Chapter 286: This Is My Girlfriend
After finishing the call with Hadrian Turner, Aurelia Shaw put the camera back in its original position and reminded Hadrian Turner to delete the video.
She took her pajamas and walked into the bathroom, changing after her bath before coming out.
A night without dreams.
The next day, the film officially began shooting.
The first scene was Aurelia Shaw's solo shot.
Beautiful fingers held the paintbrush, the woman sat in front of the easel, the sunset streamed through the window, her porcelain-white face was bathed in a golden glow, her dark hair casually gathered at the back, with a few strands falling by her ears, which she did not bother with, focusing intently on the drawing, her bright black eyes seemed only concerned with the image on the paper.
Suddenly, the girl's eyes flickered, a thread of thought being pulled away.
Everyone's thoughts were also drawn away by her, wondering what disturbed the girl's tranquility?
But soon, everyone got an answer.
A car horn sounded outside the window.
The girl's tightly closed lips seemed to lift into a faint smile, she dropped the paintbrush, quickly ran to the window, impatiently leaned on it, looking down.
A man and woman stepped down from the car, the girl's clear eyes dimmed instantly, as if the light in them had vanished, fragile enough to make one ache.
Nikolai Collins and Phoebe walked into the house, Nikolai introduced Amelina Collins: "Eliza, this is Phoebe, Phoebe, this is my sister."
Amelina Collins pinched the hem of her dress, looking nervously at her brother and the strange woman next to him, biting her lower lip, her head lowered more and more, wishing she could curl up, hiding away.
Nikolai, usually most attuned to his sister's emotions, surprisingly didn't notice, his gentle gaze seemingly only fixed on Phoebe.
Phoebe—also known as Eliza Fletcher, raised a gentle smile, reaching out to Amelina Collins, "Eliza, hello, although it's our first meeting, I've often heard Nikolai mention you, you're even cuter than I imagined."
Amelina Collins stepped back two small steps, feeling a sense of resistance towards the woman in front of her.
Phoebe awkwardly smiled, casting a seeking glance at Nikolai.
Nikolai quickly said, "My sister has mild autism, she's somewhat afraid of strangers, she'll gradually get better once she's more familiar."
Why should I become familiar with her?
Amelina Collins silently asked in her heart.
She wanted to know what was the relationship between her brother and this woman? Why was he so gentle with her? Why did they appear so close? Could it be... that her brother was going to abandon her?
Thinking about this possibility made Amelina Collins's heart sting like needles.
She had many questions she wanted to ask, but somehow, she couldn't bring herself to speak.
She was afraid, afraid to ask, only wishing to retreat into her shell, fleeing from this disliked and unfamiliar place.
Why did everything suddenly change?
Why did even the surrounding air become suffocating?
Amelina Collins didn't know why she felt this way, but she did.
Turning around, she abruptly rushed back to her room, slamming the door shut.
And locked it.
Behind the door, she leaned against it, taking deep breaths, her little face slightly red, eyes moist, clear black eyes now filled with panic and anxiety, hands trembling, tightly clutching the hem of her dress.
"Eliza!" Nikolai's voice came from behind the door, Amelina Collins buried her head deeply in her hair, arms hugging herself, sliding down the door, tucking her head within her arms.
Nikolai called several times, but got no response. With his understanding of his sister, he knew he couldn't push her now, unsure of what she might do otherwise.
He turned back, showing Phoebe a smile full of apology, "Sorry, Eliza she..."
