Chapter 320: After the attack of the birds 5
With Luciel's personality, Treyton knew he probably didn't mind being known to the base. However, he would surely mind if he was disturbed because of them.
Luciel didn't care much about what was happening around him, as long as it wasn't too big of a matter or didn't concern him directly.
That's why, even though Treyton had already given enough authority to Luciel, having ordered that if he wasn't around, the others could follow Luciel's orders but Luciel didn't really use that authority. He only used it when he gathered everyone to plan something fun, like the pool party.
Aside from that, Luciel didn't bother others at all. He really didn't seem to have any interest in taking charge of the team's affairs, even though he was clearly very capable.
Well, there isn't much to handle in their team for the time being as the numbers of the members isn't that large yet but Luciel's disinterest in such things was still obvious as he didn't bother taking a look at what the other members were doing.
For example, Luciel probably only knew that the others were training but he didn't know what they were doing in their training.
Treyton had instructed the others to follow Luciel's words when he wasn't around because it was obvious to him that Luciel was actually very capable.
But Luciel just wanted to live leisurely and didn't care about the team's affairs at all.
Well, Treyton already knew how lazy Luciel was, so he only gave him that authority in case something happened to him.
He knew Yang, Zam, and Wes were also capable of handling things if he ever wasn't with the team but for big events, he still thought that following Luciel's words would probably be better for them.
But if such an emergency really did happen, Treyton knew that when he returned, he would probably receive Luciel's cold stares if Luciel had been forced to work hard because of him.
His thoughts didn't wander for long because his uncle spoke to him.
"What about the mission that you guys accepted? Are you still going to do it?" Uncle Jeremy asked.
"Yes. No one in our team was heavily injured, so we will still do our mission, but we'll go five days later, as everyone still needs to rest."
Treyton stayed in his grandfather's office, listening to more details about what had happened to the base and what the base planned to do afterward.
After staying there for a while and hearing enough, Treyton finally stepped out of the office.
He headed toward the entrance and began paying attention to what people around him were talking about.
Many people were still staying in the military area because their living arrangements hadn't been settled yet. They also felt more at ease remaining in the military zone, which was still covered in vines.
Treyton could hear that many were still curious about the vines covering the entire military area, and they were sharing news from whatever sources they had.
Those who had spent more time outside and seen more were also sharing their experiences, like the people with superpowers they had encountered.
A lot of people had run into Luciel and were accidentally saved by him. From their tone, it was clear how grateful they were. Many even expressed a strong desire to find out who the person was that had helped them.
Of course, Treyton and the rest of the team were also very strong, and they had roamed around the base afterward, so people in the military area were also talking about them.
But Treyton was more interested in the stories about Luciel, since he hadn't been with him for most of the day yesterday.
He wanted to hear more about what Luciel had done, even though some stories were clearly exaggerated, so he didn't walk fast, instead slowing his pace.
Treyton was focused on listening to what others were saying, but he was suddenly interrupted when someone appeared in front of him and blocked his path.
When Treyton looked carefully, he saw that it was actually Ron. He still remembered who Ron was, having seen him just a few days ago causing a fuss with the people who had recently joined their team.
"What is it?" Treyton asked coldly.
He really didn't like it when his ex-lovers continued pestering him after their contract ended, especially since he had already given them enough compensation as agreed upon.
Once the contract ended, it also meant the relationship was over. They had known this when they agreed to the terms, so he couldn't stand it when they still tried to cling to him afterward.
He hadn't personally dealt with these matters in a long time, since anyone trying to approach him was usually blocked by Yang or his bodyguards.
So, his tone was anything but polite when he saw Ron blocking his way.
He hadn't seen Ron since their contract ended, and it was obvious Ron knew how he operated. A few days ago, when they overheard Ron arguing with someone, it was clear Ron knew full well that Treyton didn't tolerate being pestered.
Treyton had also rejected Ron's application to join their team at that time. It was very obvious that Ron only wanted to join because of the benefits the team offered and because of other things.
Joining a team for its benefits wasn't necessarily a bad thing as it showed that they joined the team after knowing what they would be getting, but in Ron's case, it was clear he just wanted to be close to Treyton again, to rekindle their past relationship.
But his relationship with Luciel was still very good and he doesn't have any plans to end his relationship with him for the time being because he also thinks that they were compatible with each other.
Luciel also wasn't a troublesome person, so why would he even consider looking for someone else when he already had someone better?
Besides, even when he wasn't with Luciel and was with his previous lovers, he never entertained relationships with anyone outside of his current contract.
