Toman's Black Cat

Chapter 50: Let's find her

Chifuyu's POV

He ran after her as soon as he could. Riding his motorcycle at first down various roads to spot her anywhere at all. The more he searched, the less hopeful he became.

Thinking of how useless he had been to be immediately beat down by Kisaki and his lackey pissed him off to no end, but the fact that Y/n had been hurt because of it, nothing he could do would ever be able to make it up to her, yet here he is, still searching for her.

He was beginning to panic when he heard his name being called.

"You're looking for Y/n, right?"

He jerked his gaze up to see Hakkai coming toward him. "Yeah, have you seen her?" His heart began to crack under the pressure when Hakkai gave a quick shake of his head.

Chifuyu could only stand there trying to run through his mind every place she could be that he hadn't already checked.

The panic must have been very obvious, because Hakkai of all people clamped a hand on his shoulder. "We'll find her, man. Taka said she seemed out of it, so maybe she's lost, yeah?" Hakkai finished with a sad smile.

"Yeah, maybe. It's just…." Chifuyu looked up at the fresh snow falling from the sky. "It's cold. If she isn't at home, and isn't anywhere I know of, where could she be?" This made him clench his fists in a pain he couldn't put into words.

Hakkai looked down at his feet. "I swear if she's hurt, I'm not gonna stop until I find who did it and beat them to death."

This comment caused Chifuyu to look him in the eye only to see determination similar to that of Takemitchys'.

These two are really somethin. They fight in their own way and have people they aren't even aware of who care for them both.

"Alright, let's check outside of where we know she would normally go, then." Chifuyu spoke with confidence.

Hakkai's POV

Watching her scream and run away from Mikey wasn't what bothered him to the point that he came to look for her. He had only been able to remember the fear in her eyes. He had never seen her look so terrified.

He listened to Mitsuya tell others what they'd seen as discretely as possible to not further upset Mikey, but once that had been finished and it was only them, Mitsuya threw a comment over his shoulder while he made his way to Draken.

"As a captain, anyone who disrespects Mikey must be an enemy." He stopped before continuing. "As her friend, something is very wrong Hakkai."

Hakkai gave a firm nod and went to look for her, which is how he ran into Chifuyu now.

"Do you think she could ever forgive me, Chifuyu?" This one thought ran wild in his mind. Now that everyone knew the truth, it was obvious they'd all be put in danger because of his lie. Yes, they forgave him, but what if she didn't?

He heard Chifuyu give a light chuckle. "The last thing she can ever be described as is petty or willing to hold grudges." He gave a quick slap on Hakkai's back and a thumbs up.

Hakkai smiled. Chifuyu's right.

"Let's find her quickly."
