Chapter 19: 19
Juny's expression was complicated as she stared down at Daimira.
"Why would you do that?"
Daimira felt strange.
'Why am I kneeling? What? Didn't she say they've met before? Why is it bad to say the name? No... Why am I kneeling?"
Daimira herself couldn't understand why she complied with the kneeling.
But seeing Juny's genuinely angry face, Daimira pushed her confusion aside.
"Well, you said you've met before, so I figured they already knew."
Juny raised her eyebrow.
"Then why did you say it?"
Daimira moved her eyes around, trying to find a suitable wall to look at.
"Well, because they called us an organization, but they also knew us, I thought they just forgot... since they're stupid."
Juny frowned and massaged the bridge of her nose.
"Just stand up. Forget it. I'm already used to this nonsense."
Remembering her previous confrontations with Dager and Ellone, Juny felt that Daimira's defense was actually reasonable.
She looked to the side.
Her eyes moved from the short-furred black cat, who was shaking her head, to a pretty lady with red eyes.
The lady was looking up at the ceiling, observing the seemingly mesmerizing candle by the wall.
She was the Sanguine lady the four men tried to abduct.
Juny took her with her just in case those officials would try to convert her faith.
"What, haa...What are you still doing here."
Juny first had to shake off her annoyance before talking to the innocent Sanguine.
The Sanguine, whose name Juny learned was Villia, moved her gaze away from the candle and looked at Juny.
Her awkwardness immediately disappeared.
"I want to find my brother."
As those words fell on her ears, Juny felt as if it was an incantation for summoning headaches.
'Is it normal to get this many migraines at my age?'
Juny was seriously concerned for her body's health.
"I'm guessing your brother was kidnapped by those guys?"
Juny looked at the girl who was above average in looks.
If Daimira was majestic or stunning, then Villia was beautiful or pretty.
She couldn't be over 18 years old with pitch-black, long hair. Her front hair was tied to the back of her head and into a braid.
Juny found that hairstyle impossible to do on one's own.
Villia nodded with slight embarrassment.
Juny did her best to not sigh at that.
'She tried to find her brother but got caught instead...'
Juny looked away while humming.
"I see. But it's dangerous, you should go back."
Villia flinched before protesting.
"No! I want to find him! I swear I can be helpful. I just... didn't expect four Beyonders to appear."
Juny's gaze moved to Daimira.
Daimira understood the gaze, showing her displeasure.
"I'm not going to take care of a naive child."
Juny couldn't help but narrow her eyes.
She looked at herself, the short Daimira and the short-furred Darmine.
Juny then turned to the quite tall Villia.
If anyone were to see them, they would naturally think of Villia as the oldest person.
'What a hilarious thought.'
Juny almost laughed at her own silent joke.
Darmine noticed this slight shift in Juny's expression.
As a Telepathist, she immediately knew what was going on inside her mind.
With that, even the cat began to understand the absurdity of the situation.
Juny finally sighed and looked at Daimira.
"You can do whatever you want. Let her join, don't, none of my business. But I have things to discuss with Darmine, so go back to patrolling."
Juny stopped for a moment before adding.
"Don't be too tight, they will probably stay quiet for a while."
Daimira nodded and turned to Villia.
The black-haired Sanguine stood up and followed behind her.
She felt slight displeasure at being called a child, but remembering the fight, she kept silent.
As the two left, Juny slowly took out a pitch black handkerchief.
Darmine watched Juny cough up bright red blood before nonchalantly putting it back into her pocket.
As the two locked eyes, Juny shrugged.
"It's no big deal, but they'd panic."
Darmine slowly nodded, stood up and walked over to the sofa.
Juny followed and sat opposite Darmine.
It was time for Darmine to report her findings.
...
"Captain... how do we report this?"
Bedrich couldn't help but ask after the short, mysterious woman with the other mysterious figure disappeared.
They could've argued about why they were taking the Sanguine, but the reason was quite obvious even to them.
Craider looked at Bedrich before sighing.
'Writing a report will be near impossible. It will seem suspicious no matter which angle I try to take it from.'
After all, the two of them were not saved once, but twice by unknown people from a secret organization.
Not to mention, they couldn't tell any of the looks or voice of one of these two people.
