Chapter 1455: A Lost Arm Doesn't Matter
-----
The night didn't end even though the threat of the demons and their cultists was gone, as we worked together with Dylan, the Director, Teachers, and various Classmates into evacuating the people, healing the wounded, and also trying to repair the damage or look for anybody that got buried in the destruction.
Then, using my abilities and the help of others, we were able to reconstruct the entire arena, and in almost every building that got destroyed, I made sure to also reinforce them and the walls, and also create a new magical and spiritual formation within the walls for a stronger anti-invasion barrier.
This barrier has my own powers as its ingredients, so it was sure to work really well, and it could even be extra tough against demons as well, just to make sure this city never gets attacked like this ever again.
What happened to Dylan was indeed rather surprising, I had imagined a lot more hatred from people, but he was accepted again as their hero incredibly fast, I don't know if it was just because he had my backing, but it seemed that things stabilized much faster than I imagined.
After a tiring day of working nonstop, I dropped over my bed, inside my room within the manor we had purchased in this city for our entire group to live on, this is the place we bought back then when we first arrived in the academy, and it is where we would be staying for the rest of the year.
Elfriedden came and went using the gate I had placed behind our manor, but after helping in anything he could, he went back home and said he might not be able to return in a couple of days, which was fair.
"It sure was a tiring day, isn't it, master?"
Eleanora rested by my side, letting my head rest over her shoulders, as she caressed my head and occasionally kissed me.
"Yeah, it was… well, we ended spending more than one day out there, right?" I asked.
"Indeed, it was quite exhausting, especially for you… that battle against Dylan, and with Lucifer…" Eleanora said, remembering that battle.
"Yes, I am quite happy it happened, I was able to finally meet that bastard again and see just how strong he is compared to me," I said. "Although even then, he was just using a vessel, so I cannot completely tell his full power…"
"Even then, just that alone was quite strong, right?" Elenora asked.
"Yeah, well, I never imagined it would be easy, if even in my strongest form I lost, that means that I would have to surpass my previous life's strength several times more," I nodded. "I am in a good path to power, however. I simply need to continue leveling, raising my stats, training, leveling my skills, gaining new skills, and learning more of my inner abilities, while also further cultivating my Spiritual Cosmic Dragon Heart."
"I see, it seems that despite the difficulties you faced, you're the most eager to fight him again…" Eleanora said. "But about your arm…?"
"Yeah, it was destroyed, I was able to use it as a weapon one last time, but after that, it was too destroyed to repair, and even using the power of Creation itself wouldn't reanimate the living cells within it, that had already died," I explained. "No matter, I had already mostly assimilated its powers after I had obtained my Ascended Vessel Body, so I simply regrew a normal arm, all of the abilities that arm had are still within my body now."
"Well that's a relief," Eleanora said. "If you let me be honest with you, I never liked that arm…"
"Hahah, I do remember you never liking the idea of me replacing one of my arms with it," I laughed. "But it was the quickest path to power at the time, and to quickly harbor and assimilate the demonic energy I needed to grow stronger. It had evolved one last time with the Celestial Nanomachines, but it doesn't matter, I can do the same thing the arm could do with my entire body now…"
"And about the spear?" Eleanora asked.
"Gluttony was broken, but I was able to repair it," I said. "Unlike a living being like my arm, being broke didn't meant it would grow weaker. And because I was repairing it, I decided to better reforge it, and added a couple of new ingredients, so it has become even stronger."
"Fufu, I see that you're not letting go of that old spear.. I still remember that it once belonged to your father!" Eleanora laughed. "It has changed a lot now, and I still wonder if it even has left anything from the original."
"It technically does, it just that these old materials simply merged over time with others," I said. "However, the old wood and the steel blade it had… it still there."
As we talked about Gluttony, the spear appeared by my side, it could now teleport and be summoned at will, as it had now become more than just my weapon.
I had linked it as one of my Vampire Spirits, it was now both a normal weapon and also a Spirit Weapon, its physical materials had not disappeared, as they had now been merged with its new Spiritual Soul.
However, when looking at its Status, it still had the same as before, and even more upgraded now, as I used various wonderful materials to upgrade Gluttony, such as Lucifer's Demonic Authority Fragments, and also his Divinity Fragments, granting Gluttony the power of Lucifer himself, a perfect weapon to strike him down with his own strength.
"What a majestic spear! It has evolved even further; I wonder if it could strike down Lucifer now?" Eleanora said.
She was still bloodthirsty for more battle, I knew she also desired revenge against Lucifer.
"Not yet, although it has the potential," I said. "Gluttony, just like me, has to continue growing stronger and evolving, we'll do so through the year, while also taking down a lot of annoyances before we move on to the last stage."
And I was looking forward to it.
