Chapter 316: 313. Clash of the titans (8)
Everyone in the army suddenly had sandals that wrapped around their legs, with spikes underneath.
"Charge!" Rameses shot forward, being at the head front. Dian leapt above him, looking far into the distance.
'The frost didn't do it to the entire ocean,' he thought, seeing where the ice stopped through his dragon eyes.
His fingernails quickly turned to claws and a powerful tail emerged behind him, along with four black wings.
He dashed forward, towards the creatures. He couldn't use his flame abilities here—he wanted to avoid melting the ice below them, as it would be a battlefield for something that was coming.
Lily and Tracy were on the field also, ripping the creatures apart with their claws, having run.
The spilled blood turned into solidified swords that followed Kila around, often acting to protect her from unexpected attacks.
The creatures were more ferocious than ever before. If they had to compare it to a monster raid that they faced while defending a camp normally, this would be ten times more intense.
The creatures weren't worried about defence; all they wanted was to draw blood at least once.
A dangerous mindset, really.
Lily tore at the creatures with ease. Even as a fifth class, she was able to deal with other fifth class with relative ease.
This was all thanks to her most powerful ability: the golden aura surrounding her that increased her attack strength and speed—Might Aura.
An ability that doubles her speed and strength.
Lily had a long dagger made out of a strange black metal. She put the blade against her skin, coating it with her own blood which had poisonous attributes.
She looked towards the other soldiers to see that a creature was running towards them very fast.
Clank!
She appeared in front of it, stopping the hand of the creature.
Lily was pushed back by the monster's strength, and she stood straight. A massive shadow loomed over her like an omen of death, but there was no fear in her golden eyes.
The creature was a large centipede with a humanoid body, almost like a centaur. Its arms were in the shape of long metallic rods, looking like bloody scythes.
She could tell that it was a fourth class with the way it pushed her away earlier.
'It's strong, but I will win.' She lunged at it.
In a battle of life and death, there were many deciding factors that determined the outcome: strength, speed, will, determination, weapons, race, innate ability, instinct, and so on.
And right now, Lily had an advantage as a fifth class that could put her on par with a fourth class—she was a vampire with naturally enhanced senses. She dodged the creature's attacks over and over again, defending against its strikes with the Xylemite dagger.
With the added strength and speed of a vampire, her stats were doubled with the Might Aura. And she had a multitude of skills now. That was why... she would win!
Lily sucked in a breath, dodging a slash that was going for her neck.
She dashed forward, the spiked sandals clashing against the ice floor. The creature let out a disgusting cackle, as if laughing at her.
The creature's stomach burst open, spilling out hot acid. It brought both of its scythes down again, wanting to finish her off.
A smile bloomed on Lily's face as she saw this, and she turned into a cloud of green smoke, evading every attack.
The green cloud surrounded the creature like a ball. Inside it, Lily appeared in random locations, slashing at the monster's body with aggression.
The Xylemite was sharp enough, and with her own strength she was able to cut relatively deep.
Flashes of light could be seen from outside of the gas barrier around the creature. Inside this space, she couldn't be harmed as long as the creature couldn't find her body.
Sparks flew as she tried to pierce the hide of the creature, carving deep into it each time.
The creature, feeling overwhelmed, decided to flee in that instant. It bent down, raising its arms up.
"Got you!" Lily's voice tore through the gas, and both of the scythes of the creature fell off.
The creature fell weakly, trying to move with its countless legs. However, it had inhaled too much poison inside the green barrier.
A flash passed its eye and its head flew off its body, landing to the side.
Lily stood beside the creature, looking at it with a strange look.
'They're too short,' she thought, looking at the dagger in her hands.
Her eyes went to the two large scythes in that instant. They were seven feet long, taller than her, who was just 5'6.
She looked at the creatures that were all around them, cut cleanly as if they were made of weak material. Each of the fallen creatures was either seventh class or sixth class, and the scythes were able to cut through them cleanly.
She put the dagger away, grabbing the scythes before charging into the horde of monsters again.
From the back, Quan, Bai Monk, and Natasha finally arrived at the battlefield. They immediately spotted Dexter and the others at the front of the battlefield and sprinted there.
...
Dexter was like a war god in the middle of the battle. He waved his spear, cleaving and ripping sixth and seventh class creatures as if they were mere dirt.
From the level of seventh class and above, all creatures began to manifest strange and distinct abilities, but right now, none of that mattered in front of the black hurricane that they constantly lunged at.
Dexter swung his spear, clashing with a peculiar creature with a crab pincer.
Its legs moved like a machine, closing the distance between them in a second.
"You have no idea... how much..." Dexter's eyes gleamed with a dangerous red light, and he dashed towards it, dodging the pincer that clamped where his head was.
"...I hate crabs." He cleaved both pincers, appearing underneath the creature in its shadow and piercing upwards, elongating the spear like a pole.
"You're not going to have all the fun, are you?" Quan's voice came from beside him, pushing ahead of Dexter.
Dexter looked at the dragon prince and smiled. Then he looked around, searching for the third class titans.
They hadn't showed up yet, making him worry. Jude said that they were heading here, but the lesser creatures got here before them.
