Thriller!Me? The Death Knight

Chapter 31: Hands Stained with Suffering! Yi Bai Awakens!

"The Second Bloodline Gift?"

Lina's delicate face was filled with confusion. The term was utterly foreign to her, and she had never heard of it before.

Count Rose's expression was equally complex. He spoke slowly, "Yes, the second gift. Even within the entire vampire clan, it's been thousands of years since anyone has awakened a second gift."

"Does that mean..." Lina's eyes shifted, growing more excited. "Yi Bai's gift..."

"Exactly. His talent could be extraordinarily powerful!" Before Lina could finish, Count Rose confirmed.

"In the recorded history of the vampire clan, there have only been six dual-gifted vampires. None of them were weaker than the pinnacle of the Blood-Clad Ghosts, and the others were all of indescribable power!"

"Some of them might still be alive today, hiding in a distant fortress, and they remain one of the clan's most terrifying legacies!"

Count Rose's tone was filled with awe, and the shock in her eyes had turned to excitement.

Yi Bai was one of the vampires she had turned, so in a sense, he belonged to her bloodline.

A dual-gifted vampire of the new generation!

This news was enough to shake the entire vampire clan!

The implications were beyond words.

Once other families learned of it, Yi Bai would likely become the most coveted figure in the clan.

Countless vampires would go to great lengths to court him.

A dual-gifted vampire was almost like a future being of unimaginable power.

No vampire family would pass up the chance to gain his favor.

"Looks like I've struck it rich with this little one," Count Rose murmured, licking her lips with a predatory gleam in her eyes.

Her slender hand lightly traced the line of her other arm.

Blood, the color of ruby, began to form in the air, flowing toward Yi Bai's lips.

Though his breath had become nearly imperceptible, he instinctively began to drink the blood.

"Glurp..."

"Glurp..."

With each swallow, Yi Bai's pale face began to regain color, and his breath steadied. A new force began to quietly surge within him.

Meanwhile, Count Rose's face began to lose its color, her voice weak as she mumbled, "This little guy has drained me so much... If the first treatment doesn't meet my expectations, hmph!"

"Something's happening!" Lina exclaimed, her wings of the Death Angel flaring open once again, as if they had been provoked by something.

She was surprised—it was the second time today that her inner power had been influenced and autonomously defended itself.

"Hiss!!!"

Count Rose was equally startled.

She gasped, her gaze fixated on Yi Bai, where four blood-red arms hovered in midair beside him.

"Hands Stained with Suffering! Yi Bai has awakened this terrifying gift!"

Count Rose's voice was filled with disbelief, her excitement growing more intense.

"Is this gift really that powerful?" Lina, ever the curious student, asked.

"Powerful? The Hands Stained with Suffering can't be measured by strength alone. It's... how should I explain it? It's a very unique gift—one of the few that, according to legend, can unlock the vampire's Blood Sea World!"

"The Blood Hands, when controlled by their master, are incredibly agile in both offense and defense. Once they grip an enemy, it's the beginning of their nightmare!"

"Once the Blood Hands make contact, they attach themselves and begin to erode the enemy's body. During this process, all the pain and torment you can imagine will likely be perfectly manifested!"

"There was once an ancestor of the clan who possessed the Hands Stained with Suffering. With the power of the Blood-Clad Ghost, he tortured an unspeakable being beyond imagination!"

"Of course, that ancestor died a tragic death as well."

Count Rose shrugged, remembering the arrogance of that particular vampire ancestor, and shook her head.

Lina remained silent, unsure how to respond.

Indeed, to challenge an unspeakable being with the strength of a Blood-Clad Ghost and to torment such an existence to the brink of despair?

Well, one could only say he got what he deserved.

"Wait... what is this?"

Yi Bai gradually opened his eyes, feeling the warmth and sweetness at the corner of his mouth. For a moment, he was confused.

Unable to resist, he instinctively took two more greedy swigs.

Count Rose rolled her eyes in mock exasperation, "You little ingrate! You've already awakened your gift and you're still drinking my blood so greedily!"

Her slender arm healed instantly, no more blood flowing from her wound.

Yi Bai finally came to his senses. "Blood? I've been drinking your blood?!"

"What did you think you were drinking? Pure milk?" Count Rose replied with a half-amused, half-annoyed tone.

"Yi Bai, it was Count Rose who saved you. When you awakened your second gift, your energy was too weak, and it was her blood that helped you recover," Lina added helpfully, signaling Yi Bai not to make a mistake.

"Ah, thanks." Though still unclear on the situation, Yi Bai decided it was better to express gratitude first.

A simple thank you wouldn't cost him anything, right?

"You don't have to thank me. I also bear some responsibility for this. I didn't expect you to awaken so quickly," Count Rose said, shaking her head, her tone carrying a hint of nostalgia.

It felt like... buying a lottery ticket yesterday, and winning millions today.

It was still a bit hard to believe.

"Wait! What's all this?!"

Yi Bai suddenly froze, staring at the four thin, black creatures guarding him, and the four blood-red arms hovering in the air.

Feeling the strange connection with them, as if they were extensions of himself, he quickly regained his composure.

"Phantom Shadows... the Hands of Suffering? Is this... the power of the vampires?"

Yi Bai's heart raced with uncontrollable excitement.

The kind of power that others could only dream of—powers that only ghosts or monsters could wield.

And he had acquired it so effortlessly, with a gift far beyond what ordinary creatures could control!

How could he not be excited? How could he not feel exhilarated?

In a world of death and danger for humans, Yi Bai believed he would walk a path never before seen.

And in this world, power... was something that, while not always necessary, could never be overlooked!

He was grateful, more than ever, that he now had it.
