Chapter 294: Expelled from the Crew
The caller was patient and called again. She disconnected the call once more, repeating this process three or four times, each time patiently cutting off the call.
Suddenly, she understood why Mason Nightshade used to hang up on her. This feeling was so satisfying; it could become addictive.
To prevent her sleep from being disturbed, when Mason's last call came through, she hung up and then turned off the phone, switched off the lights, and went to sleep peacefully.
But at the same time—
On the road downstairs from the hotel, there were few vehicles. The chilly wind howled, and only a black military vehicle was parked by the roadside. A tall man stood by the car, listening to the mechanical sound coming from the phone as his temples throbbed.
"How is it going? Still can't get through?" Grayson Quinn leaned out his head and lazily yawned.
Mason Nightshade's face was dark as the bottom of a pot, "It's turned off."
Two seconds of silence, then—"Hahaha..." Grayson Quinn doubled over with laughter, "Brother Mason, you're a complete failure. Not only did your wife not answer your calls, but she found you annoying enough to turn off her phone, hahaha."
"Shut up!" Mason Nightshade snapped angrily, taking two steps to get into the car, his handsome face gloomy, "Drive, let's go back!"
"Pfft!" Grayson Quinn struggled to hold back his laughter and drove the car back to Nightshade Residence.
——
In the morning, Aurelia Shaw had just arrived at the theater troupe and hadn't had the chance to do her makeup when Eliza Fletcher pulled her into a corner, smugly bragging, "Aurelia, weren't you cocky yesterday? Wait and see, today you'll be kicked out of the troupe!"
Aurelia squinted her eyes.
For some reason, Eliza Fletcher, despite threatening her, felt a cold chill down her spine when she saw Aurelia's eyes.
"Heh." Aurelia chuckled lightly, "Eliza Fletcher, I thought you had some impressive moves. Using this kind of tactic to defeat me, do you find real achievement in that? You obviously have acting skills, yet you use your body to get ahead. Even if you don't resort to other tactics, Sawyer will agree to let you play the second female lead. Wouldn't being taken advantage of physically like that feel disgusting?"
Eliza Fletcher's face changed, "What are you talking about!"
"If you want to know if I'm talking nonsense, just go ask Sawyer," she said with a light smile. Poor Eliza Fletcher, she inherently had better conditions, yet she was not confident enough, feeling she needed extra assurance, only to end up sacrificing herself in vain.
Watching her leave, Eliza clenched her fists, wanting to find Sawyer to clear things up. But as soon as she stepped forward, she regretted it, puffed out her chest and marched boldly into the troupe.
She won't ask! This must be another of Aurelia's schemes, so what if she is taken advantage of physically? She's already used to this method, since she's already been compromised, this time, she's determined to crush Aurelia, make her experience what it's like to be trampled underfoot!
Aurelia had just arrived at the troupe when Matthew Xenos called her over. She had anticipated the reason somewhat but didn't expect the whole troupe to be present. Ha, so they planned to embarrass her in front of everyone?
Matthew Xenos knew about her close relationship with Mason Nightshade, yet still dared to use this method to deal with her. It seemed Eliza Fletcher's seduction skills were quite potent.
"Starting today, you don't need to come to the troupe anymore." Lost in thought, Matthew's words sounded in her ears, straightforward and without unnecessary rambling, igniting the gossip hearts of the onlookers.
Her expression did not change, "Mr. Xenos, can I ask the reason why?"
As soon as she finished speaking, another firm voice rang out as Sawyer suddenly stood up, his tone assertive, "I disagree!"
