Chapter 357: Camille's superpower

"Can this fire really burn things even though it isn't hot?" Nathan asked.

"Yes. I already tried it a while ago because I was also shocked that it was different from the fires that you guys are using," Camille said while looking at the fire on his palm.

"Then try burning this tissue," Vivian said while handing a few sheets of tissue to Camille.

"Ok," Camille said as he accepted the tissues.

He held the tissues in one hand and used the other hand to control the flame he had, putting it near the tissues.

And as he said, the tissues indeed began burning just as intended.

While the fire was spreading through the whole sheets of tissues, Nathan touched it and said in amazement, "Even though the fire is spreading and burning the tissue, it's still not hot."

The others were also curious, so they touched the flames of Camille, and they were all amazed that the fire really wasn't hot at all.

"Amazing. Why do you think this fire could still burn things even though it isn't hot?" Luciel asked after also touching the fire that Camille had.

He hadn't seen a fire that wasn't hot but could still burn things, which was why he also touched the fire that Camille had conjured.

"I also don't know. That's why I just think of it as a strange fire," Camille answered.

"It's strange indeed, but I think it's cooler than the fire that I'm using because it's unique," Nathan said with some envy.

"It's indeed unique, but I think its function actually deteriorated. It doesn't feel hot at all, so I can't even use it to warm myself when it's cold, like the weather now. If it doesn't burn anything, I think it would have been useless. Thankfully, it's still a flame and can really burn things, even though it could only burn small things for the time being," Camille said and then sighed.

"If you say it that way, it does seem to have lost some of its function as a fire power, but since it's strange, it should also have some advantage compared to regular fires," Nathan said.

As Camille mentioned, losing the heat of the power he had was indeed a disadvantage because one of the features of fire is being hot.

If it isn't hot anymore, then it means he really couldn't use it for warmth, which is a very big advantage for fire users.

He couldn't even use it to boil water since it couldn't heat the water at all, so it couldn't be used for non-combat purposes, unlike the regular fires of the others who had fire abilities.

But as Nathan said, it was unique, so it should also have its own advantages, but those had to be discovered first.

"Yeah, but I haven't discovered anything yet, so I'll work on it in the following days," Camille said.

"I think one of its advantages was already obviously seen and tried by us," Luciel said.

"Huh? Really? What is it?" Camille said with some excitement.

"You should think about it yourself first," Luciel said, not planning to share what he thought with Camille since he had already given a big hint.

The people who had those abilities should think more about their abilities so they could discover more about what they could do on their own, as it would be part of their strength.

"It's already been tried and seen. Is the advantage being that it's cold enough? But I don't think that would be enough of an advantage," Camille said, then paused and looked at Nathan, Liam, Conner, Ted, and Raffy. Then he asked, "As people with fire superpowers, what do you guys think?"

The others with fire superpowers also started thinking about it but hadn't thought of an answer, so Camille looked at Luciel.

"Can you please tell me about it just this once? I will certainly study more about my abilities later, but I'm really curious about the advantage that you are talking about, and it might take me a bit more time to think it through. Just treat it as a congratulatory gift for me for surviving and gaining an ability," Camille said while looking at Luciel with pleading eyes.

"Okay, I'll treat it as a congratulatory gift, as you indeed haven't received any gift yet. It has been very obvious, I'm sure some actually realized it already, right?" Luciel said while looking at Treyton, Yang, and the other people who were in charge of the team.

"With your hint, it's really easy to guess it," Treyton answered with a smile.

"Don't act humble. I know that you'd be able to guess it even without me saying anything," Luciel said.

"Wow, you guys are really good," Camille said in admiration before adding, "So, what's the advantage that you are talking about?"

"It's a very obvious advantage. When you showed your ability and let the others touch it, no one had been burned. But when you let it touch the paper, it burned easily.

So it's an obvious advantage compared to the abilities of Nathan and the others.

The fire that Nathan and the others could conjure couldn't be touched by others because it's hot and could burn them.

It took a long time for them to be able to control the fire so it wouldn't burn the things they didn't want it to, and even now they could only control it partially.

But for you, it seems that your ability even responds to your subconscious thoughts.

That's why you didn't burn the skin of the people who touched the fire you conjured, but you easily burned the paper that you wanted to burn as an example.

So, your fire ability is probably easier to control than the fire ability of Nathan and the others," Luciel pointed out.

"Indeed, his ability can burn things even though it's cold, so it should have burned my hands as soon as I touched it. Wow, what an amazing advantage! I had always been training to control my ability, but it's still hard not to burn the things around me," Nathan said in amazement.
