Chapter 954: Come Out If You Dare

Petals of various colors scattered in the air, carrying a strange floral fragrance.

Zhu Bufan stood still, not looking at the scattering petals, but his gaze fell into the distance. In the place his eyes landed, a ray of colorful light appeared. The colorful light advanced rapidly, reaching Zhu Bufan in just a few breaths. The light was composed of flowers of various colors. The flowers Zhu Bufan had just shattered now regrew, and it seemed these flowers had filled this entire gray and empty place.

With the appearance of the flowers, the gray space seemed to gain some brightness, no longer as dim and lifeless as before. The gray haze above, which looked like the sky, also emitted a faint white light. In an instant, the entire open area was illuminated. With the emergence of flowers and light, undulations began to appear in the distance; mountains, some towering and some lower, emerged in the distance, followed by trees. Numerous tree seedlings began to appear, growing taller continuously, growing in a highly regulated manner, sparsely lining both sides of Zhu Bufan, forming a natural pathway.

Then came the sound of flowing water; the babbling of the water added a bit of vitality to this quiet and empty place. After the water sound appeared, Zhu Bufan suddenly heard the crisp sound of birds chirping, followed by a series of flapping sounds as a flock of birds flew out of the forest, soaring into the sky. Faint beast roars came from deep within the forest. This place transformed from a lifeless space into one full of vitality.

These transformations could only be described as miraculous.

However, watching all these changes, Zhu Bufan's face grew paler, an evident fear appearing in his red eyes, and his hands started to tremble slightly. The transformations before him were all too familiar; a place capable of changing so much in an instant could only be that kind of place. Two words suddenly flashed in Zhu Bufan's mind.

Virtual Realm.

As soon as he thought of these two words, Zhu Bufan shivered involuntarily. The person capable of creating a Virtual Realm was already a master at the pinnacle of the world, not someone the current Zhu Bufan could contend with. Zhu Bufan suddenly felt his palms sweating, and even his breathing became a bit labored. He swallowed hard, then took heavy steps down the natural path formed by trees. He did not know where this path would lead, but to leave the Virtual Realm, he must meet its master, or no matter how great his abilities, he would never leave this place.

Zhu Bufan felt as if his legs were filled with lead, so heavy were they. He had a rough idea of who the creator of this Virtual Realm might be, and what kind of danger he might face. But he did not retreat, nor did he have the option to retreat. Staying in this Virtual Realm would sooner or later lead to being discovered by the master of this place, and it would be better to face him directly, maybe there would still be a sliver of chance.

Now, Zhu Bufan had no other thoughts. He began to circulate the Qi within his body, his body becoming somewhat light as a result. The circulation of Qi calmed his mind. His steps no longer felt as heavy as before. He never expected that after finally escaping Yichen's pursuit, he would enter a Virtual Realm instead, and this enemy was hundreds of times more dangerous than Yichen.

The path ahead gradually widened, and when Zhu Bufan reached the end of the path, a vast lake suddenly appeared before him. A small wooden boat was anchored on the lakeshore, a few water birds were frolicking in the shallows, and unnamed fish swam in the lake, occasionally leaping out of the water with a splash before diving back in. On the opposite shore stood a small wooden house built along the bank, exquisitely constructed, but with its door tightly shut, as if no one was inside.

Zhu Bufan stopped ten meters from the lake, standing quietly. He knew he had reached the location of the Virtual Realm's master, and all he could do now was wait for the master to appear.

"How many years has it been, unexpected that someone could trigger my Virtual Realm and enter it." A hoarse voice suddenly came, speaking in a tone of lamentation. The voice appeared abruptly, yet it did not feel abrupt, as if it naturally belonged in this place.

Zhu Bufan did not answer, still standing quietly. He did not see the owner of the voice, nor could he ascertain where the voice came from, as it came from all directions, making it impossible for Zhu Bufan to determine its source.

"Unexpectedly, it turns out to be a descendant of an old acquaintance." The voice came again, still so old, with a hint of laziness, "Little guy, how did you get here?"

Zhu Bufan still did not answer. He also didn't know how to respond.

"Heh, unexpected that there's still someone today capable of receiving the Ancient Inheritance. Quite remarkable. But little guy, you aren't the actual one, are you? Never thought a parasitic consciousness would appear. You still haven't told me how you got here." The hoarse voice spoke slowly, seemingly in no hurry. After all these years alone, he was glad even to speak with an enemy.

"I have always been here." Zhu Bufan knew what the person was asking.

"Oh. Were you raised here?" The hoarse voice seemed to understand something suddenly, "Never thought you guys could still send people in. What's your name, kid?"

"Me, Nameless." Zhu Bufan gave the succinct reply again. It was his third time saying this.

"Nameless?" The hoarse voice paused for a moment before continuing, "In the Divine Void where reality does not exist, comes a 'Nameless' person? You all underestimated us too much. How many years have passed, still so stagnant." The old voice suddenly began lecturing Zhu Bufan.

"That's our business, no need for you to worry." Zhu Bufan suddenly responded loudly. Until now, he hadn't seen the owner of the voice, but the voice exerted an invisible pressure on him.

"No need for me to worry, huh? Heh, then shouldn't you come out of this little guy's body, Nameless kid?" The old voice unexpectedly called Zhu Bufan Nameless kid.

"Come out? Humph, impossible. I've waited so many years, finally until his power awakened, and took over his body, how could I just come out?" Zhu Bufan tilted his head to look at the sky.

"Ignorant junior. Even if a mere Nameless like you comes, I wouldn't be afraid, even if Divine Level masters from your clan came." The old voice remained calm and undisturbed, not seemingly angered by Zhu Bufan's words, "Do you think you can challenge me?"

Zhu Bufan was silent. Zhu Bufan knew the master of the Virtual Realm was right; given his power to create such a realistic domain, even the tribe's Divine Level experts might not fare well against him. Yet Zhu Bufan, or rather Nameless, was inherently ruthless. Even knowing there was no chance of winning, he was unwilling to concede, so he defiantly looked up, gazing at the sky and said, "So what? If you have the ability, show yourself."
