Transmigrated as an Extra: Awakening of The Ex‐Class”

Chapter 10: chapter 10 : Entrance ceremony part 2

◇[Aspirant Amelia Hart, identified with #220: achieved a record of 00:18:50, 4th place.]

I was exhausted, and I couldn't stop looking at the window in front of me. Little by little, my sight drifted to the leaderboard.

"…Fourth place?" I muttered, almost unable to believe it.

I never imagined I would be placed beyond third place. Disappointment invaded me, and I could see how my eyes, red from so much tiredness, reflected that frustration. My lost gaze scanned the room, until, for the first time, I met the eyes of that arrogant boy. And the worst of all was that he ignored me completely.

Something in his indifference hit me harder than any defeat.

For the first time in her life he had ignored her so blatantly and that frustrated her.

She looked again at the ranking, the records of those who had achieved it before her.

The shock was palpable. I never imagined I'd be voted out by an unknown kid. I could have accepted losing to Aziel, even Erwing, but… to someone like him? A guy with no track record, no merit whatsoever. I hated him. And yet, here I was, being beaten by someone I didn't even respect.

I couldn't help the bitter feeling of self-loathing. How had I gotten here? How could I let someone like him knock me into fourth place? I felt like all my effort, everything I'd done, meant nothing.

There were the results, clear and cold. The worst part of it all was that the boy responsible for such an atrocity didn't even seem to flinch. Three minutes. How the hell could he do something like that in three minutes? It was crazy. And the worst part was that he was someone who had just joined.

I remembered my father's words: "There are countless people in the world, Amelia. Don't be arrogant, there will always be someone better than you." At the time, I didn't give them much thought. I believed in myself, in what I could do, in my talent.

But at that moment, bitterness invaded me. I closed my eyes and bit my lips, trying to contain my rage.

"Cyan Vesper. The man who had humiliated me. I would never forget it."

With a sigh, I turned around and walked away, not looking back.

***

"Ugh."

They finally let me go. I collapsed into a simple room, the large, soft bed was all I needed at the moment. I was exhausted, my muscles aching from all the effort. I closed my eyes for a moment, letting the exhaustion take over. But curiosity killed the sleep, I couldn't take it anymore and looked at the rewards I had gotten.

<ÆGIS SYSTEM>

Tring!

A blue hologram appeared before my eyes

I checked my stats and talent to see if there were any significant changes, but sadly everything stayed exactly the same. Without further hesitation, I scrolled down.

*Babel (B+) 0% ]

Type: Linguistics

*You can partially understand and interpret the forms of language. Ancient and modern expressions.

It seems that one of the characteristics of this body is comprehension and analysis, which explains why the theoretical tests were easier for me and even how I was able to pass the recruitment test. However, I would remember if there was someone with such a characteristic in the novel. It might seem like just a skill for reading, but it should not be underestimated. These types of skills have incredible potential. I remember there was a character with something similar, and he turned out to be a huge nuisance for the protagonist.

So, there are only two possible scenarios: either he doesn't develop the ability, or he ends up dead.

In the case of the former, I highly doubt it. The constant incidents surrounding the school and its surroundings would force you to develop the ability from the moment you set foot in the NOVA academy, even if you don't want to. Not to mention his somewhat striking appearance, it would be hard for the author not to have mentioned it at least once. Therefore, if it was the latter, he most likely died on the train.

Putting the somewhat confusing thoughts out of my mind, I scrolled down and went to the skills menu

▪︎

[Resilience (A+) 20%] (passive)

*You have the ability to adapt and overcome adverse situations. You remain calm in any situation

Skills in this world are divided into two types: passive and active. Passive skills work automatically, without consuming mana, like a system that activates itself. Active skills, on the other hand, require more precise control and their use consumes mana, so they must be managed well to avoid running out of energy in the middle of combat.

This skill explains why, since I came to this world, every time I get upset or intense emotions take over me, I somehow manage to stay calm quickly. It is an incredible skill that has saved me in many situations.

[Master of a Thousand Weapons (A)]

*Unconditional proficiency over any type of weapon.

*Increases the speed of attacks with all weapons and Minimizes fatigue.

*Receives, interprets and analyzes information through the senses.

The reward I got at the cost of my life was truly incredible. An A-class skill that rivals some of the higher ranks just by its characteristics.

Satisfied with the first two skills I finally stopped my gaze on the last box
