Unliving-Living

Chapter 49: [ 12: 00: 00 ] To [ 12: 14: 00 ]

Nate flipped his middle finger at the handsome figure.

It really pissed him off, what were the chances of meeting two guys more handsome than him in a single day. Despite the vastness of the universe, the chances were extremely low. He was stunning after all.

It was time to show this big bad undead that it had chosen the wrong moment to spawn into the universe.

Dark Contamination.

He emptied his Senar reserve, pouring everything to this one skill, he brought his hands down to the ground.

At this point, the vampire seemed to have realized what was about to happen as it shot towards him.

The vampire was quickly intercepted by a streak of white.

Saquin and the vampire both shot off in opposite directions after they collided.

The vampire refused to relent as it got its bearings and shot towards Nate again.

But, Saquin was even more relentless.

He intercepted the vampire again which seemed to finally piss the old fossil off.

Hundreds of Senar reinforced blade-shaped blood rained down on Saquin.

Saquin did not bat an eye as he still shot back towards the vampire, his [ Frost Feather Sword ] appearing in hand.

His wings flapped, producing an intense backward push as he pushed his flight speed to a higher level.

His hand blurred as he closed the distance between him and the vampire. His blade cleaved through all the blood blades in his immediate vicinity.

Those that he missed had no chance of hitting him, courtesy of his speed and also Samantha, the Emitter of the classmates team.

As an Emitter, she can project her energy outwards, it was quite different from the Ranger way of application.

Using her [ Bold Barrier ] ability, she tanked some of the attacks that were meant for Saquin.

Saquin reached the vampire for the third time, he swung his sword in a wide arc.

The vampire narrowed his eyes, he was not so dumb to believe someone of Saquin's caliber would be an incompetent swordsman or speed user in general.

It was a feint. He concluded.

He went along with the charade though, he intercepted the attack with his red tinged claws.

Clang!

Sure enough it was a feint.

As soon as the two attacks connected, Saquin used his sword leverage to draw himself in. He gracefully spun around the vampire, avoiding the hidden attack from his other hand.

A barely perceptible dagger stabbed at the vampire's back. It easily penetrated through the multiple mini shields formed from blood.

The vampire did not panic despite the incoming attack. It was still all under his expectations, his wings woke up with immense power coursing through them.

His right wing went for the attack.

The wing easily destroyed the energy barrier created by Samantha and closed in on Saquin's heart.

The vampire mused in his head. Would Saquin sacrifice his heart for the attack?

As an undead, he was sure Saquin could survive for a while without his heart and could even recover to his full health.

But, in the heat of battle getting your heart injured was as good as signing your death.

---

Saquin could feel the vampire's wing shooting straight at his heart, but he was not worried.

The vampire may think that all was under his control, but Saquin knew that was a lie.

The vampire may have taken all the major factors into account and even moderately prepared for unknown factors. But could he really prepare for something like this?

Blink.

Saquin disappeared from the spot in an instant and reappeared by Nate's side.

"Huh?" The vampire was stunned. He was not just surprised by the fact that Saquin could teleport but also by the fact that he felt no space distortion.

Plus, why had Saquin used it to further the distance and not used it to go on the offensive.

He had his answer a second later.

Dark Contamination.

Nate's skill had finally been successfully deployed.

The sky's red color flickered, while the red hue of the environment gradually faded. The ground slowly darkened like it was eroding.

The vampire's [ Playground Of Blood ] Domain had taken a severe hit, but it held.

The Domain was not Nate's skill major target though, it was targeted at the unending liters of blood scattered across the city.

The vampire would not just be more powerful with the blood around, it would be essentially immortal. It practically would be able to heal out of any injury and attack inflicted on it as long as the blood supply was that much.

So, Nate had telepathically communicated with Saquin asking if he could hold down the vampire long enough for him to deploy the skill.

Saquin had asked what Fire was doing to which he told him the truth. Fire was pouring his Senar into an Artifact that would help them escape.

As soon as the Domain was weakened and a bit of time was bought, they could all dip.

To buy time.

Star Collapse.

Star, aided by an Artifact, employed her most powerful skill.

---

The vampire gritted his teeth, his hatred for the Darkkin crawling up his spin.

The little brat had more or less corrupted the significant amount of the blood making them useless to him.

He was still on this thought when he felt his body grow heavy.

Interesting.

A sharp glint passed through his red dead eyes before everything went bright.

The immediate fifty meters around the vampire was completely obliterated.

"Now!!!" Fire finally appeared. Star, Pear and Kentra followed close behind him.

Nate and Samantha retreated to their side as Fire activated the Artifact.

"Fast."

At that moment, an immense aura appeared abruptly above them.

The vampire, completely unscathed.

He gave the five a chilling smile, his fangs in full display.

"Blood clone." He said to them,

Then he pointed at them.

"Since my blood reserve is depleted, you would have to manage this."

In the midst of his talk, he easily dodged Saquin's sudden attack. He moved so fast that Saquin could barely keep up with him.

Bang!

A kick to the side sent Saquin flying.

To the five, he said.

"You cannot escape from me, especially not with your energy drained ."

Yellow Spark.

The vampire activated his ability for the second time that day.

He snapped his fingers at them creating a small spark of electricity.

That small spark quickly evolved to a huge one, then.

Boom!

An explosion of yellow lightning shook the city.

The vampire floated in the air as he stared down at the spot with annoyance.

"Don't you run out of energy?" He asked.

"Not really." Saquin stood up cradling Star.

He looked around and could not help but feel bitter.

Despite his effort, exploding Dead Cold Senar to the environment, he could not save them all.

Fire, Samantha and Kentra that had expended a great deal of their Senar no longer had a heartbeat.

Pear was still relatively fine, so was both Star and Nate.

Pear still had enough energy, while the duo were not just more powerful but also had defensive Cores and Artifacts.

"What are you called?" Saquin suddenly asked the vampire.

"I am Mayanar Of Eternal Blood." The vampire answered with pride. "Tell me yours little Favored One, before I kill you."

"You talk a big game, Mayanar." Saquin took a deep breath in. "I am Saquin, and you can't kill me cause you will die soon."

"You are not my match, Saquin." Mayanar scoffed. "Do I have to show you?"

Mayanar's form blurred.

He was intercepted by Saquin mid air, but he was no longer in the playing mood.

So, he was faster.

Bang!

And stronger.

Saquin hit the ground with a rough boom.

He could feel that his neck was broken, his heart had also been pierced.

But he had bought time for the trio to escape with the Artifact.

A move he thought was unnecessary.

He would soon kill this fucker after all.

He slowly pushed himself up.

He cracked his neck back in place and held it there with his left hand.

"You are stronger than I thought. That should have taken your head just now." Mayanar flew down to stand right in front of him. "But no worries."

His claws went straight through Saquin's chest.

His savage eyes staring right into Saquin's cold one.

"Die in peace, Favored One."

He smirked.

"Like I said earlier, you talk a big game." Saquin coughed out blood. But he was unmoved by the pain racking through his body.

"Especially for a mere vampire."

Those are the last words Mayanar heard as he felt his surrondings change.

Teleportation.

The sky above the red clouds of the [ Playground Of Blood ] was a beautiful sight as the star of the system shone brightly on it.

Saquin watched with indifference as the body before him burned to ashes in mere seconds.

In terms of the general hierarchy, excluding the Zombie Kings and the Unlivings, vampires are the top undead.

But strangely, they are also the easiest kind to deal with.
