Trembling At A High Altitude

In the middle of the island lay a mountain.

Below the mountain was a forest.

The mountain was not very tall, only a few dozen meters higher than the beach side.

Atop the mountain was a building. The sky had already darkened, making it hard to discern clearly from afar, but one could make out a large gate with some big characters next to it.

Similar images were in the newspaper photos; it must be the gate to the psychiatric hospital.

Heading to the psychiatric hospital after dark was obviously not a good idea.

Even if they wanted to look for plot clues, it would be safer to wait until daylight to go in.

The beach was unsafe, and the mountain was too daunting.

So everyone had no choice but to stay in the forest between the beach and the mountain.

Luckily, they had not seen any photos related to this forest before, which might mean it was relatively safer.

No one could assert there were no hidden dangers inside.

The island's temperature was not too low, and although the people were dressed lightly, they did not need to consider the issue of making a fire.

Everyone sat down on the forest floor in a circle, trying to give each other courage.

A gust of wind blew from deep within the forest, feeling like a chilly breeze. The female actors let out terrified screams, then squeezed closer to each other.

"There's someone over there!" a female actor said in alarm, pointing to the depths of the forest.

Following the direction of her pointing finger, everybody looked.

Indeed, there was someone! Disheveled, with an indistinct face, resembling the fifth girl in the photographs quite a bit.

Li Teng turned on his flashlight and shone it in that direction.

Perhaps realizing she had been exposed, the disheveled girl quickly disappeared into the darkness deep in the forest.

The female actors became even more unsettled, with everyone in a state of sheer panic.

Just then, another gust of wind blew towards them, bringing along some rubbish, old plastic bags, and some sheets of paper.

A few pieces of paper fell near several female actors, who instinctively reached out to pick them up.

The female actors passed the collected paper and photographs to Li Teng. Li Teng laid them on the ground and shone his flashlight on them for everyone to examine. They discovered that these sheets were the same as the ones they had found on the yacht, also cut from newspapers, comprised of articles or photos.

It was another building on the island, a standalone structure with nice decor, nestled in the forest near the beach, with a bathroom, kitchen, and even a small outdoor swimming pool.

According to the article, this was a private residence built on the island by the owner of the psychiatric hospital.

There was nothing terrifying in the photos.

Looking at these pictures, Li Teng's brow slightly furrowed.

He had a bit of an impression; it seemed like the scene from the photos was what he had seen when coming up from the beach side earlier. This meant that the building should be close by, somewhere in the forest around them.

Another photo confirmed Li Teng's thought.

Judging from the orientation of the psychiatric hospital's gate in the picture, the private house should be near them.

Staying in the forest at night was not safe, for they might encounter the fifth girl.

If they could make it to that house, it would be relatively safer.

Li Teng decided to explore nearby, searching for the location of that house.

The actresses didn't want to split up from him and decided to explore with him.

So, Li Teng led the way, with the group of them holding hands behind him, looking around in extreme fear as they walked.

For those who were participating in a performance at Film and Television City for the first time, this was indeed no easy task.

Their first performance, and it was in such a horror movie, an immersive horror movie, that those without enough courage could truly be scared to death.

Li Teng always seemed very calm, not because he wasn't afraid of monsters and female ghosts and the like, but because he had experienced too much; he knew that fear was useless at this moment, and it was better to focus on finding clues or a safe place to avoid the dangers.

What surprised everyone was that they didn't walk for long in the woods, about only fifty meters or so, before they arrived outside the private mansion.

The mansion had two stories, all glass structure.

Li Teng easily climbed over the exterior wall and, after getting inside, opened the bolt to let everyone in, then re-fastened it.

There was a swimming pool in the yard, and the water looked very clean, as if it had just been changed.

The front door of the mansion wasn't locked, it opened with a push, and after entering, it could be locked from the inside, so they didn't have to worry about any person or monster rushing in.

"Could this be some kind of trap?" Elsa asked Li Teng after entering.

"Hard to say, but we don't have a better place to go," Li Teng was noncommittal.

After entering the house, Li Teng led everyone upstairs and downstairs to look around.

The main purpose was to figure out whether there was anyone else or hidden dangers inside.

They finally confirmed that there was no one inside the entire private mansion.

The house being brightly lit was a bit strange.

Maybe it was just due to having too much money to care?

There was no sound of a generator, and the electricity was likely supplied from the psychiatric hospital.

The mansion covered a large area, with each floor being two hundred square meters.

The outer walls were made of transparent glass, but the interior room partitions were all frosted glass, which only allowed a vague shadow of a person to be seen from the outside.

The first floor was the living room, then there was a very large dining room, as well as a kitchen, bathroom, and so on.

The second floor was a lounge, divided into four rooms by frosted glass walls, with two beds in each room, as well as a separate bathroom and toilet.

It was perfect for eight people to sleep, but since Li Teng was the only man, the rooms were difficult to allocate.

It wasn't clear why the private mansion was designed like this, as if it knew eight people would be staying there.

But now wasn't the time to think about that.

In the kitchen, there were prepared ingredients that looked relatively fresh.

For everyone who had been tossing around for several hours, the most important thing now was to have a good meal.

"Look quick! That woman has appeared again! She's right outside the glass wall!" one of the actresses in the living room screamed loudly.

Everyone followed the direction she pointed and saw, indeed, the fifth woman appeared in the courtyard, head bowed, step by step approaching the glass wall.

It wasn't known how she got past the iron bars, and whether the house's glass wall could stop her.
