Transmigrating as an Extra, But the Heroine Has Regressed?!

Chapter 206: The Feral rank Beast aat Entrance!

"Does this mean I am qualified?"Myra said.

Aldric chuckled. "Qualified? My dear… I mean miss.. , you have not only passed, you have exceeded every expectation."

"With power like yours, you could be more than a teacher. You could lead a guild. Tell me, Miss Myra… who exactly are you?"

"I'm just someone looking for answers. I am a beast in a human form. And I promise… I'll teach your students well."

(wa… what ?), Aldric thought.

"Very well. Welcome to Arcadia Academy, Instructor Myra."

"Thank you sir".

(and your beauty is mesmerizing too).. "Mezmerizing.."...

Guard 1, "mesmerizing?"...

"Hmmm m…I mean she is talented "... Aldric said.

Before that day.

The forest at the southern edge of Blackstone Plaza stretched like a dark ocean of trees, endless with the scent of damp earth.

Afternoon light slanted through the thick threes, but the deeper the rescue team went, the less the sun could reach them.

Kael walked near the center of the group.

His eyes moved constantly, tracing every shifting shadow.

Ahead of him, Elysia led the team looking at the map given by Slyvia, mission map held carefully in her gloved hand.

The bluish glow of a mana lamp clipped to her belt lit the path whenever the overhead canopy grew too thick.

"Stay close," Elysia called back without turning.

Behind Kael, Edwin trailed near the rear.

Selene, Isolde, Jin, and Alina filled the gaps.

The deeper they went, the thicker the mist became.

Thin strands of white curled around tree trunks slipped across the forest floor like pale snakes.

The path narrowed until it was barely wide enough for two people to walk side by side.

"Is this really the way?"Edwin asked.

"Shut up", Elysia replied.

Kael slowed for a moment, scanning the treeline.

Something about the way the mist shifted felt unnatural. His instincts screamed that something was watching them.

"Everything okay?" Alina asked quietly, stepping closer.

Kael gave a small nod. "Yeah… just being careful."

From the front, Elysia suddenly stopped. The group nearly collided with each other.

"What is it?" Edwin asked, frowning.

Elysia raised a hand for silence.

"The map shows a fork ahead. If we take the left trail, we'll cut almost half an hour off our journey." She turned slightly sweeping over the team.

"It looks overgrown, but I believe it's safe."

Kael narrowed his eyes. "Are you sure? Shortcuts in a place like this—"

"It's fine," Elysia interrupted smoothly.

"I double-checked the markings before we left the terminal. Trust me."

The others exchanged hesitant glances. Selene said to herself, "Looks like a beast's playground to me."

But no one openly disagreed. After a brief pause, Professor Sylvia's order echoed in their minds: [Follow the guide. Elysia was the appointed leader.]

"Alright," Edwin said finally. "But if anything happens—"

"Then we deal with it together," Elysia replied. Her eyes flicked briefly toward Kael.

"Stay alert."

The group followed her onto the narrow left trail. Branches scraped against their shoulders.

Damp moss squished underfoot.

They hadn't gone far when a sudden rustling erupted from the underbrush.

"Beasts!" Jin shouted.

Shapes lunged from the shadows, three wolf-like creatures with dark, matted fur and glowing red eyes.

Their claws slashed at the air, and their snarls echoed through the forest.

Edwin reacted first. His sword flashed from its sheath in a single motion.

The first beast leapt toward Alina, but Jin stepped forward, intercepting it with a sharp upward slash.

Sparks flew as steel met claws. The beast yelped and retreated.

"Stay together!" Edwin said in a hurry, drawing his own blade.

Alina raised her staff, a shimmering barrier of mana forming around the group.

Seraphina fired a burst of light magic, striking one of the beasts in the side. It howled in pain and staggered.

Elysia moved gracefully with her Oath Blade cutting through the air with lethal precision.

Her strike severed the leg of a charging beast before it could reach Jin.

Within moments, the creatures lay motionless on the forest floor. Steam rose from their dark blood as it soaked into the moss.

"Everyone alright?" eLYSIA asked, rushing to check for injuries.

"We're fine," Selene replied, though her breathing was heavy.

Kael wiped his blade clean on the grass. His eyes shifted to Elysia, who stood calmly with not a single scratch on her.

"I am hungry," Kael said.

No one listened.

"The map said this path was clear," Jin muttered, glancing warily at the bodies.

"How did the beasts get here?"

Elysia's eyes widened in a convincing show of surprise.

"I… I don't understand. This shouldn't have been dangerous. I swear the academy reports marked it as safe."

Selene folded her arms. "Maybe the beasts migrated."

"Or maybe someone made a mistake," Edwin said, his gaze flicking between Elysia and Kael.

"Did anyone notice anything strange earlier?"

"We are going on a rescue mission, of course there will be a beast because it is what they attacked", said Isolde.

Kael frowned but said nothing. He had been alert the entire time, but there was no sign before the attack.

Still, something about the timing felt too perfect, as if the beasts had been waiting.

Elysia lowered her blade and offered a gentle smile that almost looked apologetic.

"Either way, we handled it. Let's keep moving before more arrive."

The group reluctantly agreed. They stepped over the fallen beasts and continued along the narrow trail.

Before they could leave the scene of the battle, Alina suddenly stopped and turned back toward the lifeless body of the beast lying a few meters away.

"Hey," she called out, "aren't you guys forgetting something?"

Everyone paused, turning to look at her.

Elysia tilted her head slightly. "What is it?"

Alina pointed at the creature's massive body, its dark fur still glistening with dew and blood in the faint light.

"The core. We should take the beast core and submit it to Professor Sylvia. At least there'll be proof that we fought this thing. Maybe we'll even get marks for it."

Jin blinked, realizing the obvious.

"Oh! Right. That makes sense." He gave a sheepish laugh and shrugged.

"Good thinking, Alina. No point risking our lives and coming back empty-handed."

Kael, who had been standing at the edge of the group, kept silent and watched carefully.

Elysia stepped closer to the beast's massive chest, her oath blade still dripping with faint streaks of dark blood.

"Alright," she said with a nod.
