Chapter 33: Talk with the others
"Hmm, I still haven't seen you with a black eye. Why don't you let me hit you for once?" Luciel said, looking at Treyton with a smile.
"Of course not. Don't even think about it. I know you won't even let me kiss you if I had a black eye," Treyton immediately denied.
"Oh, you know me quite well," Luciel replied nonchalantly.
"You won't even try to deny it?" Treyton asked unhappily.
"Why should I deny it? It's the truth."
"That means you're only with me because of my face?" Treyton asked, still sounding unhappy.
"You're thinking about it the wrong way. You should be happy that your good looks were the reason I agreed to be your lover. If you aren't handsome, I wouldn't even agree," Luciel corrected.
"Well, that seems to be true, but I'm not satisfied with your answer," Treyton said. Then he lightly nibbled on Luciel's neck to express his dissatisfaction.
Luciel just tilted his head slightly and just let Treyton nibble his neck while saying, "That's just how it is. You can't really change my mind no matter how dissatisfied you are."
"I know," Treyton said and nibbled on his neck harder.
Treyton didn't leave his room and just accompanied him to watch another movie while controlling a small metal ball in his hand trying to change its form into another.
Luciel could see that his control of his metal ability was already great. Hopefully his control over his lightning power was also in the same. The problem of having a dual power was the need for balance between the two abilities. If they don't have a balance, it would eventually cause a problem.
Both of them stayed in his room until Nina called them for lunch.
When they went down, they all ate their lunch in silence. It seemed that everyone's mood was still affected by what happened in the morning.
After having their lunch, Treyton led another meeting with everyone to talk about their fight that morning and their travel starting tomorrow.
"Let's talk about what we did this morning. What can you guys say about it?" Treyton asked.
"The zombies had slower movements, so they were easier to deal with. We just need to be careful not to be surrounded by them. Our power was also insufficient; we can only use it for a bit before running out of energy. So, we can only use it sparingly," Zam said.
"Yes, our powers are really insufficient. I tried making a big fireball to burn some zombies, but I didn't manage to make it as big as I imagined it to be. I also ran out of energy after trying it five times. But the zombies are not that fast; that's why I managed to deal with a few of them even though I don't have great aim.
I think I can fight in close combat using a bat or a metal rod because they have a longer range than a dagger," Nathan also said.
"Ok, we can find a bat or metal rod tomorrow, or if we can't find them, I can also make them as long as there is enough metal. Now, let's plan our general route going back north. Those who still have concerns, as long as it is on the way north, we can detour a little bit to stop over. So, tell me now if you have somewhere you want to stop by," Treyton said while looking at everyone.
"My family's villa is just near yours, so I'm sure your family would take care of it if they're still there," Nathan said, trying to act as if he wasn't worried about his family at all.
"I'm already here with Ashlee, so I don't need to stop by anywhere," Yang said.
"I don't have anywhere to stop by," Zam said.
Almost all of Treyton's bodyguards said that they didn't have anywhere to stop by, just like Zam, except for Nate, Conner, and Myla.
"My sister said that they were having their research presentation here in the capital; I want to stop by at the hotel they were staying at," Myla said.
"I want to stop by my friends' sports gym near here to check if they are still there," Conner said.
"My brother's family is near X city; I need to see if they are still there," Nate said.
"Okay, we can stop by those places you guys mentioned," Treyton answered. Then he turned to Luciel and asked, "What about you, Ciel? Do you have to stop by anywhere?"
"Of course."
"Where do you want to stop by?" Treyton asked.
"Of course, we have to stop by a computer shop, a tech hub, or any place that has stocks of downloaded movies, games, and books," Luciel said.
He had already downloaded a lot, but he felt that it was still not enough. He also needed to get power banks and other things to be sure that he could still continuously use his phone and tablet. They needed to get some of those saved files and others before some people or zombies destroyed them. So, the sooner they went to such a place, the better.
As soon as he finished saying where he wanted to stop by, the somber atmosphere because of the mentions of families was broken. Treyton chuckled and said, "Okay, we are surely going to stop by those places."
"That's good."
"Now, let's plan the route we are going to take," Treyton said to everyone.
They continued talking about which road they were going to take while considering the materials they needed to gather and the places they needed to stop by.
Luciel didn't pay attention to what they were talking about anymore because he wasn't familiar with the places they were mentioning. He would be seeing them eventually, so he just sat there and played some games.
In the novel, Treyton met someone troublesome when they went out. He wasn't sure if they would meet this time because they were leaving later compared to what was written in the novel. He had already been annoyed when he was just reading the novel, so hopefully, they wouldn't meet.
