Vampires Legacy

Chapter 87: Unlikely Allies Part 2

Kakuto slams the ground, causing it to tremor with shockwaves that send them flying back. With a wave of her arm, Chisato freezes everything around her up to the brawny vampire, freezing him. But she knows that won't stop him. The Hunter follows up with a fiery horizontal slash spanning 20 feet wide. Before it can reach its target, he shatters the ice off him and disperses the fire. Locking eyes with the human, he lunges at him in one leap even though he was over 70 feet away. Kakuto unleashes punches that could instantly kill his enemy if landed. However, they're met with swings from the alter blade that put them on equal footing. The Hunter is a bigger-than-average man, but Kakuto is twice his size. This makes him an easy target, in between defending he's able to cut him where he's vulnerable periodically. The Hunter then swings an upward slash with blue flames, making him dodge to the right. This was to lead him into Chisato's attack. An ice blade is impaled into his side. Before she can freeze him again, he grabs her arm and tosses her away. The Hunter then pierces through his abdomen and sets him ablaze. Instead of removing the blade, he turns it inside of him and slashes out from his left side.

The civilians who were evacuated from the inn rush to their cars, driving off in the opposite direction of the battle, with their tires skirting, proving how much of a hurry they were in to get out of there. Patrick and Chloe now join the battle. Instead of just watching him burn, they each send an attack his way with the last being a bombardment of doll explosions, courtesy of Chloe. Now they watch.

The four hear a guffaw as a figure rises from the smoke. Kakuto emerges, seemingly unphased by their attacks.

"4 of ya ain't enough. To topple me, you need an army of 100,000! Even then, that might not be enough."

"This is him without his curse?"

"I told you. We have no chance of winning in a head-on battle. Once he activates his curse, we need to make a run for it."

"And then?"

"I'll put everything I have into one final attack."

Chloe realizes she won't do any damage with her normal attacks, so she begins pouring all of her curse blood into a massive attack that'll at least slow him down. Before they can go into the next phase of this battle, they need to force Kakuto to use his curse. The Hunter steels himself, preparing to go all out. Igniting his blade once more, he charges his foe. This time, he has no intention of defending. He intends to evade all of Kakuto's blows so his swings will carry more weight. Patrick and Chisato are there to assist him. Every few seconds, they throw in an attack that staggers him. That's when the Hunters lands a heavy slash. They're slowly chipping down at him, but even at this rate they'll get tired before he does.

"What's the matter?! I thought the 4 of us weren't enough to take you down?" Knowing how effective it would be, Chisato provokes him so that he'll activate his curse.

Veins pop on his forehead as he bites down on his lip in anger. It worked. Black veins appear on the right side of Kakuto's face that run all the way down to his hand. That's when Chloe launches her last move. A stampede of elephants stomps their way over to their target. Before she collapses, Patrick catches her as they all run after Chisato who instantly took off. She creates a makeshift ice car that they take off-road so they don't involve driving passerbys on their chase. Hopping in as fast as they can, they drive off in the vehicle powered by Chisato's curse. Looking back, they watch as the elephants are ripped apart turning into fluff.

"My babies…"

After finishing them all, Kakuto hurls boulders that he makes by just tearing the ground apart. His throws are so insanely accurate that Chisato has to swerve around them. But they can't escape. Right now, Kakuto is the fastest runner on Shioto. He sprints to them, destroying the ground under him with his steps. The sight of someone over 8 feet tall who's sprinting towards them at over 90 miles per hour is frightening. Chisato tells the Hunter to take the wheel so she can prepare for her final attack. She climbs to the top and pours out the rest of her curse blood into an ice bow and arrow while simultaneously being the car's fuel. Holding her stance aiming the bow at Kakuto, she's generating so much power that ice is flowing everywhere. This causes the other 3 to start slowly freezing, but they don't say anything. Within 15 seconds, Kakuto catches up to them.

The Hunter.

Patrick.

Chloe.

They watch as Kakuto towers over them.

At this moment, he's the spitting image of a monster.

His strength inspires fear.

Nonetheless, Chisato stares him down.

Point-blank, she fires off her arrow.

Halting Kakuto's charge.

The attack she landed was lethal. He writhes in pain having the bottom left side of his face and half of his torso gone, blood gushing out.

The Hunter slams on the brakes as the car begins to slowly melt. They continue their run on foot, with the Hunter and Patrick carrying Chisato and Chloe on their backs.

"Shouldn't we finish him off?"

"No! He can still kill us even like that. We need to get as far away as possible."

"You have my praise, Hakim. You were going head-to-head with that monster."

"Thanks."

Suddenly, a deafening roar pierces their ears.

"AHHHHHHHHH!! THAT FREAKIN BITCH. I'M TEARIN HER LIMB FROM LIMB. YOU BETTER HOPE I DON'T FIND YOU, CHISATO!!"

These unlikely allies disappear. More accurately put, they go into hiding. Nobody hears from them for some time after this.

Meanwhile, Akutenshi attacks the Hunter Academy.
