Tides of the Moon

Chapter 22: Chapter 22: Shadows on the Horizon

As Divine tried to process everything, the fragments of her past began to surface in small, fleeting glimpses. Each memory brought with it a mix of wonder and dread, as if the truth was both beautiful and terrifying.

But the Keeper's warning lingered in her mind. They'll come for you.

The next few days were uneventful on the surface, but Divine couldn't shake the feeling that she was being watched. Every shadow seemed darker, every whisper of the wind more sinister.

Caelan remained close, his protective nature intensifying with each passing day. But even he couldn't ease the growing sense of unease that settled over her.

And then, one night, the ocean roared to life once more, its waves crashing violently against the shore. Divine rushed outside, her heart pounding.

In the distance, silhouetted against the moonlight, were three figures standing at the edge of the water.

"They've found you," Caelan said grimly, his hand reaching for the blade at his side.

Divine took a step forward, her fear giving way to determination. "Then it's time to find out who I really am."

The story deepens as Divine's identity begins to surface, bringing both danger and hope. The romance with Caelan continues to build, but the arrival of new threats and the Keeper's warnings add layers of mystery and tension.
