Transmigrated As An Extra In The Apocalypse

Chapter 21: Chapter 20: Ori (2)

Hours had passed, and my body ached from the repetitive drills I had been putting Ori through.

I sat cross-legged on the floor, wiping a bead of sweat from my brow as I watched the little wolf stare at me, his blue eyes filled with a mixture of confusion and annoyance.

Mainly annoyance.

"All right, Ori," I said, stretching my arms and groaning. "Time to see if any of this stuck."

The wolf huffed, a sound so human-like it made me chuckle.

Standing up, I pointed at him with mock authority.

"Move to the left!" I said.

Ori blinked at me, clearly unimpressed, before begrudgingly shuffling a step to the left.

"Now the right," I instructed, trying to sound firm.

He hesitated for a moment before stepping right, his fluffy tail twitching in irritation.

"Good boy!" I grinned, clapping my hands. Ori didn't seem as thrilled as I was.

"Now sit." i said

Ori reluctantly sat.

"Now stand." I said standing up.

Ori tilted his head, looking at me like I have completely lost it, but he eventually stood.

Well, as much as a wolf impossibly could.

As much as I hate to admit it, this wolf looks smarter than I am.

He learned everything so fast, just in a few hours.

"That's it!" I cheered, only for him to collapse onto the floor in protest.

I sighed, sitting back on the edge of the bed.

"Yeah, I get it, buddy. We'll call it a day."

Ori didn't move for a moment, then leapt up onto the bed, curling into a ball near the pillow.

He had clearly claimed his spot, and I didn't have the heart to move him.

Leaning back, I stared at the ceiling, my mind wandering.

What now? The day had been long, but the real question was what tomorrow would bring.

With a sigh, I pushed myself off the bed and headed for the fridge.

Opening it, I found a protein bar and a carton of milk.

The milk wasn't fresh, but it would do.

I grabbed a wide cup, poured the milk into it, and set it on the floor.

"Here," I said, gesturing for Ori. "Milk's supposed to be good for you... I think."

I'm a total newbie in training pets, I didn't have one so it is not my fault, not that I don't like them I do, but I didn't have time to train one.

Work has always been my priority, I didn't have time for other things.

Except for reading novels of course, I had to make special time for that.

Suddenly a sad realisation hit me...

My subscription for future chapters might have been confirmed already.

And I can't read it.

So sad.

Ori perked up, hopping off the bed with surprising grace.

He padded over, sniffed the cup, and began lapping at the milk with gusto.

Watching him, I realized he wasn't as fragile as a newborn.

It didn't even look like one.

His build was lean, his fur thick and healthy.

He looked closer to a three-five months old wolf.

As Ori enjoyed his milk, I peeled open the protein bar, taking a bite.

The dry, slightly sweet taste wasn't great, but it was better than nothing.

I glanced at Ori, who had finished the milk and was now staring at me intently.

"You want some, don't you?" I said, holding up the bar.

His ears perked, and his tail wagged slightly.

I waved the bar in front of him teasingly. "You think you can just have some of this? You gotta earn it!"

Ori's eyes narrowed, and before I could react, he jumped back onto the bed, sitting upright like a disciplined soldier.

"You're not messing around, huh?" I laughed, breaking off a small piece of the bar and hiding it in my hand.

I pretended to hand it over, only to pull my hand back at the last second.

Ori glared at me, his head tilting in confusion as I repeated the motion a few more times.

"Patience is a virtue," I teased, savoring another bite myself.

In the end, Ori gave up, flopping onto the bed with an exaggerated sigh.

Feeling a bit guilty, I tossed him the small piece I'd been holding.

His ears shot up, and he snapped it out of the air with surprising speed.

"Happy now?" I asked, watching as he joyfully chewed.

Satisfied, I stretched out on the bed, Ori curling up beside me.

The room was quiet, As my thoughts drifted again to the days ahead.

How can I survive here?

Ori shifted closer, his warm fur brushing against my arm.

I reached out and scratched behind his ears, earning a soft huff of approval.

"Guess we'll figure it out together, huh?" I murmured.
