Trembling At A High Altitude

The actors exchanged glances, but no one answered her.

Wasn't that plot introduction too simplistic?

"It is said that this is a wilderness survival adventure and mystery-solving type of film, mainly about a painter who takes two art school teachers, four girls, and a model to paint on a certain island, but the ship runs into trouble and drifts to a deserted island far from the intended destination, where all sorts of strange events unfold." Seeing everyone's expressions, Xia Zhihui felt compelled to recite a few more lines from the brief introduction in the script.

"During the performance, if you don't understand something, you can ask... um, those three, the experienced actors, and you'll get it," Xia Zhihui said, pointing to Li Teng and the other two.

"You're actors, and the director is only responsible for arranging your performances. How you act and whether you do well is your own business, isn't it? Don't expect the director to take care of everything; the director isn't omnipotent. As an actor, you must have a clear sense of your own position, then use it to bring out your strengths. If you can't perform well, the director can't help you either," Xia Zhihui said, seemingly getting a bit angry as several newcomers still looked bewildered.

"Alright, it's about time. You should head to the teleportation chamber now to prepare to enter the filming location."

"I'll take them there," Li Teng volunteered.

"See, the quality of an experienced actor is different, much easier to manage," Xia Zhihui smiled at Li Teng.

"The director is busy; it's only right that I do this," Li Teng smiled back at Xia Zhihui.

"After the performance starts, they'll know nothing about the plot, so you'll have to put in a bit more effort," Xia Zhihui said to Li Teng.

"Mmm, I'll make sure everything is well arranged for Director Xia. Please be at ease," Li Teng vaguely figured out Director Xia's temperament. Although this was their only interaction, he still tried his best to maintain a good relationship—who knows if they might meet again in the future? Plus, with Liu Yin and Elsa under her, being on good terms with her might also make her treat Liu Yin and Elsa better.

"Hehe, that's great, no wonder Director Yuan always praises you. With you here, I'm reassured. Well, it's about time. You take them there, and after the performance, bring them back for a debrief."

They entered the teleportation chamber.

After lying down in the teleportation chamber, Li Teng's consciousness gradually became hazy.

The staff adjusted various parameters on the control panel screen...

The countdown digits kept changing, until at last, all the numbers turned to zero.

On the screen against the wall, some blurry images flickered into view.

Beach, deserted island, psychiatric hospital, severed limbs, faces filled with fear...

A soft electronic female voice sounded in the ears of the already bewildered audience.

It was like a dream, an illusion.

"Analyzing..."

"..."

"..."

"Body teleportation program initiating..."

"Initialization complete..."

"..."

When Li Teng woke up again, he found himself on a yacht.

Lying on the deck of the yacht.

He was wearing only a pair of swim trunks.

The female actors also lay haphazardly on the deck, all dressed in swimsuits.

Upon waking up, a few of the female actors noticed the scant amount of fabric their swimsuits had, screamed in an attempt to cover something, and then, seeing the others dressed almost the same, managed to calm themselves down.

Li Teng walked to the railing of the deck and looked out into the sea.

"What are you looking at?" Elsa approached Li Teng and asked.

"Checking where the deserted island is," Li Teng thought to himself at that moment, cursing inwardly.

When he had woken up earlier, the sight that met his eyes caused some unintentional embarrassing incidents, and to prevent the others from seeing him and thinking his mind was impure, he had to turn his back to them by the railing.

This swimsuit material is too loose, truly frustrating.

"We should first check the yacht's cockpit," Elsa suggested to Li Teng.

"Yeah, okay." Li Teng tried to control his thoughts towards purity, making his appearance seem more normal.

"When shall we go?" Elsa saw that Li Teng agreed but did not move, so she had to ask him again.

"Let's go now," Li Teng finally purified his thoughts, turned around, and saw Elsa...

And it was all for naught again.

Forget it, just let things go as they may, whatever they think.

Li Teng turned around and, together with Elsa, walked briskly toward the yacht's cockpit.

A few female actors looked at Li Teng as he turned around, then subconsciously glimpsed something and hurriedly looked away, pretending they didn't notice anything.

Li Teng pretended like nothing had happened and went straight to the yacht's cockpit.

The other female actors all shook their heads.

Liu Yin walked over with a red face. She didn't know much either, but at least she had been on a yacht before.

Wearing such a swimsuit didn't make her shy, but seeing Li Teng made her feel somewhat bashful, so she hadn't approached him of her own accord when she woke up.

"It seems, maybe, it's indeed broken?" Liu Yin fiddled with it and then reached this conclusion.

"So, we're going to let this yacht drift around aimlessly on the sea?" Elsa commented sarcastically.

"According to the plot, this yacht should drift to that deserted island on its own, right? We actually don't need to worry about it," Li Teng remarked.

"Alright, let's not bother with it, then, what do we do next?" Elsa asked Li Teng.

"Wait for a plot hint," Li Teng felt helpless under the circumstances, as Director Yuan had given them too few clues.

"Then... shall we go back up to the deck together?" Elsa glanced at the women on the deck.

"No need, I'll study in the cockpit for a bit," Li Teng declined Elsa's offer.

Staying in that kind of environment would be too embarrassing; he couldn't control the appearance of certain things.

"Okay." Elsa looked at Li Teng, and with a smile, left the cockpit together with Liu Yin.

Li Teng sighed deeply. This environment was really torture to his eyes and soul! It was better to keep some distance from them.

Right after he sighed, something was said on the deck by the group of female actors, and after a burst of laughter, they all walked into the cockpit, then looked expectantly at Li Teng, who was pretending to fix the cockpit with his back turned to them.

"Handsome! Turn around, will you? Talk to us about Film and Television City; Elsa and Liu Yin said you know the most."

"Yes, please help us out; we're acting for the first time, we don't understand anything, and we'll treat you to a meal with the points we get."

"Senior, please help us!"

After the group of female actors entered, they all besieged Li Teng with requests.
