Chapter 250: Newspapers (3620 Sheets)
"Speak up, what do you want to ask?" Li Teng didn't turn around but sat down in the driver's seat, pretending to continue looking into whatever malfunction had occurred with the yacht.
The female actors started asking questions all at once.
Li Teng wasn't a regular actor in this troupe, and after the performance was over, he couldn't earn paid question-and-answer points within this group. So he tried to answer most of their questions as best as he could.
Of course, the questions they could ask right now were quite limited.
"Alright, now I'm giving you all a task. Go search around in the cabin and see if you can find any useful clues." Li Teng gave them a few instructions after most of their questions had been answered.
These new female actors were quite obedient, showing respect for Li Teng, the veteran. When Li Teng assigned them to look for clues, they really left the cockpit chattering and went in search of clues.
"Liu Yin." Li Teng called out.
"Oh." Liu Yin stopped in her tracks.
"Come here." Li Teng gestured to Liu Yin.
"Hmm." Liu Yin walked up to Li Teng.
Li Teng sized up Liu Yin, confirming that although she resembled her sister, the difference between them was actually quite significant.
"What are you looking at?" Liu Yin, dressed in a swimsuit, felt somewhat embarrassed being sized up by Li Teng like this.
"You've gotten younger, and you haven't even asked me?" Li Teng teased Liu Yin.
"Too many people, it wasn't convenient to ask. Director Liu helped you become young again, right?" Liu Yin was actually quite concerned about this matter but had never had the chance to be alone with Li Teng.
"It's more or less like that. I ran into your sister at the new troupe."
"Oh?"
"She seems to care a lot about you, asking many questions about your recent situation." Li Teng thought for a moment before speaking a few sentences.
"Really?" Liu Yin looked somewhat skeptical.
"Yes, she said the relationship between you two isn't very good on the surface. She feels she hasn't done well as the elder sister and always carries a sense of guilt when mentioning you." Li Teng, being on good terms with both sisters, wanted to help ease their strained relationship whenever he had the chance.
"How could that be? She has always hated me and never shown me a good attitude." Liu Yin frowned.
"Maybe the environment has changed? Don't you have anything you want to say to her? I can pass on the message if I see her again." Li Teng felt the sisters' relationship was even more strained than he had imagined.
"What is there to say to her... There's nothing to say." Liu Yin muttered after thinking for a while.
"Really nothing to say?" Li Teng was at a loss now.
"If you see her, just tell her to read more books. She's twenty years old but still so rebellious, always acting like an unruly child... Ah, forget it, don't pass it on. Although I mean well, it will just end up with her wanting to beat me." Liu Yin shook her head with a troubled expression.
"Is she... doing alright? Her personality seems a bit stubborn, but surely she's not like an unruly child?" Li Teng had a resigned look on his face; the sisters' relationship seemed fraught with deep conflict, beyond his ability to mediate.
"Hmph, in front of others, she might hold back a bit, right? But she treats family like enemies, her kind is rare in this world." Liu Yin seemed to harbor deep resentment speaking of Liu Hui.
Li Teng had initially wanted to ask if Liu Yin's Best Actor father had contacted her, but considering their family issues might be complicated, he decided not to ask. What if her Best Actor father currently had the authority to protect only one daughter? If he had chosen Liu Hui and Liu Yin knew about it, she would definitely be heartbroken.
Perhaps Father Liu felt Liu Yin was more reliable, didn't worry about her as much, and thus focused on Liu Hui instead for the time being without attending to Liu Yin?
Liu Yin, though she was the younger sister, conducted herself with far more propriety than Liu Hui did.
At least, having lived together with him in a house for two months, Liu Yin hadn't caused any issues. Liu Hui, on the other hand, had spent less than three days with him and ended up being 'climbed' by him, the scoundrel, proving that Liu Yin's self-discipline was much stronger than Liu Hui's.
Their family matters should be resolved by themselves. He wasn't clear on the situation, and meddling blindly could only make things worse.
Two female actors walked in, saw Li Teng and Liu Yin standing close and talking, then backed out.
"Come in, it's okay," Li Teng waved the two female actors over.
"Senior, we found a newspaper that seems to be related to the plot," one of the female actors handed the newspaper to Li Teng.
"Oh, let me see."
Li Teng took the newspaper and looked it over.
The front page had a piece of news saying that a painter had taken two art school teachers, four female students, and a model to a certain island for a sketching trip, and that they met with a sea disaster where everyone was unfortunate.
"Met with misfortune? Does that mean all of us are ghosts?" Li Teng's mind raced.
The newspaper was found on the yacht, but the report didn't mention the yacht.
There was, however, a black and white group photo in it, with everyone's identity marked underneath.
Li Teng was marked as the painter, Elsa was marked as a teacher, Liu Yin was marked as a student, and everyone else was labeled with their respective roles.
However, there were nine people in the black and white photo, not eight.
The background seemed to be at the dock from where they departed. The ninth person stood behind everyone else, on higher ground, with only their head showing, messy hair all around, and since the black and white photo was blurry to begin with and the lighting where she stood wasn't very good, her face was completely indiscernible.
The label for this ninth person was also 'student'.
Did this mean that there were five students in their group, not four?
Looking at this newspaper and photo, Li Teng felt an inexplicable chill running down his spine.
He had a feeling that this deserted island trip might encounter something very terrifying.
After his Death God APP combatted the cheats in the Film and Television City, it was left with only the function of exchanging Life Resources for a younger peak state, and all other functions were scrapped—it was impossible to count on it to help against ghostly entities anymore.
Now, he could only rely on his courage and Wisdom to overcome such an ordeal.
Li Teng casually glanced at other articles in the newspaper and was quickly drawn to another news story.
The news mentioned a deserted island where a psychiatric hospital had been built decades ago.
For unknown reasons, the psychiatric hospital shut down after operating for five years.
Two years ago, someone bought the island and renovated the psychiatric hospital.
However, after the newly renovated psychiatric hospital reopened, a series of bizarre events occurred, with patients continuously disappearing and being found with only their limbs remaining.
The police dispatched two officers to investigate the island.
As it turned out, both of those officers went insane.
The psychiatric hospital was again ordered to close, and currently, most of the patients and medical staff have evacuated the deserted island, with only a few patients and medical staff waiting to be evacuated.
Li Teng guessed that this deserted island was probably the main filming location for their storyline.
It also explained the origin of 'Deserted Island Mysteries'.
