Chapter 20: Getting along with Ashlee

"Ashlee, I brought some sandwiches; let's eat them first," Luciel said as soon as he arrived at the rooftop.

"Brother, the uncle there woke up and started moving oddly; is he sick?" Ashlee said while pointing at the road near their villa.

Hearing what Ashlee said, he walked near the railings where Ashlee was standing. He could indeed see a person wearing the community uniform walking very slowly and directionless. He could see black veins visible in his exposed skin, which meant he had already become a zombie.

In the novel, it was written that all zombies had their veins turn black, and they became very visible. The zombie below was still walking slowly because it didn't sense anything yet.

Fortunately, the villa they were in still has a distance to the road, and they also have tall and sturdy fences around the villa. So, both of them could still relax inside without doing anything because it seemed that the zombie on the road couldn't sense them.

As long as they aren't too noisy, the zombies shouldn't be able to sense anything. He didn't want to fight, so it was better not to do anything.

"That uncle became a monster because he received a bad gift. You can see the black lines on him, right?"

It seemed that even ordinary people also have their senses a little bit enhanced, as Ashlee could also see something even though they weren't nearby.

"Yes, there are black lines in his face and hands."

"Those black lines are signs that they received a bad gift and turned into a monster. So, if anyone here woke up but has blacklines all over them, don't go near them because they will eat you," Luciel said while pointing at the others who were tied to the railings.

"They will eat me?"

"Yes, do you know zombies?" Luciel asked because he knew a lot of cartoons had zombie characters.

"Yes, I know, zombies eat people."

"Just like the one you watched, all the people who had blacklines became zombies, and they will eat you. And if you are injured by a zombie, you will also become a zombie. So, don't go near any of them," Luciel said seriously.

Ashlee would be seeing a lot of zombies from now on, so she should know that they were a source of danger.

"Will daddy also become a zombie?" Ashlee asked sadly.

"I don't know, but if your dad is strong, he will surely receive a good gift and will not become a zombie," Luciel said comfortingly.

Even though it was written in the novel that Yang didn't become a zombie, he still couldn't say it to Ashlee.

"I know, my dad is strong; he will not become a zombie!" Ashlee said happily.

"Ok, then, let's just watch something fun while waiting for them to wake up," Luciel said while ruffling Ashlee's hair.

Luciel and Ashlee ate their sandwiches while watching different movies. Ashlee was watching some cartoons that he had downloaded while he was watching an adventure movie.

When he checked if there was an internet connection, there was really none. Even the phone signals weren't there, so he couldn't send or receive messages anymore.

Thankfully, the electricity was still present. If it were gone, then it would have been harder to do a lot of things.

Downloading a lot of things was really useful; he even paid others to let them send him their movie and book files so that they would be easier to download. A lot of people sent their files to him, so he downloaded a lot of things that were in different genres. Which was why he also had a lot of cartoons and other movies for kids.

After watching one movie and seeing no one awake yet, Luciel was forced to start cleaning up the rooftop, as it was still full of drinks and barbecue that they hadn't finished eating.

He really doesn't want to clean; that's why he ate breakfast and watched one movie first, hoping that someone would wake up. If someone wakes up, then he doesn't need to do any chores.

He started cleaning up all the things they left together with Ashlee, who also volunteered to help. If only Ashlee was already big, he could have left the cleaning to her; unfortunately, she was still a kid, so he had to do most of the cleaning.

After cleaning, both of them just stayed on the rooftop to look out for the others who were still tied up on the railings. Fortunately, the weather normalized, and it wasn't very hot like yesterday, so they stayed on the rooftop comfortably.

While waiting for someone to wake up, they watched movies, played games, and even took a nap in the evening, but no one woke up.

Seeing that the sun was already setting and nobody had woken up, he went downstairs to get the thick curtains in the utility room.

Zombies are sensitive to light, so they would surely go to their villa as soon as they opened the lights at night. He didn't want to fight zombies, as it would be too tiring, so it was still better to just get thick curtains to cover the rooftop.

He really hoped for at least one person to wake up soon so that he wouldn't be the one moving around.

"Wow, brother, you are very cool!" Ashlee said after seeing him easily climbing and jumping around the movable rooftop and hanging the curtains around.

After awakening his superpower, he could feel that his strength had been strengthened. His strength should also grow with the growth of his ability.

Jumping and climbing around the movable rooftop was just an easy thing to do. In his last life, he even needed to fight while being maneuvered into higher heights, so he was very accustomed to it already.

After checking that he had tied the curtains properly, he jumped down.

"Brother, I also want to be as cool as you!" Ashlee said with shining eyes.

"Don't worry, you can also do it after growing up," Luciel said while ruffling Ashlee's hair.
