Trembling At A High Altitude

Chapter 91: No Harm, No Foul

Under the director's urging, Daisy and the others waved goodbye and boarded a bus that had come to take her to the wax museum, quickly disappearing around the corner.

"That girl who just jumped down from the pillar, she didn't die?" Bunny Girl asked Li Teng, clearly puzzled.

"This Film and Television City is different from the real world; people here can't die. Even if they did, they could bring you back to life, but there would be a certain cost..." Li Teng explained briefly to the girl.

"Brought back to life after dying?" The girl was quite shocked.

"It's kind of like a game, right? If a character dies in the game, they can be resurrected at the spawn point, though they might lose equipment or money. Do you understand what I'm saying?" Li Teng added a few more sentences.

As the two were talking, the Black-hearted Doctor came storming around the corner.

"Are you the director of this production crew?"

After arriving, the Black-hearted Doctor immediately began interrogating the director.

"Yes, I am. Please, have a seat," the director commanded the Black-hearted Doctor.

"What right does your crew have to use a card to draft me into acting in your lousy films? This severely breaks the rules of Film and Television City!" the Black-hearted Doctor roared, pointing a finger at the director's nose.

The director's two bodyguards decisively stepped forward and restrained the Black-hearted Doctor, one on each side.

"I'm not sure why you ended up in my crew, but now that you're a part of it, you must follow the rules of Film and Television City and obey my orders! Otherwise, I will deal with you strictly according to the rules of Film and Television City," the director responded firmly to the Black-hearted Doctor.

"Fine! I won't argue here! But I definitely won't let this go!" the Black-hearted Doctor didn't dare resist any further and after threatening the director a few more times, gestured for the bodyguards to release him before sitting down at an empty chair by the coffee table.

"Let me introduce everyone to a special actor who joined our crew today. His name is Liu Huang, and he is a doctor from Film and Television City. For some reason, he has joined our crew. Today, he will enjoy the treatment accorded to an actor of the Middle Special Contract Group level," the director introduced him briefly to everyone.

"A doctor from Film and Television City?" Everyone was somewhat surprised.

Aside from Li Teng, none of the others had dealt with the hospital of Film and Television City before.

"Who is Li Teng?" Liu Huang, the Black-hearted Doctor, asked, looking around at everyone by the coffee table after sitting down.

Li Teng rolled his eyes; it seemed that after using the companion card, the target could see the traces.

"That's him." Huang Xun quickly pointed at Li Teng and then smiled obsequiously at Liu Huang.

The others also instinctively looked at Li Teng... Could this doctor also be here to seek revenge on Li Teng? How many people had Li Teng offended?

In the real world, offending Guo Zhipeng was one thing, but to come to Film and Television City and offend a doctor as well?

"You look very familiar! Have we met before?" Liu Huang glared at Li Teng with anger.

"I don't think so? I don't remember," Li Teng shook his head, pretending to be confused.

"I remember you now! You were treated at my place a few days ago; I saved your life. You glared at me ungratefully and looked hateful. It was you who used the companion card on me, right? To make me act? To get revenge? That's really childish! Do you know what happens to those who cross me?" The Black-hearted Doctor, Liu Huang, suddenly understood what was going on.

The others, listening, also understood more or less.

It seemed that the previous incident where Li Teng ended up severely injured wasn't just a sob story; it actually happened. Moreover, Li Teng somehow got his hands on a card or some special prop to pull this doctor, who had swindled him, into the crew!

He really was incredibly bold.

"Haha, you dare to offend even the life-saving doctor! And you brought him to the crew? You're truly asking for trouble!" After understanding the situation, Huang Xun immediately took the opportunity to relish the misfortune.

"You abuse your power, forcefully collecting exorbitant treatment fees from new actors for personal gain. That's not very ethical! Don't you think you owe us an explanation?" Anna spoke up, questioning the black-hearted doctor Liu Huang. After figuring out his identity, Anna also quickly understood the grievance between Li Teng and him.

"You dare to provoke me? What's your name?" Liu Huang did not address Anna's questions but immediately started to intimidate her.

"I'm not provoking you; I am just expressing my doubts. Please answer my question, did you commit those serious violations?" Anna reasoned with Liu Huang.

"This has nothing to do with anyone else, I was the one who brought you here, let's be clear, I wanted to kill you. Of course, if I couldn't kill you and instead you killed me, that would be my fate." Li Teng stopped Anna.

"Hahahaha... someone wants to kill me! A mere extra wants to kill me! That's hilarious! Hahahaha... Don't you guys find it funny?" The black-hearted doctor Liu Huang burst into laughter, then turned to look at Huang Xun beside him. He had just overheard what Huang Xun had said, feeling that among these people, Huang Xun was the 'sensible' one.

"Yeah! Too funny! Completely ignorant of reality! Asking for trouble!" Huang Xun quickly sneered flirtatiously at Liu Huang again.

In the past, he had clung to Guo Zhipeng's coattails, but Guo Zhipeng died, then he clinged to Guo's mother, and she died too, then he latched onto Feng Dahai, thinking it was secure, but Feng Dahai also died.

Huang Xun was internally panicking a lot now.

This time, Li Teng had dared to actively provoke an employee of the Film and Television City, resulting in him bringing a massive advantage to Huang Xun who, desperate for protection, decisively clung to him.

Having no choice, he had already completely offended Li Teng, now he could only hope that someone else would take down Li Teng, otherwise he would have a hard time making a name for himself in this crew.

"Silence!"

The director spoke.

Liu Huang wore a look of disdain but said nothing more.

"Everyone is here now."

"This performance, like the last one, is still a confrontational performance."

"Each confrontational performance script is different."

"But the rules are more or less the same."

"Those on both sides of the performance belong to two camps, and the final score rewards also have a betting nature."

"I assume everyone here is fairly familiar with the rules of confrontational performance," the director spoke.

"I don't know." The black-hearted doctor Liu Huang raised his hand, admitting his ignorance, and intentionally interrupting what the director was saying.

"I will give everyone half an hour to go to the terminal machines on the street to watch a video recap of the last confrontational performance, to familiarize yourselves with the rules of confrontational performance. You must return here in half an hour," the director announced as he checked the time.

The actors went to the street, each finding a terminal.

The performance video indeed contained footage from the last confrontational performance, both complete and various edited versions.

On playing the video, there were text descriptions included, making it clear, so that even new actors, after watching, could more or less understand the rules of confrontational performance.
