Chapter 359: Heartbreak (Part 3)



'Something strange is definitely going on here,' Mako said to himself as he continued to hug and console Erin.

It was so strange because even the system hadn't given him any notifications, informing him of the tiny change but he felt it in his heart that his love blessing had been activated.

Mako wasn't an emotional ability user and all the help and resistance he had gained to counter them came from his grandmother's blessing of love.

He still had no control over the love ability that was located inside of his heart and it would activate on its own will whenever Mako faced any kind of emotional threat.

Seeing as Erin was in such a dark spot, he could tell that she had a lot of negative emotions inside of her but he had no clue that the love blessing affected other people as well because the moment Mako came into contact with her, he felt the air around her lighten greatly.

He wasn't able to sense any disturbance or the heaviness of the air before he approached Erin, it was only clear to him after he had touched her and felt the sudden decrease in pressure and weight of the air around him which was very odd.

While consoling Erin, Mako repeatedly tried to use Analyze and Energy Sensing to try and figure out if there was any outside cause nearby that had made it so that Erin was so heavily surrounded by negative emotions but he had no luck finding anything as the two girls had already been long gone.

After a few minutes, Erin finally calmed down and agreed to Mako's advice to take some time apart from Andrew and let him cool down before approaching him and talking things true.

She requested Mako to keep this between them as she didn't want to burden the rest of the group with her personal problems and promised him that this wouldn't affect her performance at all.

Although Mako was highly doubtful of Erin being able to fight at her regular level with so many new and terrible thoughts occupying her mind, he still agreed as right now he knew that he had to stay close to Erin at all times and make sure her negative emotions don't flare back up again.

He had no idea what his blessing of love had done to Erin but it had definitely calmed her down and cheered her up a little and he would try to maintain her in this state to prevent her from going berserk like Bill as the Mutant Gene heavily relied on the emotions of the user to grow out of control.

With this, the two started walking back to the head nurse's office to check up on Bill together before heading back to their dorms to freshen up so that they could all meet in one of the training rooms and start training for their very important special exam.

{At the Special Class Military Complex}

Around the same as Mako and Erin decided to head back together to check on Bill, the two girls had made their way back to their own complex.

They moved through a couple of alleys and streets as they finally arrived at their location which was a very secluded area of the complex as it was the backside of a restaurant where they had all their dumpsters to throw their trash in.

As they arrived, they were relieved to see that their bait was still exactly where they had left him. Andrew was sitting on the ground beside one of the dumpsters in a complete daze as if he was a drunkard who was knocked out cold.

Swirls of purplish pink aura continued to rotate above his head with their intensity quite faded, indicating that the skill was just about to wear off.

One of the girls who had flowing dark purple hair that cascaded down her back in luxurious waves, retrieved the almost depleted aura from Andrew's head and absorbed them back inside her body.

As soon as the girl retrieved their aura, Andrew quickly snapped out of his daze and appeared distorted as he was trying to make sense of where he had suddenly been teleported as the last thing he remembered was storming out of the head nurse's office.

Before Andrew could think much less say anything, the second girl quickly approached Andrew and gave out her hand as a gesture to help him up on his feet which Andrew accepted.

However, in reality, it was just a ploy to make contact with his body as the girl's eyes quickly began to glow bright purple with a dark aura erupting from her second hand that she placed on his back as she helped him and up and entering into Andrew's body through his back.

The second girl was shorter in height with light brown hair and a medium-sized bob cut and was wearing the regular military uniform; however, she had modified it a little by folding up her shirt and tying it at the back to make a makeshift crop top.

Modifications to uniforms were strictly prohibited so that every cadet would appear the same and would have no qualitative features that would make them better than others which would support equality and camaraderie amongst the cadets, but that wasn't enforced much outside of regular school hours after which cadets could wear whatever they mostly want as long as it was still under the dress code.

Since she had done nothing permanent to the uniform and could easily restore it by unfolding it back, it was not considered as a violation of the dress code.

Andrew had no idea what had happened to him, but he genuinely appreciated the gesture of the girl helping him get back on his feet.