One of the enemies also exploded out of nowhere and the holy white flame simply disappeared.
Before all that, Craider would have to explain his terrible choice of confrontation with the enemy.
And also the fact that the organization just decided to reveal its name...
'It's all too suspicious!'
Although Craider knew it was real, noone would believe it.
Or at least not without having doubts about Craider and Bedrich's relationship with the organization.
Shaking his head, Craider looked at the pool of blood where a black-haired Vampire used to stand.
Next to this pool was a shining dagger from the Sun Domain.
'They even left this here...'
Craider felt a headache as he took out some ritualistic materials.
"Captain?"
Bedrich called out, seemingly coming to another realization.
"Yes?"
Craider, having finished his preparations, looked around.
Bedrich was staring down at the bloody remains with a complicated expression.
"Why would they let us do the ritual? I mean, they had every right to take it."
Craider looked down and up at the floating spirit.
"They said that they had nothing to gain from the summoning, meaning they probably know who's behind it."
Just as Bedrich was about to question further, Craider added.
"Also, it's probably to show their goodwill for the officials."
Bedrich looked at his captain with a strange expression.
Seeing this Craider massaged his temples.
"You saw it last time, they said they had nothing against us. Although I too think this is a bit excessive. They made us owe them just by saving us, there was no need for additional stuff..."
Craider trailed off as his face slowly turned puzzled.
...
Juny nodded, looking down at her notes.
"Thank you, Darmine, you've done well."
Darmine flicked her whiskers before turning to look towards the door.
"I have a question."
Juny looked up from her notes and locked eyes with Darmine.
Seeing this, Darmine continued.
"I heard about the battle, but I can't understand why you let them use that dead body. There are many things you could learn from the Spirit Channeling."
Juny hummed in agreement before leaning back.
She looked at the ceiling before smiling.
"I just felt bad for them."
Darmine gently tilted her small head.
"Felt bad? You saved them, didn't you?"
Juny chuckled before looking back down.
"Darmine, we are a secret organization made out of Wild Beyonders."
Darmine nodded, she was very well aware of that.
"Do you know anything about the procedures of the officials?"
Darmine shook her head, she was just a cat after all.
Juny looked back up at the ceiling, still smiling with amusement.
"They're going to have to report it. Just reporting that they made a very bad choice due to poor judgment will not be enough. They were almost killed and had to be saved by an unknown organization."
Juny's head turned back down, meeting eyes with the curious cat.
"Not only that, but one of the people present was most likely the leader of said organization. And that person let the two go without asking for anything."
"If that were the case, they would be suspected for having ties to this unknown organization. Especially because a member of that organization just happened to reveal their name."
Seemingly catching on, Darmine made a gentle purring sound, amused.
Juny showed her teeth before finishing.
"Can you imagine, if after all that long report, you've got nothing about the actual Sanguine abductions? That'd be just embarrassing."
Juny then lifted her hand, gesturing.
"That's why now they'll at least have something to show. It might even overshadow the stupid decision in the beginning. After all, the end always justifies the means. And now, even our friendliness can be explained as explicit want to cooperate. They won't be too suspected or punished."
Darmine nodded her small head, pleased.
"You're a good person."
Juny snorted, looking back at the cat.
"I just have a conscience."
...
Juny gently tapped the desk.
'Hmm. I should give the promised Bard potion to Tarkel.'
Juny's days were mostly about observing and stalking.
Although she did learn quite a bit, it wasn't anything entertaining.
As expected, the Viscount was indeed supported by the Rosary Road.
They believe in the Primordial Moon and from what Juny gathered, they need pure-blooded Sanguine for a sacrificial ritual.
'It might have something to do with my previous intervention? That's why they're in such a hurry? But still... is the leading Sanguine an idiot?'
It's been three boring weeks since Juny's meeting with the Fertility Order's Beyonders.
The current date was 20th April, meaning Tarkel's 13th birthday will be in one day.
Not only her everyday life, but even the Tarot gatherings were anticlimactic.
Except for Juny, noone brought any new Roselle's diary pages.
Although Miss Justice did mention connections to two new Beyonders and thus widened her Beyonder circle.
