Thrusted into a world ruled by women

Chapter 178: Carly Myer

Jin left Monster Bay and headed to Carly Myer's home. Her house's location was classified, but Jin had stolen that data and managed to find where she lived after learning about who worked on the Women's Evolution Program.

She lived in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood. It was also a gated community, and unfortunately, the HOA existed in this world as well. To make matters worse, it was run by men who wanted to have power and authority over women to some degree.

As Jin flew over the neighborhood, he spotted Carly watering plants outside in her front yard. An ankle monitor was strapped to her leg, and when Jin scanned it, he saw that it did not stop her from using her powers.

That didn't surprise him since her daughter was on the council, but still, it was crazy that she was simply living normally after everything she did. It made him angry.

He flew down, walking over to her house, and leaned on the gate around her house that you had to open to access the street.

"Nice day, isn't it?" He asked her, looking at the sky.

"A perfect day for gardening." She replied, not looking at Jin.

"How's house arrest treating you, Carly Myer?"

She paused, the water from the hose turning off, and she looked at Jin. When she noticed who it was, she chucked.

"Took you long enough." She dropped the hose and walked to her door. "Come inside."

Jin followed her into her house. It was a nice place and had a beautiful interior. There were pictures up on all the walls of her and her family, ornaments, decorations, and so on.

"Would you like anything?" She asked

"I'm fine." Jin responded.

She nodded, directed him to the living room, and they sat on opposite couches across from each other.

She sighed and looked him straight in the eyes. "What would you like to know?"

"Why did you do it?" He got straight to the point.

"You were a threat." No hesitation was in her response.

"A threat?"

"Even before women evolved, giving them abilities, we were the rules of society. Powers simply made that even more so."

"So you didn't want that power structure to crumble?" He asked

"That's right. There are women who advocate for the research of male genetic evolution. They want men to get powers. Do you understand how devastating that would be to the world?"

Jin shook his head because she was unbelievable. "Because of the actions of women?"

"Exactly. I won't deny that females have treated men poorly, and still do to this day. But imagine if you were raised with powers. You would become the hope for all men in the world, their guardian angel, their savior."

"You think I would have started a revolt?"

She nodded. "Even if you didn't want to, the pressure of billions of men across the world would have pressured you into doing it. This doesn't even include the women who would be on your side, like your mother."

Jin nearly snapped at that moment, but he restrained himself. He wanted, no, needed to hear her side of the story. But hearing it wouldn't change the choice he knew he was going to make.

"You know, I like the power dynamic of the world. Women being in control and all. I find it nice. I mean, healthcare is fucking free! That shit's amazing. I don't have a hero or savior complex, and I don't care about others unless it affects me."

Carly sighed. "I couldn't take the risks."

"Why not raise me instead?" Jin wasn't asking her to raise him, but he was asking why the Aegis Corps didn't just snatch him up and basically brainwash him.

"Seriously? Your mother was a Transcendant speedster, and your grandmother was another Transcendant who sat on the council. Not only that, but your mother was the student of Lacena."

"Ah, I would be untouchable." Jin chuckled

"That's an understatement. And guess what, I still went ahead with my plans, and nearly got killed because of it. Did you know that all of the scientists and even some councilmembers were slaughtered by your grandmother and Lacena?"

"I do."

"And why do you think Ally and I are alive?"

"Your knowledge."

"Exactly."

Jin squinted his eyes. "What do you know of Edens Garden?"

Carly was surprised that he knew what that was, but she answered him anyway.

"Not much. All I know is that they planned on making the perfect man, so I went against them. This is what got the Women Enhancement Project shut down. I didn't know Ally was still being funded by them, so I shut that down as well when I found out."

"And to make sure they never succeeded, you had every woman who was a part of the project killed."

"That's right." She nodded. "Are you going to kill me now?"

"Do you want me to?"

"No. But don't think I won't put up a fight if you try to."

"Mom! Who are you talking to?" A boy walked down the stairs, around the same age as Jin.

"Just the son of a friend from the past, dear. Head back upstairs."

"Who's this guy?" The son asked once more.

Jin looked at him with dead eyes, his expression freaking the guy out.

"Jeez, man. I bet you scare all the girls away with that look you have. I'm going back upstairs." He went back to his room.

"Don't mind him."

Jin smirked. "Well, isn't that cute?"

"Don't do it," Carly warned.

Jin lunged at her, his hand pulsing with mana that was ready to strike her down.

But Carly was prepared. She wasn't a pushover in the slightest. She sat on the Aegis Corps council and was one of the most powerful people on the continent, being a transcendent esper herself.

She stopped Jin in the air, then threw him back, flinging him through a wall. Her powers were absolute magnetism, and her powers were absolutely cracked. But that wasn't enough to take Jin down.

As he was being thrown back, he pulled her forward with mana, flipped his body angle midair, and punched her so hard that she flew out of the house.

"I'm not going to kill you right away. I'm going to make you suffer, and I'm going to enjoy every last second of your agony." Jin lunged at her once more.
