Chapter 3: Ghost Gate
A complete set of body armor emerged in front of him.
Inside, it was empty, but it instantly drew the tachi from its waist to guard the Yin Yang Master. This armor seemed also to be a type of ghost, its tattered appearance suggesting it had endured long years, with some mottled sword scars on the surface. As Su Ziyu gazed at it, he seemed to faintly hear the sounds of battle on the battlefield.
"Are you a human? Or a ghost god?" The Yin Yang Master in front was extremely vigilant, hiding behind the body armor and shouting.
The man appearing before him was extraordinarily powerful.
He had never seen anyone kick a stone with such force. If he hadn't timely cast the Guardian Barrier, he might have been struck down by a stone on the spot.
"You guess!" Su Ziyu chuckled, glancing towards the Ghost General with slightly narrowed eyes.
In ancient Fusang, only Military Generals would wear armor. Seeing the equipment, one could tell this Shikigami might be a ghost of some ancient Military General after death; the Yin Yang Masters in this world have a bit of means.
Su Ziyu's figure flickered by.
The Ghost General in front seemed to stiffen slightly under his gaze. Even the Yin Yang Master had no recourse; before he could react, a glint of cold light flashed by, Su Ziyu's figure passing through the Ghost General, scattering the entire armor in the next moment.
Clang clang clang.
The ground was littered with fragments of armor. Su Ziyu flicked his toe to pick up the tachi, glanced at it, and casually discarded it.
This weapon's quality was lacking—almost ready to be sliced by a Meteor.
—"Body-Binding Curse!"
The Yin Yang Master in front's pupils shrank; he realized he was facing a formidable opponent he had never met before, completing the Dharma Seal at a speed far surpassing the peak. Then, from the soaring Talisman, a chain-like spell composed entirely of Energy shot out, instantly wrapping around Su Ziyu's body.
"Kind of like a Body Stabilization Technique." Su Ziyu stopped in his tracks.
Then, he took a deep breath; his solid muscles gradually swelled, and with a crack, the Talisman chain made entirely of Energy was broken.
This level of magic couldn't even break his Resilient armor.
Not to mention Su Ziyu, maybe any veteran Demon Hunter could easily rely on Brute Force to exempt this level of Body-Binding Spell. By Lady Inid's standard, the Yin Yang Master before him was merely a Tier One to Tier Two Caster, whose only unique method was being able to summon a Shikigami.
But many Warlocks and Necromancers can do this as well, with the latter able to summon quite a few Undead creatures.
"Who exactly are you?" The Yin Yang Master's pupils widened, his voice quite tense.
"Me? Just a passing traveler." Boom, cracks spread across the ground below Su Ziyu's feet as his figure swiftly dashed out, not even drawing his sword, merely tapping the opponent's neck with his palm.
The force was just right.
The Yin Yang Master fainted immediately; Su Ziyu was initially worried about hitting too hard and breaking the opponent's neck.
After all, he had just equipped the Fire Giant Belt today.
"Seems agility enhancement can improve one's control over Power." Su Ziyu squatted down and casually picked up a Yin Yang Fish Jade Pendant.
Nice!
It's even a mystical artifact.
"Mystical Artifact: Yin Yang Jade."
"Tier: Tier One."
"Effect: An artifact made from Yin Jade and Yang Jade, can calm the mind to some extent, has a certain deterrent effect on weaker ghosts."
So this is the Yin Yang Master's Talisman?
Su Ziyu picked up a piece of Talisman Paper, glanced at it, and soon lost interest, dropping it immediately.
He showed no interest in any methods requiring materials for casting since the battles Su Ziyu faced were rather extreme, especially in technological planes, where by the time you took out the Talisman Paper, bullets might have already inundated you.
However, the Yin Yang Master's Guardian Barrier was intriguing, somewhat like Su Ziyu's Spiritual Defense Barrier.
—"Spiritual Vision!"
Su Ziyu rose and stepped into the collapsed Rashomon. In his vision, numerous translucent barriers appeared, along with many Talismans and Seals invisible to the naked eye etched on stones. He proceeded to the center of Rashomon, and his line of sight became slightly blurred, as though the world was divided; the space in front showed some degree of Chaos.
In the fragmented space view.
Su Ziyu again saw an eerie ancient city—Ghost Capital!
"Looks like Rashomon is indeed connecting to the Underworld." Su Ziyu didn't run around, afraid of accidentally disrupting the barriers set up by the Yin Yang Masters.
He seemed to sense something.
As Su Ziyu turned his head to look behind him, he saw an eerie woman dressed in a bright red kimono. This woman's exposed skin was as pale as bone, with her long, sharp fingernails painted dark green. She stood about two hundred meters away at the intersection, wearing bone-made pendants on her head, holding a sword fashioned like a human spine.
As Su Ziyu looked at her, she also saw him.
"Mortal? Or godoid?"
"You carry the scent of the Blue Lantern!" The eerie woman opened her blood-red pupils, extended her slender tongue to lick the corner of her mouth, and slowly drew her Bone Sword.