She also did her best to recommend them and let them join the Tarot Club.
Juny hummed and looked down at the desk.
She planned to visit Ellone and then Daimira.
Juny finished many Spell Scrolls, so it was time to distribute them.
'Also Shake asked for some special ones... I'll have to pull an all-nighter. Well, I don't HAVE to. I am not low on time after all.'
Amidst her thought organization, Juny walked out of her Pocket Dimension and went down the stairs.
'We are not the kind that takes birthdays seriously. And Tarkel also doesn't seem like the type. I'll just get him a cake and the Bard potion ingredients.'
'The Mysticism knowledge he has is already at the intermediate level anyway.'
Juny nodded while exiting the house.
'Darmine is still spending most of her time monitoring the Viscount, and madam Mailey is also concentrating her attention on the Viscount's activities. We've pretty much got his entire schedule marked.'
'Mmm, Dager's been scarily calm these weeks... what is he up to? His clothes also stopped being so dirty. But now that I think about it, he's been asking for a lot of low level materials used as Supplementary ingredients for Low-Sequence potions... he knows they're also cursed, right?'
'Then there's also the Sanguine Villia... she ended up in Daimira's Battle Patrol. She took the title of a Historian... damn it's getting complicated.'
'Mariel, the Instructor, joined Degster's Patrol. And uh, Tarkel said he wanted to be a Chaplain? That's something with faith, right? It's a real title, so I'm not against it, but I don't believe in a god.'
'Well whatever, he chose to be under the Assistant Scoutmaster Ellone. I think Ellone and Dager were arguing about who was Senior and who was Junior Assistant Scoutmaster? Yea... Ellone ended up at the Senior Scoutmaster. That's good.'
'And Dager, he mentioned someone named Valler? A Sequence 9 Sailor? He's asking for Advancement materials. He's such a pain.'
Juny's thoughts wandered as she remembered her position as a Scoutmaster.
She stopped before a medical hall and knocked.
The door opened and Juny saw the absolutely stunning Ellone.
Ellone wasn't very good at acting like a Vampire, but she did pretty good job nonetheless.
After exchanging greetings, Juny entered.
She flinched, noticing the short-furred cat sitting on a couch.
Juny then looked around, strangely enough, there were no patients around.
'Have they already treated everyone? No wait... why is Darmine here?'
Juny felt that something strange was going on.
Moving her eyes around, Juny saw a large dog.
'No- isn't that a wolf? What the hell?'
Juny slowly swallowed her unease before looking towards Darmine and Ellone.
'Now that I think about it, those two have been cooperating for a while... what are they up to? And why is there a wolf h- ...No way, right?'
For some reason, Juny felt a shiver creeping up her spine.
She turned to the wolf and then to Darmine.
Noticing this, Darmine spoke confidently.
"I found my new assistant!"
Juny did her upmost so that her expression would not crumble.
She turned to the wolf.
"This guy? This non-human guy?"
Darmine nodded.
"Of course he's not human. What human would work under a cat."
Subconsciously, Juny nodded.
'That's right, it makes sense, b-but...'
Ellone, unaware of Juny's inner monologue, saw Juny's cold expression.
Ellone immediately thought Juny found it unpleasant, so she spoke up.
"Don't worry, Juny. Kalim is very smart, he want's to join."
Juny's calm eyes moved to look at Ellone.
"Is that so?"
Her voice was staid but her insides were boiling.
'Is this okay? I mean, Darmine, I thought she was an exception! And, Kalim? He has a name already? And how do you know he wants to join? Why are you going around recruiting innocent animals?!'
Juny worried that she was partaking in animal experimentation or/and abuse.
She slowly spoke.
"It's dangerous, you know? He might die."
It was then, that Juny heard a loud bark.
Juny flinched and looked around, locking eyes with the wolf.
'W-well, he's technically taller than me, isn't he? He could probably bite my head off... wait, can this big wolf be a spectator?'
Unlike the small and normal cat, Darmine, this was a wolf.
A big, scary wolf. It was a wolf people wouldn't ignore.
"Darmine, is it okay to have him join the Scout Patrol?"
Juny let her concerns show and Darmine quickly disregarded them.
"It's fine, he won't attack."
"No..."