With the girl's job done she quickly retracted her mutant gene with a mischievous smile. "Where am I? How did I get here?" Andrew asked still a bit dazed and feeling a bit nauseous.

"I am so sorry to see you so heartbroken..." The girl with the flowing purple hair replied in the most innocent voice imaginable.

"Hmm? What do you mean?" Andrew asked, clearly aggravated by the fact that these two strangers knew about his breakup.

"I'm really sorry but I just couldn't keep it from you anymore, I was the one who sent you that text," The girl replied, keeping up her innocent demeanor.

"Huh?!" Andrew gasped as he was suddenly jolted awake and quickly filled with anger.

"IT WAS YOU?! WHY THE HELL DID YOU DO THAT!? IT COST ME MY RELATIONSHIP, I LOVED ERIN?!" Andrew yelled at the two girls who appeared to be scared from Andrew lashing out.

"I did it to protect you, you idiot," The girl replied with her lips trembling as if she was about

to cry.

"I was right, wasn't I? I just told you to go and find Erin and see what she had been up to. She was unfaithful to you and chose someone else over you. You saw it with your own eyes, she doesn't want to be with you anymore," The girl added.

Andrew was taken aback by the girl's surprisingly emotional and honest attitude. He couldn't deny that what she had sent him in his text was indeed true. Erin didn't want to be with him anymore and would rather spend time with her new friends, especially Bill.

The girl's reply made Andrew momentarily speechless as he couldn't understand why this girl was getting so emotional from this as it didn't really concern her at all.

"Why do you care so much about what Erin has been doing? Why do you want to save me? Just who are you?" Andrew asked again, but this time keeping his anger in check and speaking more softly to the girl who looked like she was on the verge of crying.

"My name is Amara and I loved Bill just as much as you loved Erin. We met during the recruitment test and he asked me to be his girlfriend but after he got demoted because he failed his mission, he stopped seeing me and started hanging around with Erin every day." The girl with the purple hair replied.

"Seeing the two of them together made my blood boil but I couldn't do anything as they were in the advanced class and I was in the special class. It was then that I learned about you and your relationship with Erin. I realized Bill wasn't the only one playing me as Erin was doing the same to you and before you could find out yourself and be even more heartbroken, I decided to tell you." The girl added.

Andrew was completely speechless at this point. He had no idea that Bill and Erin had this going on in the background this entire time. He couldn't believe how blind he had been to all

of this.

Erin had only become his girlfriend because at the time of the training under their sponsor, he was the strongest one out of the group and so she drifted towards him but the moment he was defeated during the recruitment test, she quickly moved past him and decided to look for someone more powerful to attack to.

Anger was now bubbling intensely inside Andrew's heart as he kept on hearing more and more of Amara's story and how much it made sense and resonated with his own.

In his mind, he now firmly believed that both Erin and Bill were backstabbers who only used and exploited the people who loved them.

Just as Andrew's anger reached its peak, the other girl beside him, who had helped Andrew up and injected him with the dark purplish aura, gave him a small evil grin before snapping her fingers behind her back.

The moment she snapped her fingers, the dark aura inside Andrew's body exploded with great intensity, growing and consuming the vast ocean of negative emotions inside his heart.

A glint of purple shined in Andrew's eyes as in an instant the dark purplish aura did its job and began altering every single memory of Erin in his mind with a corrupted and twisted one, painting her to be the most evil and manipulative person he had ever met and Amara was the one who had saved him from her.

Moments later, Andrew's whole demeanor changed towards Amara, and Amara's expression also quickly changed from a scared and innocent girl to now a sharp and seductive woman. "Babe, don't you think we should get some revenge on Bill and Erin...?" Amara asked in a seductive tone to which Andrew smiled with a glint in his eyes as he approached Amara.

The two came close and Andrew pressed his lips against hers as the two engaged in a passionate kiss together.

"Yes, of course, my dear... That bitch needs to pay!" Andrew replied as he removed his lips from Amara for a single moment before resuming kissing her.
