Transmigrated As An Extra In The Apocalypse

Chapter 11: Chapter 10: Battleground [4]

The battlefield was a storm of chaos.

The four awakened dashed forward with the speed of light, their cyber suits blazing with energy.

Amber's movements were graceful yet deadly, As she sliced through the infected with a shimmering blade of light.

Beside her, the awakened with the wolf-like suit tore into their enemies, his claws flashing in the dim light as infected soldiers were reduced to shreds.

The scorpion-suited awakened was no less terrifying, his tail striking with precision, cutting infected monsters to pieces.

And then there was Edward a force of nature.

His gorilla-like suit crushed anything in its path, massive fists slamming into the infected with bone-crushing force.

The ground trembled beneath his every step, each swing of his arm sending shockwaves through the battlefield.

They was slowly approaching toward the infected beast, while cutting a path through the horde of infected.

Behind them, only seven soldiers remained alive.

Two were part of the military support team, frantically distributing supplies and ammo, while the remaining four myself included struggled to stay alive amidst the carnage.

"Sky, get over here, now!" Sergeant Thomas's voice cut through the din of battle, and I turned to see him standing near the military support team.

In his hands, he held a faintly glowing orb the size of an apple, pulsing with crackling energy.

An ability core.

The support team was distributing them, the cores offering soldiers, it grants their weapons abilities.

I hurried over, As I approached, Thomas spotted me and scowled.

"You are late?!" he barked, tossing the core in his hand at me.

I fumbled, barely catching it before it hit the ground.

"You're not supposed to get one of these," Thomas growled. "But I don't have time to watch someone useless die hopelessly." He jabbed a finger at the core in my hand.

"That's a lightning core. Now listen up. You attach it to your gun like this..." He demonstrated with his own weapon, sliding the core into a chamber near the barrel.

"It'll enhance your shots with lightning energy."

I followed his instructions, sliding the core into my weapon. Immediately, the gun began to spark, arcs of electricity dancing along its surface. The crackling energy made my hair stand on end, and the weapon hummed in my grip.

But to me the core looks like a weak one.

"Don't get cocky," Thomas snapped, his tone dripping with disdain. "The only reason you're getting a core is because you will still die, weak people like you always dies first, and when you die I'll take it back off your corpse."

He turned, shouting orders to the other soldiers, leaving me standing there with my fists clenched.

Too weak. Useless.

His words stung, but I swallowed the anger rising in my chest. There was no point in getting angry I wasn't really the sky he knows.

Instead, I looked down at the sparking gun in my hands, feeling a strange mix of excitement and pity.

I felt pity for the real Sky, the person whose body I transmigrated in.

No wonder he was so insignificant in the novel.

He was always treated like trash, always trying to prove himself but fails.

My grip on my gun tightened.

I wasn't about to die here. Not today.

And if Thomas wants to take this core back from my dead body, I would be glad to do the same to him.

"Sky!" one of the soldiers called, snapping me out of my thoughts.

The infected beast was still approaching, its massive form looming over the battlefield like a nightmare.

The awakened were nearing it, their attacks relentless as they pushed through the horde of lesser infected.

I stepped forward cautiously, raising my weapon and aiming at an infected soldier stumbling toward me.

With a sharp crack, lightning arced from the barrel, striking the infected square in the chest.

It barely had time to groan before it disintegrated into ash, the remnants scattering in the wind.

The weapons is soo strong.

I glanced around. The remaining soldiers, armed with weapons powered by various ability cores, were doing the same each strike precise, each infected reduced to nothing.

We had learned that the only way to stop them was total annihilation.

Burn or cut them to dust before they could adapt.

As the massive infected beast walked. It roared, shaking the ground with its rage.

The four awakened Amber, Edward, and the others had already closed in, their movements a blur of speed and precision.

Amber moved like a streak of light, so fast the infected beast couldn't keep track of her.

She struck its massive frame with deadly accuracy, her glowing weapon cutting deep into its thick hide. The other two awakened flanked it, each delivering powerful blows that left the beast injured in multiple places.

Edward, the living juggernaut, was relentless, hammering at its legs, trying to bring the creature to its knees.

That is their strategy.

The beast lashed out with its massive arms, claws slicing through the air with terrifying speed.

Amber dodged with ease, her movements fluid and graceful, but the others weren't as quick.

One of the awakened took a glancing blow, sent flying across the battlefield. He hit the ground hard, groaning, but quickly scrambled back to his feet.

Edward bellowed a command, his voice booming over the chaos. "Keep it distracted! Don't let it focus on any one of us!"

They adjusted their strategy, attacking in quick, coordinated bursts.

Amber darted in and out, delivering precise cuts that left the beast howling in pain.

The others aimed for its legs, trying to cripple its mobility.

Edward focused all his energy on forcing the massive creature down, his strikes thunderous and unrelenting.

But it wasn't enough.

Even injured, the infected beast was relentless. It roared again, swiping at the awakened with higher fury.

Edward, in particular, seemed to have drawn its ire. As he delivered another powerful blow to its knee, the beast suddenly shifted, its massive hand stretching downward with frightening speed, aiming to crush him.

"Edward, move!" Amber shouted, her voice tinged with panic.

Edward realized the danger a second too late.

He tried to retreat, his massive suit shifting awkwardly as he attempted to evade the beast's attack.

Time seemed to slow as I watched the massive claw descend toward him.

Without thinking, I raised my weapon, the lightning core humming with barely contained energy.

I squeezed the trigger.

A bolt of lightning shot from my gun, striking the beast directly in one of its massive eyes. The creature roared, jerking back in pain as the energy surged through its body.

I fired again, the second bolt hitting its other eye. Sparks flew, and the beast thrashed wildly, blinded and disoriented.

Edward took the opportunity, diving out of the way just as the claw slammed into the ground where he had stood moments before.

Seizing the opportunity, the other awakened dashed forward.

While the beast flailed, Amber and her team struck in unison.

Amber's blade glowed white-hot as she dashed across the beast's massive torso, slicing through its thick hide with precision.

Edward roared, bringing both fists down on its knee, finally forcing it to collapse.

The others delivered blow after blow, their cyber suits flashing as they poured the last of their energy into the attack.

The infected beast let out one final, deafening roar before its massive body collapsed, shaking the ground.

Silence.

I stood frozen, my gun still crackling with lighting.

The soldiers around me stared in stunned disbelief. Slowly, I lowered my weapon.

Amber was the first to speak, her voice steady despite her exhaustion.

"It's dead."