'It's not like he's the only one who'll try to attack.'
Juny quickly stopped her thoughts from leaving her mouth.
Looking at the fierce wolf, Kalim, Juny rubbed the bridge of her nose.
'Yea. It's fine. It's good. I'm used to this. We're a bizarre organization to begin with.'
Juny nodded at her own conclusion before looking back at Darmine.
"Which Pathway?"
To be honest, Juny could understand Darmine's reasoning.
She's been the busiest these past few weeks. Having to monitor the Viscount all alone.
Darmine deserved an Assistant Scout Patrol Leader, so Juny was willing to provide the ingredients.
Seeing Juny not arguing, Darmine felt glad.
"The Sleepless Pathway."
Juny suddenly felt glad that it was not the Spectator Pathway. After all, there's no way that Darmine would forget Kalim's looks.
Juny nodded and fell into thought.
'Although the Midnight Poet phase might be hard while acting, he'd do good job acting as a Nightmare. And Sleepless is not hard.'
Juny nodded, satisfied with Darmine's choice.
A Scout Patrol needed someone... yes, someone who didn't need much sleep.
Juny looked at Kalim and then at Ellone and Darmine.
She held back her sigh at the absurdity and instead opened door into the Dimensional Space.
"I'll be right back."
Darmine and Ellone nodded with grateful expressions.
As Juny went around the Storage, grabbing the ingredients, se felt a bad foreboding that this was not the last time she would be making a potion for an animal.
'One of these days, the animal will go crazy and mutate, and I'll get a headache.'
Although complaining, Juny conducted the potion with great precision.
As she exited the Dimensional Space, Juny controlled her emotions and placed the bowl down.
Seeing this, the wolf Kalim moved closer and began drinking.
'This is normal, this is normal. Every secret organization has a Beyonder animal or two... yes... even Miss Justice has one. Yes... this is normal.'
For unknown reasons, Juny felt her common sense breaking. She could almost hear the shattering sound.
But as a professional Transmigrator and a 10 year-old leading a secret organization, Juny ignored it.
As she watched Kalim finish the Potion and sit still with closed eyes, Juny looked at Darmine.
"It might take him a while till he learns speech. He's taken a different potion from you after all."
"Hello."
"WHA'DA'FAK?!!"
Juny jumped at the unknown voice, instinctively distancing herself a few meters away.
Kalim looked at her with a tilted head.
'Is that normal? That doesn't seem normal? Huh?'
For the first time in a long while, Juny was genuinely questioning reality.
Seeing Juny's highly alerted and defensive stance, Ellone felt bad.
"Juny, we- I mean- I taught him some words before, he's really smart, he managed to make similar sounds even before he drank the potion. It's that his pronunciation got better after drinking the potion."
"What the hell are you teaching the animals?!"
Juny couldn't keep up her calm act anymore as she felt genuinely concerned.
No matter how much she thought about it, this was unprecedented even in all the Beyonder records she looked through before.
Seeing Juny's combined expression of distress and exasperation, Darmine lowered her head apologetically.
"I'm sorry, we should've warned you beforehand."
Ellone also bowed her head with a shameful expression.
Juny slowly calmed down her agitation and looked at Kalim.
At some point in time, the wolf also bowed his head.
Juny slowly exhaled and began taking out Spell Scrolls.
Hearing the sigh, the human and two animals looked up.
"Okay, fine. Darmine, make sure to send Kalim to my classes every day. Also take these, I heard you ran out so I made more."
Juny spoke as if nothing happened as she handed out the Spell Scrolls.
'Even a wolf needs education in mysticism! ...How should I teach him Spiritual Vision? I think there should be a book on it somewhere- No... who would make a book about that?! I'll just figure something out.'
Juny, feeling defeated, swore to never be surprised no matter what the development would be in the future.
Thinking about 'How?' and 'Why?' was too time-consuming for the busy Juny.
So just accepting it and worrying about how to make it work was more important.
Juny ignored the destruction of her sensibleness taking place inside of her head.
She was used to it.
...
After hearing a tired voice inviting him in, Bedrich carefully opened the door and entered the captain's office.
"Captain, you called?"
Craider looked up, dark circles underlining his tired eyes.
