Chapter 970: Continuous Body Training
The Thunder Ball formed by the thunder attribute energy within Yiyun's body was like a Long Whale Sucking Water, emitting a massive suction force that continuously plundered the energy from the gray aura through the gray air current connected to Yiyun's skin, or rather, relentlessly devoured the gray aura. The thunder attribute energy in Yiyun's meridians kept surging and roiling, dragging wisps of gray air current to run through the meridians, finally sending it back to the Dantian, allowing the Thunder Ball to devour the gray air current. Each plunder shrunk the gray aura a little, and each devour made the Thunder Ball's thunder grow even louder.
The gray aura still struggled like a drowning person continuously trying to float to the surface to breathe. Time and again, the gray aura attempted to sever its connection with the gray air current, but each time it felt as if it were glued; it could not sever that gray air current at all, only able to tenaciously resist the black hole-like suction from within Yiyun's body.
Under Yiyun's relentless plundering, the gray aura shrank to a sphere only the size of a fist, and due to the massive energy loss, the gray aura, or now the gray sphere, had become extremely faint, as if it might disappear at any moment. However, even so, the gray sphere still stubbornly held its ground against the thunder attribute energy within Yiyun's body. At this point, the thunder attribute energy also had no method to deal with this mass of gray aura and could only remain in a stalemate.
Just as these two energies were deadlocked, Yiyun's eyebrows slightly furrowed, and he let out a faint sound from his nose before slowly regaining consciousness. Previously, he had fainted in a self-protective state from being unable to withstand the feeling of all the energy being plundered from his body. Now, under the stimulation of the thunder attribute energy within his body, he awoke slowly. But as soon as he regained some consciousness, he felt his meridians flooded with violent thunder attribute energy, and the Prohibition sensation he could previously perceive was now entirely absent.
Although he had regained a trace of consciousness, Yiyun, whose judgment had not fully recovered, was startled by the condition within his body. He wanted to shout, but he felt as if his body was not under his control. The overfilled meridians transmitted an extremely uncomfortable feeling, the violent thunder attribute energy surging through the meridians over and over, making Yiyun feel like his meridians were nearly torn apart. Although his meridians had not actually torn, the feeling of them suddenly being filled after being in an extremely empty state was still extremely unbearable.
The energy in the meridians surged over and over, and with each surge, Yiyun tried to swell the energy within his body in sync with his meridians' frequency. Only by regaining control over the internal energy could Yiyun escape from his current predicament. However, Yiyun did not know how he could regain control over the energy within his body; he could only tirelessly attempt to swell the energy with the frequency of its surging through the meridians.
Often, the most foolish method turns out to be the most effective. Although Yiyun was in a state of half-understanding about his physical situation, thanks to his innate-superpower physique awakening, his body had an extraordinarily high affinity for energy. Therefore, after a series of almost ten synchronized swells with the thunder attribute frequency, he faintly gained a sliver of energy control. Although the thunder attribute energy was now obediently circulating through his body's meridians, showing no signs of crossing boundaries, this did not mean that the thunder attribute energy would obediently relinquish control to him. So, as Yiyun obtained a sliver of control over the thunder attribute energy, it suddenly grew violent, rampaging through the meridians and endlessly impacting the already reinforced meridians.
Yiyun sensed the sudden change in his internal energy, yet he did not panic in the slightest. Since his body was already in such a state, panicking would not help, so he calmed down and slowly moved the little energy he could control, mixing it bit by bit with the uncontrolled energy to gradually assimilate other energies.
Yiyun's innate-superpower physique had undeniably helped him significantly. His energy-affinitive body naturally chose the simplest and most direct method as it sensed the energy's violent transformation. Thus, Yiyun soon pacified the tumultuous thunder attribute energy, as this energy originally belonged to his body and had only been prohibited by Zhu Bufan because his body was too fragile to handle the violent energy.
After undergoing a nearly destructive ordeal, Yiyun's body became extremely tough, making it naturally able to withstand the current impact of the thunder attribute energy.
Upon regaining control over his strength, Yiyun clearly felt that he also reclaimed control over his body, which had been previously restrained by unknown methods. It felt remarkably lightened. Letting out a faint laugh, Yiyun's eyebrows slightly twitched as he slowly opened his once tightly closed eyes.
The first thing Yiyun's gaze encountered was the endless darkness capable of swallowing everything, followed by the gray aura, now shrunk to the size of a fist. The gray aura floated up and down above Yiyun's abdomen, and a thin ray of gray air current branched from it, connecting to his abdomen. Wisps of faint purple thunder light constantly emerged from the gray air current, emitting a terrifying roar.
Curiously, Yiyun observed the gray aura and found nothing amiss, only a faint thunder attribute energy radiating from it. So Yiyun extended his hand towards the gray aura and gently squeezed, hearing a "pop" as if he had burst a balloon. The gray aura, no longer containing any thunder attribute energy, roared like a freed wild beast before entering Yiyun's body all at once.
Shivering, Yiyun felt nothing else other than a curious glance at his now empty right hand. He had no idea what that gray aura was. Holding it felt strangely cold, yet when it burst, nothing remained, not even a piece. This was indeed a strange occurrence.
Yiyun shook his clean right hand, seemingly trying to dispel the cold sensation from before, and then turned with curiosity to survey the dark space. With not a glimmer of light, Yiyun could not determine the space's size in any way. However, he had his methods. Extending his right index finger, Yiyun lightly flicked his thumb, and a string of purple electric light burst from his fingertip, transforming into purple thunder fire. The dark space was instantly illuminated by the dazzling purple thunder fire.
Illuminated by the fire, the dimensions of the dark space immediately appeared. It was an elongated space, roughly one person long, as the now familiar Yiyun could easily touch the bottom with his tiptoes. It was about one meter wide and about sixty centimeters high.
Having acquired the measurements, Yiyun slowly sketched the shape of the dark space in his mind, and then his facial expression momentarily froze. A rather unsettling feeling arose in his heart. Muttering a low curse, he could no longer bear to remain in the dark space. He extinguished the thunder fire in his hand, then gently swelled the energy within his body. His engorged meridians immediately responded, and a formidable energy surged through them, gathering in Yiyun's hands.
With a low shout, Yiyun formed his hands into palms, pressing them against the barrier before him. Strings of thunder light seeped from his palms, issuing a sizzling sound. As the thunder light grew brighter, reaching an intensity too dazzling to look at, Yiyun seemed unfazed by the radiance, his eyes intently focused on the spot where his palms imprinted, murmuring softly. When Yiyun's chanting ended, the previously bright thunder light instantly withdrew into his palms, disappearing so abruptly as if it had never appeared.
