Chapter 177: Past life familiarity
Jin paused, looking at Ally as if she had committed the worst act in history. His body started shaking, not from fear, but from the realization that someone knew who he was, who he really was.
"D-Did you just say, Viron?" He asked, wanting to make sure that he heard her correctly.
"Yeah. I remembered that because it was so odd. I looked up what it could mean, and other than it being a name, I got nothing. And I also don't know how you would understand this because you weren't even born, but whatever. Oh, you should leave. The guards check up on me every hour, and you came at the 45-minute mark."
Jin snapped out of his shock, then teleported out of the building.
"Wow, magic is cool. He's in a cell designed to dampen powers, and he can still use those abilities. Amazing!"
---
There was so much going on in his head at the moment that Jin didn't know what to do. He was shocked, confused, and even slightly scared. He wasn't scared of his life, but he was scared that one of his past life enemies knew of his existence in this world.
After all, Viron is his name in a previous world, his first-ever reincarnated world, in fact. Since that was the first world he had ever reincarnated in, he was very, very, very immature and had tons of enemies.
He took that world as a joke, did whatever he wanted, causing the death of the people around him, including his loved ones. This also made people hate and curse him all the time.
He clearly remembers people saying that they would chase him to the ends of the earth or even in the afterlife to get revenge, and currently, Jin felt as if that were the case.
"But that's impossible! I...I didn't even become that strong in my first life! Okay, I did, but not as strongly as I did in my other lives."
Jin managed to reach the peak of the world in terms of strength in his first world, but that was after a lot of bloodshed and trials.
This set the standard of how he approached getting stronger in his future lives. He truly didn't start breaking through the limit of the world he was in until around his 20th world. But each reincarnation helped him take a step into that limit-breaking expierence.
"This world is flowing with mana, but it's not a mana haven like my first world. The only reason this world is flowing with mana is that no one uses it. So, if this woman reincarnated like me, she shouldn't be that much stronger than me, unless she broke past her limits. But if she arrived on this planet through space travel, then that was a different story."
Worlds that give their species the ability to use mana have a higher concentration of it. Because of this, it allows a person to break through their limits much easier than a world that doesn't give its species access to mana.
The women in this world had biological changes done to their bodies, so they had to evolve biologically to break through their limits. This meant that it would be harder for them to do so, and their overall strength would reach a cap until evolution took over, woman-made or not.
"And because she's a woman, she most likely has powers as well. But to prevent me from peeking into Ally's memories, she has to be extremely powerful, or at least more skilled than me in spell casting. Dammit, man!"
Now he understood why the Sons of Adam were after him. Even if Carlnitus didn't know the real reason behind everything, he still knew that Jin was a valuable asset who needed to join them.
Jin concluded that Carlnitus took matters into his own hands and stopped listening to this Madam Eve person and simply wanted him to be on his side, nothing more, nothing less.
That didn't turn out as he hoped, either, and Jin killed the man.
"I've already done a mana scan around the world and couldn't find anyone like me. This person is most likely reincarnated, and if they aren't, they've blended into society well enough for me not to notice them even if I use all the tech I want. And they've been behind the scenes, plotting everything even before I was born. This means that this woman knew that I was going to arrive on this planet."
Jin thought about it for a bit. "Could it be one of those bastard Primordial gods, the supreme beings who kept me in that reincarnation loop? No, they would have come here to get me already if that were the case. This part of the universe is probably out of their sector."
There was so much that Jin didn't know, and so many answers that needed questioning, but dwelling on it wouldn't get him anywhere. So, he pushed these thoughts to the back of his mind.
His reasoning was simple. Nothing happened to him for 18 years besides Carly going rogue and trying to kill him, and the Sons of Adam, who tried to get him on his side.
And currently, the threat of the Láspi was more important to him as well as speaking to Carly Myer.
"Since I'm confident that this Eve woman is responsible for giving the Láspi mana, I'll just deal with the creature and see what I can find after. If nothing comes up, then I won't worry about it and have them come to me instead."
[Would you like me to go over everyone in the world who's named Eve?] Jess asked
"What? No. That's literally billions of people. Besides, 'Eve' could just be a fake name for all we know."
[That's true. Well, allow me to inform you that the barrier is 90 percent complete. This remaining ten percent will be the hardest part, adding the Láspinium to the mix to make a radioactive barrier.]
"Do what you can and tell me if you need any help."
[Roger that, partner.]
