Chapter 8: Chapter 8 : Damascus Dome part 2
I stood there staring up
Fire and lightning broke out above the clouds, lighting up the sky with a dark fury. Tears of blood began to fall, soaking the earth and reaching every being. Screams of terror echoed through the vastness, as the world trembled. Millions of people crawled, humiliated, futilely searching for prayers in the Vatican; their saints and gods as if prayers could save them from what was coming.
"CRASH!" The sound echoed, followed by the whisper of a soft, disturbing laugh, which seemed to slip between the voices of an old man, a child, and then a woman, as if they all merged into a single echo. The empty sky shattered like a broken mirror, and a terrifying black hole began to open, advancing unstoppably wanting to devour the world.
A gigantic portal opened, as immense as I had never seen before, but I did not look away; I wanted to know "what am I going to face?" Answering that question. The previously black hole turned red as red as blood on a moonless night, it shook and then, "blinked...?" Ah
Then I realized.
Amazed, fearful and restless, the emotions I thought I had forgotten took hold of me, one after another, with incredible intensity. My breathing accelerated, and fear began to consume me.
A gigantic black line, elongated and vertical, began to expand in the middle of an intense red. Slowly, the pupil dilated, until finally a huge reptilian eye was revealed. A shudder ran through my entire body; the blood seemed to boil in my veins, and for an instant I was on the verge of losing consciousness. However, I remained firm, without taking my eyes off that disconcerting vision.
Very slowly, I could see how the crack in the sky became more and more pronounced, and I felt in my body the presence of the imminent end. Two enormous shadows emerged from the absolute void, tearing the firmament and widening the already shattered celestial vault. A blackened figure, with red eyes and an amorphous body, began to manifest itself over the abyss, bringing with it seeds of destruction and chaos.
The shadows of their bodies, so dense and wrapped in absolute darkness that they seemed to have no end, were weaving the silhouette of a beast, a deformed torso that rose towards the sky, leaving behind shadows that dissolved upon contact with the light. From the center, long, muscular arms began to emerge, extending forward, their fingers at first shapeless, but soon forming into claws, elongated and deep black, as if they were carved from obsidian. From its back grew terrifying bat-like wings and an elongated tail that seemed to engulf the surrounding clouds
The head appeared in a burst of force, emerging from nowhere like an explosion of contaminated energy. Its face quickly took shape: deep red eyes like burning wells, shining brightly while strong, curved horns rose towards the sky. The jaw elongated, its fangs sharpening to look like daggers. A warm, sulfurous breath escaped from its nostrils, while the creature's roar transformed into a terrifying howl that traveled across the ground
Finally, the being was complete: an immense dragon, its silhouette outlined against the horizon, with black and violet scales that seemed to absorb everything, wings that whispered in the wind, and a presence so overwhelming that it seemed as if the air itself had shrunk around it. His body emanated such chaotic and violent energy that, befitting his name, he would bring destruction.
In front of me is the beast of the apocalypse "Tehom"
I could no longer control myself, and I wasn't he the only one. The entire world seemed to be crumbling, as if everything around me was collapsing. The illusion that had kept everything in place was falling apart, and his presence, although only a small part, was too much to bear.

With three seconds left, the enormous dragon turned its gaze towards me. A chill ran through my body and I felt my soul slip away. I stood completely paralyzed, like a prey facing its predator, unable to move, only able to watch as everything ended.
–"מי אתה" (¿who are you?)
Perhaps it was because of the system or the tower, but before I could fully comprehend it, everything around me went black. Like a mirage, the cities, the people, and the enormous beast disappeared. A momentary dizziness enveloped me, and when my vision returned, I found myself outside the dome.
Everyone looked at me in astonishment, their eyes full of bewilderment, and I didn't understand what was happening.

(Moments before)
In a room exclusive to the titular teachers, two women were arguing. However, all the remaining teachers were focused on a single monitor.
—Veronica, how will the ranking be this time?
—I'm not sure, but most likely that boy, Erwing, will get first place again.
—I think that girl, Aziel, has a better chance. With the Walton family involved, they must be used to this type of test.
—No, that's absolutely impossible!
—What?! That should be me to say!
...
Soon they began to argue, more and more heatedly, like two little girls fighting over who could scream the loudest.
Already accustomed to the scene, the teachers decided to ignore them and focus on the monitor. However, deep down, everyone was curious. Who would come first? The genius taken in by the director, an SS-class magic warrior, or the proud ice mage of the Walton family?
But they only thought about it, they didn't dare to get involved in the discussion of these two monsters:
Veronica Glass, an S-class warrior and the only bearer of the title "Dragon Slayer", was accompanied by Alices Vonclear, a prodigy mage who possessed the legendary characteristic "dragon tongue".
–"So, do you want to bet?" Alice said, with a slightly defiant look.
Veronica glanced at her, irritated.– "And what do you have in mind?"
–"Simple. If I win, you lend me your sword for a while —she answered smiling mischievously.
—Ha, and what if you lose? —Veronica looked at her with a menacing look.
—What do you want in return?
—There is nothing that interests me from you.
—Really? Well, I have a "couple" of things, that you wouldn't have in a million years.
—What did you say?! —Veronica frowned, while Alice looked at her chest with an arrogant smile.
—Ah, bitch, if you lose I want that wand that you are so proud of.
—What!? Are you talking about my Morai?
—Yes, about that stinky branch that you stole from the elves.
—I didn't steal anything. I won a stem, but those cheapskates didn't want to give it to me, talking nonsense about the world tree and I don't know how many quarters.
—Anyway, do you accept or not?
Hesitating momentarily, Alices finally accepted. Both of them focused on the monitor, more attentive than ever, observing every detail with unusual intensity.

Tring!
I looked at the translucent window that appeared outside the dome. It recorded the names of all the applicants who had entered, along with a ranking that measured their performance.

After finishing the test, a white box appeared in my hands, accompanied by a message sent through the tower system. I was still bewildered, because I only remembered being in the tutorial, and suddenly, everything had gone black. For a moment, I thought I had failed and would end up being expelled, but... what is this?
—How did I end up in first place? And with this treasure on top of that?
Etherium, or simply "Ether," the most durable and magically conductive material in the world. It can be molded into any kind of weapon with just a thought.
One of the reasons NOVA had become the best academy in the world was precisely this: by passing the floors of the tower, a corresponding reward was granted, making the ranking visible on the outside and of crucial importance.
While I was lost in my thoughts, instructor Galahad looked at me with an interesting expression, then quickly pulled himself together. Me approached he, a little hesitantly.
–"Did you succeed?"
–"Yes, you passed."
–"So, can I go?"
–"No, you are now a NOVA, and as such, the academy will assign you a room. So wait a few minutes, someone will take care of finishing the paperwork."
Tring!
Interrupting my conversation, the system window appeared, indicating that the mission had ended.