"Yes, Bedrich. I received an answer from the upper echelons of the Church."
Noticing the pause, Bedrich probed.
"What did they say."
Craider sighed and massaged his temples.
"They told us to try and keep a harmonious relationship with the Abyssal Troop."
Bedrich nodded, not too surprised.
"So we should be friendly."
Craider put down his hand and nodded.
"Pretty much. It's unreasonable to hunt them. Since all they've done was provide us with information, stop Evil God's believers and rescue the innocents."
"And they didn't spread or showed symptoms of worshipping an Evil God, so there's a high chance they believe in the Earth Mother."
Bedrich nodded, it was a reasonable assumption.
Craider looked down at the documents spread across the desk before mumbling.
"Also... we don't know the entire scope of their strength."
Bedrich slowly nodded, it was the truth.
He's never heard about an ability to turn yourself into a complete shadow and even change your voice.
It might not seem like a very strong ability, but the fact that not even the upper echelons could identify it, was troubling.
Craider looked back up.
"Have you discovered anything new?"
Bedrich was silent for a moment, touching his Ashy-blond hair.
"No sir. We have yet to identify the noble behind the disappearance, but I have looked through the records and discovered something about the so-called Rosary Road."
Craider nodded, signaling for him to continue.
"They first made their appearance four years ago, but the've been quiet for total of two years until now. They began acting up less than a few months ago."
Craider sighed, rapping the table with inconsistent rhythm.
"There's nothing to take note of... I wonder how the Abyssal Troop got the information about the boss."
'I wonder if we can contact them somehow... No! What am I thinking!'
Craider quickly shook away his thoughts.
He gestured towards the office's door.
"You can go."
Bedrich nodded, bidding a polite farewell.
Hearing the door click, Craider couldn't help but sigh out loud.
He was getting desperate, so his common sense was lost for a second.
His gaze slowly moved towards the stack of documents next to him.
Craider immediately felt his headache acting up.
'Too much work.'
...
Juny narrowed her eyes, looking Tarkel up and down for the fourth time.
The short boy nervously sidestepped, unsure of what Juny was thinking.
He has celebrated his 13th birthday happily, it was his first birthday after being bedridden for years, after all.
But now that the celebrating lunch ended and Ellone said it was time for the gifts, Tarkel felt that something was wrong.
Juny just stood there, looking him up and down with a frown.
Just when he couldn't take it any longer, Juny moved her eyes away and pulled out a black box.
"Are you sure about this?"
Hearing her question, Tarkel felt joyful.
He quickly nodded his head with a wide smile.
"Yes! Thank you!"
He didn't have to ask to know what was inside of the box.
He clearly remembered Juny's promise.
Juny was still frowning as she watched the curly-haired boy open the box.
'I don't feel good about this...'
Still, Juny didn't feel great about giving a young teenager a Beyonder Potion.
But she couldn't take it back since Tarkel has already began conducting the potion.
Juny found his expert-like approach troublesome.
If Tarkel made even the smallest mistake, Juny could use it to postpone his Advancement, but...
'I thought him too well.'
Juny wasn't being egoistical, she was speaking her own feelings.
No matter how much she thought about it, this young teenager was too good at making the potion.
Tarkel observed the finished golden liquid with a happy face.
Juny made a displeased expression as Tarkel gulped the potion down without a second thought.
'Why the hurry...?'
Juny pushed her bitterness aside as she took out the Spell Scrolls.
There were ways to stop someone from losing control or going crazy.
One's potion ingestion could also be helped, but... doing so was inefficient.
In this world of madness, taking the easy way out never played out well in the long run.
To Juny's contentment, Tarkel advanced to Sequence 9 Bard without any issues.
Although even an hour after Advancing, Juny made multiple checkups and tests to ensure Tarkel was truly fine.
Seeing this, Dager made a complicated expression.
"I don't remember her being so careful with us- ow!"
Ellone skillfully hit the back of her brother's head, as if it was natural.
She didn't feel any distaste toward Juny's behavior.
She found it reassuring, that the young Tarkel will be alright.
Ellone often remembered the sight of a dying young boy, ready to do anything to survive.
He was now smiling almost all the time and Ellone could feel the happiness of living radiating from him.
