Chapter 1010: Take Action

Yet Mr. Rui's reluctance for conflict didn't mean Doro shared the same sentiment. Only a cold snort from Doro was heard, his facial expression twisted further as he shouted, "Attack." A strong red light suddenly erupted from him, turning his whole body into a red shadow as he charged toward Mr. Rui.

The people behind Doro also shouted in unison; the Superpower Users among them activated their abilities, while the ordinary individuals picked up their weapons and began the assault. No one expected that out of the hundred people Doro brought, there were forty Superpower Users. Regardless of their strength, the sheer number already exceeded that of Mr. Rui's Superpower Users.

Seeing Doro make a move, Sodar led a group to meet them without waiting for Mr. Rui's order. Mr. Rui's group had only twenty-five Superpower Users, including himself. However, there were about a hundred ordinary individuals equipped with weapons capable of harming ordinary Superpower Users.

In no time, various lights began to flash in the valley, and the sound of roaring winds was quickly drowned out by the shouts and cries. After the first clash between the ordinary people, the Superpower Users from both sides finally engaged. Various lights burst from the crowd, accompanied by cries of pain and roars of anger. No one wanted to die, so each fought with all their might. But these disorganized Superpower Users crowded together, making a chaotic melee inevitable, one where it was hard to distinguish friend from foe.

Superpower Users' battles are inherently susceptible to affecting the surrounding environment. The large-scale conflict in the not-so-spacious valley ensured many would be caught in the attacks launched by either their companions or enemies. The intense fluctuation of energy in the air caused great discomfort among Superpower Users. Meanwhile, Mr. Rui's ordinary followers couldn't intervene in the Superpower Users' battle. All the Superpower Users were entangled, and even among the sharpshooters in the ordinary group, none dared to attack rashly, fearing they might accidentally harm their allies. Thus, they could only fight against the ordinary people Doro brought.

Doro had no chance to get close to Mr. Rui. The moment Doro turned into a red shadow and charged out, Jue became a green light rushing forward, with Sodar close behind. A sudden sonic boom startled Sorres beside Mr. Rui, and Sorres only saw a faint green shadow flash out. As Sodar rushed out, Jue commenced the first wave of his attack against Doro.

Unlike Yu, Jue specialized in ranged attacks. However, Sodar compensated for his weakness in close combat. As long as Jue could stall Doro initially, waiting for Sodar to catch up, they could subdue Doro together. But Doro was like a slippery eel; upon sensing Jue's attack, his forward momentum suddenly twisted, changing direction, pressing both hands onto the ground, and two flames burst forth. Using the momentum of the flames, he shot forward with twice his previous speed. He not only avoided Jue's attack but also seemed about to bypass Jue and continue toward Mr. Rui.

Nonetheless, Jue was someone who had experienced many battles and wasn't easily frightened by such a change. Seeing the opponent evade his attack, Jue didn't dare to hold back. Green light flickered on his body as five Wind Balls twirled out from behind him, quickly falling in the direction of Doro's forward momentum. Jue wisely chose not to attack Doro, knowing Doro would inevitably dodge. Attacking before blocking him would have been ineffective.

The five Wind Balls swiftly formed a Wind Barrier, and Jue turned his form, forsaking his preferred long-range attack, and charged toward Doro. The speed of Wind Element Superpower Users was unmatched, and even though Doro utilized the explosive power of flames, it was just a momentary acceleration. Hence, unsurprisingly, Jue caught up to Doro before he could reach the Wind Barrier.

Trailing behind Doro, green light flickered on Jue's body. His left hand lightly shook, instantly releasing a dozen Wind Blades, only palm-sized each. These Wind Blades were incredibly fast and barely made any sound. As soon as they left his hand, they caught up to Doro ahead. Since Jue was closely following Doro, the Wind Blades quickly matched Doro's speed.

Sensing the threat from behind, Doro coldly snorted, striking backward without even looking. Red light erupted as a fiery light, arm-length, burst forth. Although the fire wasn't large, its momentum was huge, carrying a sensation of destruction. Before the Wind Blades could take effect, they were wholly consumed by the firelight. The firelight that swallowed the Wind Blades didn't stop but rushed directly at Jue.

Jue merely gave a cold snort, tilting his form to evade the oncoming firelight. A green glow glinted in his eyes as he stretched his right hand forward and made a grasping motion in the void. The five Wind Balls forming the Wind Barrier emitted a strange sound, and then the Wind Barrier transformed into a soft wind net, covering the charging Doro.

Doro hadn't anticipated the rapid adaptive tactics of this Wind Element Superpower User trailing him. Even though the previous Wind Blades were weak, he dared not recklessly counter the huge wind net in front. Hastily halting his form, he struck out five punches into the void, each punch heavier than the last, stacking on the previous one. Such stacking of force wasn't as simple as five plus five, and coupled with the innately violent nature of the fire superpower, Doro's explosive methods further stimulated its fiery characteristics.

When the five punches touched the wind net, they simultaneously erupted, unleashing an indescribable force. Red firelight swept like a massive wave, consuming the wind net instantly. Thankfully, Jue reacted quickly, retrieving the Wind Balls just in time, or else they would have been utterly destroyed. The wildfire blazed in the air with an intent to incinerate. Doro, without any hesitation, plunged headlong into the sea of flames. While a fiery inferno might spell doom for others, for him, it was the perfect space.

A vortex formed around Doro in the fire, with the blazing flames rapidly absorbed into his body. Doro astonishingly took back all the flames generated from the explosion. This scene stunned Jue.

Just as the flames dimmed, a dull boom resounded from the sky as a purple Thunder Light descended straight down on Doro. At this moment, Sodar finally caught up with Jue and launched his attack at the perfect opportunity.

Compared to the explosiveness of fire, the attack of thunder was fiercer and more domineering.

This Thunder Light embodied thirty percent of Sodar's strength, and its unexpected nature startled Doro. At this point, he couldn't dodge. With no choice but to resist head-on, flames flashed on Doro's fist as the flames he just absorbed converged onto his right arm. Watching the Thunder Light descend, Doro punched forward, unleashing a fire from his hand with sky-high momentum, faintly accompanied by some sound from within the erupting firelight.

A colossal boom thundered as the firelight and Thunder Light extinguished simultaneously in the air. Sodar finally appeared before Doro.

Emerging without hesitation, Sodar threw a punch at Doro, imbued with Thunder Light. Regardless of its force, the punch's power was undeniable. Doro nimbly dodged, stepping aside and simultaneously reaching toward his waist to draw out a Soft Whip. Without visible action on Doro's part, the Soft Whip whipped toward Sodar's fist like a Spiritual Snake. Flames bursting from the whip radiated a heat that compelled retreat.

Sodar's expression turned grave; he hadn't expected such swiftness in his opponent's movements, and the speed of his adaptations was astounding. It was impossible to retract the punch once unleashed, but he had his own ways. With a forward step and an inclined body, he just barely avoided the approaching Soft Whip.

Missing his mark, Doro pivoted without retrieving the Soft Whip. Instead, the whip curled again, landing directly toward Sodar's left leg. The Spiritual Snake-like whip posed a significant threat, and if Sodar failed to retract his leg in time, he would surely be beaten like a pig's head. However, the whip in the opponent's hand was so uncanny that even a battle-hardened fighter like Sodar found it challenging to defend against it quickly.
