Chapter 22: Training Ashlee
It seemed that Ashlee also hadn't eaten the same meals at least four times. Sandwich for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and another breakfast. He really can't blame Ashlee for asking because they ate sandwiches repeatedly.
"Ashlee, just think of it as training. In the future, we might continue eating the same thing for our meals, and we might not even eat properly," Luciel said seriously.
They will surely be traveling a lot in the future, so they might not even have a proper time to eat their meals if the others get busy fighting.
"I see." Ashlee nodded and started eating the sandwiches.
After eating breakfast, the two had nothing else to do, so they started watching movies again. However, afterwards, Ashee got bored of watching and started walking around the rooftop.
When she saw the zombie Rick tied up without being even able to squirm, she stopped and asked.
"Brother, did this uncle become a zombie?" Ashlee asked while pointing at zombie Rick.
"Yes, he became a zombie last night, so don't go near him," Luciel said, and then continued watching the movie he was watching.
He saw that Ashlee just stared at the zombie Rick, then afterwards she ran towards him and asked, "Brother, how can I become powerful?"
"Why do you want to become powerful?" Luciel asked as he looked at Ashlee.
"Brother said that those zombies would eat me. I won't be eaten if I'm powerful!" Ashlee said.
The perception of children really can't be underestimated. Ashlee realized that she would be in danger and knew that, by being powerful, she could survive.
He didn't dismiss Ashlee's desire to be powerful and seriously said, "If you want to become powerful, then you need to train first."
"How powerful will I become after training?"
"After training, you will be able to do this," Luciel said, throwing the dagger he had at the flowerpot on the other side of the rooftop. After throwing the first dagger, he threw the next one, which landed beside the dagger he threw.
He got all the weapons from the bodyguards when he tied them up yesterday, so he had a lot of daggers beside him together with their guns.
"Wow, I also want to do it!" Ashlee said with sparkling eyes.
"Okay, you try it yourself; the target is the flowerpot where the other two daggers are," Luciel said while handing the dagger to Ashlee.
The world had already become dangerous, so Ashlee's interest in becoming powerful was a good thing. Even though she is young, she still needed to learn how to survive by herself, or at least she would be able to run when she was in any danger.
Ashlee held the danger and threw it, but it didn't even reach half of the distance. But it was actually good enough that, at least, she could still throw it. It seemed that the physical attributes of ordinary people were really a bit stronger, as Ashlee could still hold and throw the dagger.
"Oh, it didn't reach," Ashlee said sadly.
"That's why you need to train to become powerful," Luciel said with a smile.
Of course, he actually didn't train because there was no time to train; they were directly involved in combat, which was where he enhanced and learned his skills. He didn't have any prior training, except for a bit of training he got when he needed to act in an action movie. Aside from that, he learned everything he knew while risking his life to survive.
However, Ashlee was still young, and her father and other people were still around to protect her, so she still had time to train herself before facing danger directly.
"Brother, train me! I want to become strong!"
"Okay, I will train you first; when your father wakes up, ask him to let others teach you."
"Okay," Ashlee agreed.
"Ok, then, you will start running, starting from there to there, 20 times," Luciel said while pointing from one end of the rooftop to the other. There was still a lot of space, so Ashlee could start training.
She needed to have enough stamina to run when she's endangered, so running would be her first training.
Ashlee started running while he continued watching the movie he had paused a while ago, but he was still paying attention to Ashee.
He was surprised that even though he could see that Ashlee was already tired, she still persevered and continued running until she finished running back and forth 20 times.
"Good job, Ashlee! You can rest first."
"Is that all my training?" Ashlee asked after drinking water.
"Of course not; you need to run again this afternoon; after you rest, you will practice how to hit the flowerpot there," Luciel said while pointing at the flowerpot that still has two daggers in it.
He knew that daggers were still too heavy for Ashlee, so he went to get some surgical knives from the medical kit in Treyton's room.
Throwing daggers and surgical knives would, of course, have a bit of a difference, but it can be addressed later on once Ashlee can properly hold a dagger. He just wanted to let Ashlee practice her accuracy.
If she trained hard even if she held a different weapon in the future, she would only need to adjust a bit before he could use it as her own as long as her accuracy is present.
"You can aim at the flowerpot as long as you want; if you are tired, you can rest first," Luciel said, handing the knives to Ashlee.
"Be sure to hold them properly so that you won't be injured," he warned.
It seemed that Ashlee really liked aiming at the flowerpot with the knives because every time she got tired, she would only rest a little and continue aiming at the flowerpot.
They just stayed on the rooftop again, and even though it was already afternoon, no one had woken up yet.
Fortunately, Nina woke up near the evening; if not, they would be eating sandwiches again.