She was truly glad Tarkel was alive.
Although, thinking about how Tarkel planned to take on a Chaplain title and work under Ellone, she felt a bit embarrassed.
Confirming that Tarkel's spirituality was steady, Juny finally stepped back.
"Congratulations, you're officially a Beyonder. I hope you won't be reckless."
Although Juny spoke in a half-hearted tone, Tarkel's smile was wide.
"Thank you!"
Juny sighed and looked at the two siblings.
Her and Dager locked eyes.
Juny sighed again and pulled a Sequence 8 Potion formula from underneath her coat.
Seeing this, Dager's expression turned much brighter.
He reached out but before he could grab it, Juny pulled away.
"Don't be reckless."
Dager flinched after meeting Juny's genuinely displeased glare.
He quickly nodded as he took the paper.
"Sure, of course."
Juny sighed for the third time and turned her head to look at the long haired girl with pure green eyes.
"Airina, give this to Madam Mailey."
With that, Juny took out a different Sequence 8 Potion formula.
Confused, Airina took it.
Seeing this, Juny explained.
"It's Telepathist Potion formula. The butler doesn't need to take it if he doesn't want to. Tell Madam Mailey that she may exchange it for something else as a payment for the information on Viscount Buttery."
Although Airina was sure that her mother wasn't expecting payment, she didn't reject it and nodded.
With that done, Juny turned away and looked at the ceiling.
'There are still some people to take care of.'
'First of all, there's Natia, the Assistant Patrol Leader under Degster. She's a Sequence 8 Doctor. Although she'll take a while more, I should still give her the Potion formula beforehand.'
'Although Degster is a good Interrogator, he's still far from finishing his digestion. Then there's Mariel the Clown... I heard she's having trouble finding the acting principles. Although acting as a cheerful clown helped, it wasn't really it.'
'I could look into it, but she wouldn't accept help, and I also don't think helping is the way to do it.'
'Lancer, the Mystery Pryer under Daimira, is pretty much done digesting, I'll let him Advance before taking action against the Viscount.'
'Then there's the Archeologist Jenica and the Apothecary Gen. they aren't done digesting yet. Gen is not a very good Apothecary.'
'Yes... I'll get Kein the Potion formula for Sequence 7 Detective. I'm pretty sure he's done digesting anyway. He's just got too much pride to report it.'
'Hmm. My own digestion is a bit too fast. Although I did push myself enough to almost lose control a few times, it still feels too fast... I think if I do well with the Viscount, I will be able to Advance...'
Having finished her thoughts, Juny gave herself a light nod and offered the other four, plus a cat, a farewell.
With a gentle hum, Juny entered the Dimensional Space before walking around the Storage.
Juny pulled a few drawers as she checked the materials inside.
She had around 5 of every Low-Sequence Beyonder ingredient/characteristic.
This did not include The Void Pathway, she had much more of it, but she never plans to offer it to anyone.
Juny also had plenty of Sequence 8 and 9 Beyonder characteristics from the Moon, the Tyrant and the Black Emperor Pathways.
That was mainly thanks to the Beyonders from the Rosary Road.
From Sequence 7 to Sequence 5, there is a range from 4 to 1, of every Beyonder ingredient/characteristic.
Sequence 7 sometimes ranges beyond 5, but that's also because of the Rosary Road.
And unfortunately, as a Sequence 5, Juny was not allowed entry into the deeper parts of the Storage.
When she tried walking further to look for information about the High-Sequence of The Void Pathway, Juny almost lost control.
It was an unpleasant experience.
Juny wasn't completely sure how the limitation works, but she was quite positive that the Dimensional Space caused a reaction with the Beyonder Characteristic inside of her body.
Thus, when she fully digests the potion, she'll be allowed entry. Or that's what Juny thinks.
Juny hummed and grabbed a Melee Scholar's Beyonder characteristic.
She then sat behind the desk and quickly scribbled two papers.
One was a Melee Scholar Potion formula and the other Detective Potion formula.
With that out of the way, Juny sighed and left.
With a light tear, Juny's body turned illusory and her vision saturated.
She soon found herself in a high hallway with a gothic theme.
With a light hum, Juny knocked on the furthest room.
