Chapter 33: Remember the Number Eleven (2)

["Wow, what a turn by Tiago, and he's off. Cheeky one two with the striker and he's still going. Looks like he's hit a bit of a stumbling block in the eighteen yard box, how will he resp- Oh my word! What a pass, and Tyler Wilson is in, he's free. Tyler Wilsonnnn.... Goall! What a Goal! I just said that the match has been boring but these two teenagers have sparked life into it. Monaco lead from the first shot of the game and the goal was orchestrated by the two youngest players in the squad. I guess the saying is true, when you're good enough you are in fact old enough. What a goal. Monaco, one. Saint-Malo, nil. Game on"]

Tyler cackled after the ball hit the back of the next and started running towards the touchline. He put his hands into his pocket and then brought them out, shaping them like guns and started firing them to the small crowd that had come to watch the match, imitating Joshua Zirkzee's celebration.

"You are unbelievable!" Tyler said to Tiago as the latter caught up to him and gave him a high ten. "What a fucking run".

Tiago shrugged. "I can be magical on the ball when I want".

The rest of the team caught up to them and celebrated with them, with most of them majorly celebrating Tiago's run and then his very good assist. Tyler didn't mind the lack of attention though, the goal was purely due to Tiago. He was just the lucky winger that was given that chance on a golden platter.

After Tyler scored the opening goal, Saint-Malo ditched their calm approached and started attacking relentlessly. Nonchalantly sitting back with the ball was only a good idea when you weren't chasing a lead. In that situation, it would just be you wasting time for the opposition.

They managed to create a couple of chances and even managed to call the Monaco B goalkeeper into action, but the score-line didn't change.

After surviving a wave of Saint-Malo attacks, Monaco B were finally on the attack again, much to Tyler's happiness. It had finally gotten to the part of the game where he liked... punishing his fullback.

Unfortunately, he didn't get a lot of the ball. Majority of the chances were created from the center and right flank and the ball only ever got to him when it was time to switch play. It frustrated him, but at the same time it served as motivation to him. If he wasn't going to get the ball, then he had to make the most of it when it did get to him.

Five minutes later, he finally got his chance to shine. It was from a counter attack. Saint-Malo had a corner, but it ultimately came to nothing. It was cleared away from the Monaco B penalty area and it fell to Tiago who got it under control with his first touch. With his second touch, he sent a through ball to Tyler who was already dashing away.

["Really good reaction to this corner here from Monaco B. They've manage to clear the ball so they're not in any immediate danger. Tiago has the ball now. He's been really incredible tonight, hasn't he? Set up the opener and now what a pass he's made to Tyler Wilson once again. And Tyler Wilson's clear and Tyler Wilson's running now..]

Tyler got the ball under control with his first touch and started running with the ball. He soon got to the edge of the penalty box and was slowed by Saint-Malo's center back, who had stayed behind when the corner kick was being taken.

In that situation, Tyler knew that he couldn't slow down, otherwise he would allow the rest of the Saint-Malo players to catch up with him. His legs flashed over the ball as he did a couple of stepovers before running to his left. The center back followed him, and then Tyler cut back with a Ronaldo style chop, causing the center back to stop again. Right when the center back was about to move to follow him, Tyler kicked the ball between his legs and then ran after it. After that, there was no way back for the center back, he could only fall on the floor.

As soon as Tyler kicked the ball between the legs of the Saint-Malo defender, the Saint-Malo goalkeeper rushed out of his goalpost and ran towards the loose ball. It was a race against time for Tyler, and thankfully, he got to the ball first, chipping it over the oncoming goalkeeper and into the back of the net.

["Tyler Wilson's almost through on goal, there's one last obstacle. He's gone wide, and now he's stopped and he's gone wide again. Wow! What a skill from the seventeen year old, but now the goalkeeper's out, he's closing down the angle, who's going to get there first"]

["And Wilson's gotten to the ball, what a cheeky chip, over the goalkeeper and into the back of the net. It's two nil to Monaco. Tyler Wilson at the scene of the crime and much like the first, he's scored another incredible goal. Wow!"]

After scoring, Tyler ran towards the sideline and did a knee-slide. He stood up while nodding his head and turned to the crowd, using his hand to raise the part that had his number on it.

"Remember the number eleven, fucking remember him!" He shouted.

Tiago got to him and pushed him before giving him a short hug and patting his back. "What a goal man"

Tyler chuckled. "Nice assist. Again".

"Gaffer really sent us here to stat pad against these guys, huh?" Tiago smiled as the pair walked to the rest of their teammates.

Tyler chuckled when he heard Tiago's comment, but looking at the state of the match, how he had been allowed to score two goals, he didn't see playing with the B team having any impact on his development.

'I need first team football. And fast' Tyler thought as he walked back to his team's half so the match could be restarted.
