Chapter 174 Mirror Surface_3
He heard the Archbishop slap his forehead, suddenly saying, "Oh right, make sure to talk honestly with your family, deal with your affairs, maybe even make a will if you can—anyway, it's basically the same as dying."
What the hell kind of thing is that to say? Seriously unlucky.
Alka couldn't help but complain in his heart, though it was the truth.
"Also, don't go passing your Meditation Method around, unless the person you're teaching also wants to leave here.
If you keep using the Meditation Method without leaving the Homeland Sea, it's not going to end well."
Hearing this, Alka didn't really understand, but still nodded his head.
Then he said his goodbyes, impatiently leaving the church and hurrying toward the villa.
Even though he hadn't come back for over half a year, the road wasn't something he'd forget.
On the way, Alka's attention was completely unfocused on the path ahead.
He didn't even notice that the doll at his waist had already turned into Lucilia, who was now sitting on his shoulder, swinging her legs.
She would poke at the mirror stripe on his forehead from time to time.
He was still thinking about the treasure he had just received.
Other than making mirrors, the Mirror's main function is imitation.
The meaning of "imitation" here is actually pretty vague.
Alka can mimic other people's faces, so his own face can change—but the catch is, only his face changes.
He can disguise himself, but it isn't perfect. Anyone who knows him even a little would see through it easily.
Unless he finds someone with a very similar build to mimic.
But once you dig deeper, you realize that imitating other people's faces is actually the most basic and shallow ability.
Because it can also mimic other living beings.
Like various animals or different types of fish and such.
But what kind of abilities you actually get from specific imitations is a mystery—Alka has to figure that out for himself.
He's just like the Church right now: he only knows the general idea.
The specifics, just like with the Dream Catcher, have to be learned through hands-on practice before they become clear.
But honestly, this ability seems surprisingly powerful—not as weak compared to making mirrors as the Archbishop made it sound.
Thinking about all this, Alka arrived at Bobby's villa.
The gate in the yard was wide open at the moment.
Alka walked right in and entered the living room.
The living room was packed with people, everyone chatting happily.
Mostly Jason, bragging to Andre and Bobby about something.
After all, what they'd been through this time was probably a bigger score than Andre and Bobby would see in their entire lives.
You could already see the annoyance on their faces, since Jason was showing off like crazy right now.
Seeing Alka walk in with Lucilia on his shoulder, Chadite turned his head.
She immediately noticed the unusually eye-catching mirror on Alka's forehead, and thought of the pearl on Alka's chest.
Looks like Alka had gotten another treasure that suited him.
"Welcome back, Alka. Looks like you guys really scored big this time."
Having already heard Jason's boasting, Bobby said with a smile.
Alka grinned and walked over.
He hugged the two of them each in turn.
Then he started to chat casually with everyone, and after a while Bobby and Andre took their leave.
Even though Bobby's retired, his skills are still top-notch.
He has a cushy position at the Church too, and he enjoys doing light work in his retirement.
As for Andre, even though he lost an arm, that definitely doesn't make him useless.
Not to mention, at Andre's shoulder there's already a new arm made from metal and some strange energy, covered in Spell runes.
It's said the Church had someone craft it especially for him, and given his contributions to the Church, he deserves it.
Now Andre is already a Bishop—once he gets used to the job, he'll have several options to choose from.
But Andre didn't go into detail with them, just saying he hadn't decided where to go yet.
He was probably waiting for Chadite to come back.
After the two of them left, everyone immediately gathered around Alka, staring at the mirror on his forehead.
Looking at everyone, before they could ask, Alka had the mask appear, covering his own face.
Everyone stared at Alka's face, a mask reflecting the surroundings like a mirror.
"Is this your new treasure? Come on, tell us what awesome stuff it can do,"
Jason asked eagerly.
Alka looked at Jason; his mask didn't have any openings—not even for his nose or mouth. Everything was just mirror.
But that didn't stop Alka from seeing or breathing. To him, it just felt like he had a very thin film on his face—no big deal.
Then suddenly, the mirror on Alka's face stopped reflecting the surroundings, and Jason's face appeared on the surface.
The face in the mirror emerged and merged seamlessly with the mask. In just two or three seconds, Alka's face had become Jason's face.
Seeing Alka morph, Jason got a shock and took a few steps back.
Ignoring Jason, Chadite looked at this scene and asked directly, "You can mimic someone else's face? Can't you copy Jason's build too?"
She instantly caught the real issue.
She saw that only Alka's face had changed, but his clothes and body hadn't at all.
If he could change those too, Alka would've gone for a complete transformation, not just the face.
Alka nodded.
"Is that all?" Julia couldn't help asking curiously from the side.
This treasure can't be just that, can it? That'd be way too lame.
If it was, it'd go on everyone's list of worst treasures, and even rank below that box Jason used to have.
"There's more—it mainly lets you mimic other creatures and gain powers from them."
Alka touched the mirror on his face as he spoke—this was the real main ability of imitation.
