin while the other wrapped around her waist. "Don't act so delicate. I liked you better when you were arrogant."

Mochizuki Chiyou was from the prestigious Mochizuki family and was far from being an ordinary girl. She had never been touched by any man, not even her hand.

"Baka!" she cursed angrily.

"Keep shouting, and I'll drag you out in front of everyone and beat you," Mo Fan threatened casually.

Her eyes widened. As the eldest daughter of the Mochizuki family, she couldn't afford such a disgrace.

"Don't push your luck. This is Sakura… I am from the Mochizuki family…" she tried to argue, her face flushing red with embarrassment as she noticed Mo Fan's bold hands.

"If you want to save that Hida guy, you'd better stop shouting," Mo Fan said coldly.

Mochizuki Chiyou froze.

"You heard everything?"

"Of course. And I can help you rescue him. You know the demands."

Mochizuki Chiyou struggled, shame and anger overwhelming her. "Baka! I want to save him, but what do you take me for?"

Slap!

Mo Fan's hand landed sharply, and it was clear how effective that move was.

Mochizuki Chiyou's magic surged, unable to accept the humiliation. But Mo Fan released her just in time, backing off with a shrug.

"Since you don't want my help, then forget it," Mo Fan said, turning to leave.

Mochizuki Chiyou was furious, her eyes burning with rage. She couldn't believe she had been treated like this. But saving Hida was her top priority.

Just as Mo Fan was about to disappear, she hesitated and called out, "Wait…"
