My 2nd batch of skeleton soldier and skeleton archer also went inside the dungeon. They followed the mark that I had made using my deathly aura. My skeleton team would always know the location of Viktor and Elaine and this helped them prepare for the ambush a lot. The stage was ready what it needed the most now was the actors and the actors of this act were also steadily approaching the stage.
My dungeon exploration team had already went to different parts of the dungeon, enraged the mobs there and while being chased by 20 or so mobs ran towards Viktor and Elaine. My 2nd skeleton team had already arrived behind the pair and were ready to take action at any time. Everything until now had unfolded perfectly.
Viktor and Elaine still very relaxed, talked to each other. Suddenly there seemed to be a huge commotion. A group of skeleton soldier and skeleton hounds ran towards them. The group of skeletons were lead by a skeleton riding on what seemed like the remains of a hog. They were very surprised and their relaxed expression soon turned into the looks of horror.
The skeleton mobs were chasing all 3 of my dungeon exploration team but I had my skeleton soldier dig up some pits before hand and made other two jump into the pit while the angry skeleton mobs would chase the fastest member of dungeon exploration team, skeleton rider.
Some of the skeleton soldier and hounds percieved the changes and went after the hidden skeleton soldier and archer and were killed swiftly but most of them still followed skeleton rider.
Viktor and Elaine thought that a team of skeleton soldiers and hounds lead by a skeleton rider were here to engage in battle. They were getting ready for battle. Viktor took out his gun which shot magic bullets while Elaine summoned a shield and a mace.
After Viktor and Elaine came into the sight, skeleton rider also adjusted its speed. It was not too far from the angry mobs but was still untouchable by them. Skeleton rider delibrately brought all the skeleton mobs together.
After Viktor and Elaine came into plain sight, the skeleton mob went into frenzy as if someone had scolded their ancestors. They no longer cared about the running skeleton rider and rushed towards the two humans standing there looking confused, fear in their eyes.
It was like throwing out our old toys after getting new ones, skeleton mobs totally ignored skeleton rider and charged towards the pair of humans.
Viktor and Elaine engaged in battle. They were being attacked from all sides. Skeleton soldiers were brandishing their swords while the hounds were busy choosing the least defended areas and sinking their teeth in human flesh.
They killed some of the skeletons but were overwhelmedby the shear amount of enemies they were facing. Even Elaine's bulky shield could not totally protect her. They were slowly drowned in the sea of skeletons. And an opportunity opened for my dungeon exploration team.
The skeleton archers started firing arrows relentlessly, skeleton soldiers ran towards the mobs and started brandishing their swords and skeleton rider jumped in the fun too.
The mobs were killed in no time. The angry mobs were like defenseless chickens in the hands of a professional butcher, killed and prepared withing moments. Scattered bones and bone dust covered the battle field within a fraction of a second.
The plan was executed perfectly but it had some flaws too. If the skeleton mob had not diverted their attention away from my skeleton rider, it would have cost me a lot. Some of the mobs followed skeleton soldier and skeleton archer and caused some damage. This plan made me realize that relying on external forces to subdue enemies might end up causing us loose a fortune.
After the dust settled, my dungeon exploration team containing five members dragged two half dead human beings out of the pile of bone, tied them using the vines growing inside the dungeon and started moving towards the way they came from.
My extensively prepared gift was delivered to the pair. Now the only thing left was to ask whether the gift was to their liking or not.
