Chapter 1454: A Second Chance For The Hero
-----
FLAAASH!
Dylan's entire body was encompassed by the Divine Light, the power that Lucifer inherited from God, the Creator himself, which Blake had managed to tear apart from his very soul.
This power didn't just reform Dylan as Blake absorbed his Spirit Orb, but it rapidly rewrote his entire being, evolving him into a higher form of life.
Something between a Human, a Spirit, and an Angel.
In front of everyone's awestruck faces, they saw as Dylan, thought to have been vaporized, rapidly reformed, reviving.
This scene… some of them had seen it before, when Blake revived Chris from his death.
Chris felt strange, knowing fully well that this was how he was revived, that he was no longer just a human anymore.
Perhaps that was also the reason why he felt so strong and full of energy all the time, and how his Mana seemed to never run out now.
"Blake, you did it again, huh?" he smiled faintly, seeing a Platinum-colored card appear in the middle of this light, before the light fully wrapped around it, using it at its core, and then rapidly materializing into a living being, Dylan.
With his long green hair, his blue eyes, and his golden armor… although his Spirits themselves weren't there anymore, merged with his very Spiritual Being, parts of him, rather than Spirits that were born from his Spirit Orb, as he had no longer a Spirit Orb to begin with.
"By the Holy Spirits, you actually did it…!" Elizabeth said.
"Wooow! That's so amazing!" Erika clapped.
"Incredible… But then again, why? Why would you revive this traitorous man?" Eleanora questioned Blake.
"I did it to give him a second chance," Blake said. "What happened wasn't completely his fault, he was a victim, and I'll talk to the people and the masses about his story. This was his own decision, however, as I did give him another choice, one where he could become someone else entirely. And yet, he decided to take the hardest path, taking responsibility for the things he did."
Dylan's form fully manifested, although it came accompanied by a pair of feathered white wings and a halo floating above his head, he had become something strange and powerful, between Human, Angel, and Spirit.
A Nephilim.
"The Hero has been reborn?!"
"A-An angel…?"
"What's going on?"
"I thought he betrayed us?"
"No, but he died…"
"This is a miracle!"
Those that were standing nearby gasped in disbelief, there were many mixed opinions, but the majority were in such awe over his angelic form that they couldn't help but find like he had somewhat gained salvation through redemption and death.
Director Hasan and the rest of the professor walked towards Blake and Dylan, alongside his friends, they all were filled with countless questions in their minds, and indeed, their faces showed just how shocked and confused they were.
"Blake! You did it…! You defeated… Dylan? But why is he… here?" the Director was confused. "What happened? Who did you even fight? And why was he calling you Asmodeus all the time?"
"I battled Lucifer himself, the King of all Demons," Blake explained. "He had descended upon Dylan's body, possessing him and forcefully turning him into a monster."
"W-What?!"
"It can't be…"
"So what happened?!"
"No way…!"
The people gasped in disbelief, Blake nodded with a gentle smile, as he walked by the side of Dylan, who was in silence, patting his shoulders.
"Dylan was led astray when he was on a very vulnerable time of his life," he explained. "The Demonic Cultists manipulated his weak heart and made him do the unthinkable… I had to kill him so Lucifer would leave, but using my powers as a Summoner, I've brought him back to life."
"Incredible…"
"So the Summoner can revive people?!"
"Truly?!"
"Oh, by the Holy Spirits!"
"I cannot believe this, it cannot be real…! This is incredible!"
"Blake, Dylan! Our heroes!"
"What Blake speaks is the truth," Dylan said, as he saw many people gathering around the arena's ruins. "I was indeed led astray, but I will not say that I wasn't at fault for what I did… for the monster I became. I deserved to die for my sins… but Blake decided to give me a second chance, I've been reborn by his magic, a miracle. And I plan to not waste my second chance… I want to apologize for everyone here, for having disappointed you, for having said the things I did… I wasn't being true to myself, and I let all this hatred and pain fester, warping my mind into someone I wasn't. I'm… I'm sorry…"
Dylan spoke with the most sincerity he had ever spoken, the people were left speechless, nobody spoke as they admired him and also saw through the suffering he had gone through.
Some felt guilty about what happened to him, if he wasn't pushed so far, if he wasn't forced to shield the entire continent, all of humanity…
Maybe things would have been different, but that didn't happen.
They made him shoulder all the responsibilities, to fight for everyone, he suffered more than everyone else, and yet, he always wore a smile, hiding his exhaustion beneath a mask born from a fake persona.
"I'm glad you're back, Dylan…"
"Please don't cry, you were a victim of all of this!"
"You don't have to apologize…"
"Lucifer, that monster did it!"
"The Demonic Cult did it!"
"You're our hero, forever!"
The people started cheering, first the students, and then even other citizens, while Director Hasan remained in silence, glancing at the scene play out, and smiling.
"If that's the case, Dylan, then we'll give you a second chance," he said, extending his hand towards him. "Only because Blake went out of his way to give it to you."
"Thank you, Director Hasan…" Dylan cried, as he gave him a handshake, and then, Hasan ended hugging him, letting the young man cry over his shoulders, as he patted his back. "I'm sorry, for everything I did…"
"You were always our brightest kid… we all love you, Dylan, never forget that," the Director said, comforting the young hero.