"Yes?"
A voice sounded from the other side, it was beautiful and harmonious.
Juny smiled.
"It's me."
"Ah. Juny, come on in!"
Juny pushed the door open, looking at the beautiful lady sitting by the window, overlooking the Feynapotter city.
"Hello there."
Daimira nodded with a smile and returned the greeting.
"Good afternoon, Juny."
Closing the door behind her, Juny walked over and placed the black box in front of Daimira.
Daimira's eyes narrowed as she opened it.
Inside was a piece of paper, a Beyonder Characteristic and a pair of glasses.
Daimira, who immediately understood, showed her appreciation.
"Thanks, I'll give it to him as soon as he get's back."
Juny nodded, not asking where he was, before sitting down opposite Daimira.
"Tarkel liked the gift you sent. I didn't expect you to actually do that."
Daimira chuckled.
"I'm glad he liked it."
Juny's eyes moved outside the wide window.
The Feynapotter city was large, but it could be seen entirely from Daimira's mansion.
It was truly beautiful.
Well the credit went mainly to the fact that they believed in the Earth Mother that the air was so clean.
Of course, the city had factories, but they were very ecological, and the truly bad ones were quite a distance from the city.
Juny's eyes wandered before stopping at a particular district.
The houses there were very rich-looking.
"I talked to Darmine and Airina. Madam Mailey said that the Viscount is hosting a large Ball in two weeks on Saturday."
Daimira hummed, following Juny's gaze.
Hearing the hum, Juny continued.
"I plan to kill him then."
Daimira flinched, looking back towards Juny.
"What?"
Juny sighed before smiling.
"I'll kill him as well as anyone else who's on his side. So I'll need you, Lancer and Villia to rescue the Sanguines."
She kept her eyes on a particular street and maybe even a particular mansion.
"There will be many Beyonders there, maybe even a Sequence 5. I'll send Dager to be on the lookout."
Daimira kept her gaze on Juny, not looking back outside the window.
"Do we know where they're being kept?"
Juny gently nodded.
"It's under a wooden house on the Viscount's property."
Daimira frowned, as if contemplating something.
There was silence for a while before she finally spoke.
"Juny... there is a high chance the Sanguines will be corrupted."
Juny opened her mouth, not changing her expression.
"I know."
"What should I do then?"
Daimira clenched her hand into a fist.
Juny looked away, locking eyes with Daimira.
"If they resist rescue, kill them."
"Juny!"
Daimira stood up, raising her voice.
Juny couldn't help but sigh.
"Right now. I don't have a way to get rid of the corruption. I can look, but the chance of success is terribly low."
Right now. I don't have a way to get rid of the corruption. I can look, but the chance of success is terribly low."
She would also like to avoid killing the innocent Sanguine, but there wasn't a way.
Daimira slowly sat back down, unsure how to respond.
Juny slowly leaned back into her seat, looking up at the ceiling.
"At this point, there will be over forty Sanguine down there. Who knows how many have survived until now."
"The Fertility Order is also not doing anything. They probably still don't know about the Viscount."
Daimira listened with a sunken expression.
After a while, Juny sighed and moved her eyes off the ceiling.
"I'll get going now."
Daimira nodded and offered a smile.
"Goodbye."
Juny returned the nod.
"Goodbye."
She then tore a Spell Scroll and disappeared.
Daimira stared at the empty place for a second longer before turning to look outside.
She still had a bad taste in her mouth.
After all, the Sanguine were different from the humans.
There were too many humans for them to feel attachment to each and every one of their kind.
But the Sanguines are a minority. A hated minority.
Daimira was betrayed by her own kind, but even then, she couldn't imagine killing a Sanguine.
Murdering, or being the cause of death for a Sanguine was something that made Daimira feel sick.
It was common sense that killing one's own kind was unpleasant.
It was just that the humans thought of Sanguines as murderous monsters.
Daimira's eyes slowly scanned the room.
She stopped by a portrait above the fireplace.
It was a portrait of a beautiful lady and a handsome gentleman.
Their features were similar to Daimira, they were her parents.
Killing her own kind was something that made her feel sick.
'Yes... I can't kill a Sanguine.'
That's common sense.
