Two Petals of Demons

Chapter 15: The Deal of Petals

"CALM DOWN YOU THIRD RATE INSANE CREATURE" spewed Radal in frustration. "Well, what will it be, child?"

"I do not know. I am slightly scared right now. I will be honest. I am not feeling fine. I just do not know how to express them properly." Gil promptly replied to the hunter.

"Well then, sniff them. Gently through the nose and see the truth for yourself. Max to max what would happen, you would fall asleep. It is not like I can kill you for some enjoyment. The assignment states that I need to take the two of you in alive. It would be pointless for me to be stuck in here with two cold corpses. Also, godly bodies stink much more when they start to rot. It is the pleasant smell of ammonia and sulphur gases in the air that makes it much more fragrant. Therefore, there is no reason to panic. Just take the line of the powder." Radal told the boy.

Gil stared at the lined-up powder presented before him. Cuffed and unable to think of any other strategy, his soul sank. The Servant of Anubis was going to be snorting a dried-up petal of a dead flower. "Here it goes, then" Gil exclaimed.

Within immediate effect, there were flashing hallucinations that Gil witnessed. He felt a sharp throbbing pain around his neck almost choking him, around his heart and stomach and his back. Within an instant, he felt the same pain that you would experience when cutting off a body part within all the internal organs. With deep excruciating pain, his body began to tremble and Gil started to scream.

"HAHAHA, that's my boy!" exclaimed Radal seeing the reaction. He expected this to happen and then quickly turned to the girl.

Within Gil's head, he could feel his presence being summoned to the plane of existence. He begins to question the nature of the god that he serves and then the voice enters his head. "Rebellious I see. You have resorted to taking even the devil's fruit. I am willing to let you go with a second chance. Let my knowledge stay in your memory. I am Anubis. Egyptian God of the Death and the Guide to the Afterlife. I am your MASTER."

With that chant, the cloak reappears around Gil and sand slowly starts flowing out from where he is sitting.

Sakurai after realizing this, quickly snorts the powder and Radal's smile extends even further. The glee present on his face was comparable to a Jester's laugh after making a joke properly fall into the King's Courtroom.

Within Sakurai's mind, a different being of power arose, as she could hear a voice in her head. "Cheating your sacrifice I see. Such power should be maintained and checked. Thus, I allow myself to be revealed in your head. The Queen of the Underworld. I am Persephone. Let my knowledge guide me through this journey. Let Master help you."

Bearing the absolute pain they were experiencing and the newfound voices that had entered their head, they were now directly able to communicate with the gods that they served.

"YES! It worked! DAMN, I am so happy right now. I finally have test subjects that survived this experiment." Radal was jumping with joy but was faced with the realization that he might need to neutralize them if the individuals decided not to join against Nanami. Readying his weapons, he quickly sprang into action.

"What is your resolve now?" he questioned the two captive beings.

Gil and Sakurai now gasping for air and uncontrollably shaking from the violent imagery they were presented with and the hallucinogenic nature of the powder, the two killbirds were not having a fun time. They were desperately trying to get out of the situation. The more and more it becomes terrible, the more slowly they realize that nothing is going to go according to what they want.

It seemed as though their masters already had their destinies decided for them.

Just as I am over here narrating this story to you, their gods have an ultimatum over the actions of the individuals they possess. In the end, what was the point of the entire thing, if everything was nigh?

"Raoul would have enjoyed this moment so much!" Radal exclaimed.

Both the individuals suddenly calmed down, drooping their necks and becoming unconscious for a moment.

Radal takes out awakening salt from his pocket and wakens the two of them.

"What is your final decision, younglings?" Radal questioned the two of them again.

The two of them stare at the bounty hunter and reply with an opposing statement.

"NO"

"I am not sure Radal."

The two of them glance at each other from the sides of their eyes and give a nasty look to each other.

In Anubis' plane, Gil questions his master. "Is this truly the right decision to make master?"

Anubis replies: This is not something that we can easily answer. There is neither a right nor a wrong in this matter. Replying with unsurely would greatly benefit you later. You are fit to be the don of dons.

In Kore's plane, Sakurai questions her master. "Must we oppose the hunter, master?"

Kore replies: Decisions made by that Celtic fool would only end in disaster. If a disaster is truly eminent as he states, it would be far better to hide within the comforts of the Underworld. Everyone soon returns there, so what should be the issue?

In the Celtic god's plane, Arawn questions Radal about the decision he is about to make.

Arawn: You do realize. The nature of this world and the decisions you make are all governed by us. Then why are you opposing such a rule with the way that Nanami is going to move forward? We may lose, but there's dignity in that losing, isn't it?

Radal replies in his head, "That may be true master, but at the end of everything, I want to exist in a world where the shackles that have bound cease to exist. This rebellion within me is what caused the sudden spike in my survival rate. I am just grateful that I have a master who is willing to co-operate with me.

Arawn replies: I am merely cooperating to see the fun in the game. I am not bowing to these miserable deeds that you wish to do. The moment you step out of line servant, I will not hesitate to terminate the contract and end your soul's existence.

"THEN SO BE IT!" Radal replies.
