The pack of wolves cautiously approached the tree, their senses on high alert. They split into two groups, strategically positioning themselves on both sides of the tree, effectively cutting off any possible escape route for the intruder. As they crept closer, the tension in the air was palpable.
With swift and calculated movements, the two groups of wolves simultaneously lunged at the area behind the tree, their razor-sharp claws slashing through the air with perfect synchronicity. Their movements were well-coordinated, demonstrating years of experience and numerous battles working together. As they closed in on the target, they expertly dodged each other in mid-air, narrowly missing collision by mere inches.
However, as the wolves landed and skidded to a stop, they realized their quarry was not there. Their eyes locked on the spot they had just attacked, and they cautiously assessed the situation, coming to terms with the fact that their target had eluded them.
The pack of wolves was on high alert, unable to understand why the intruder wasn't taking advantage of the wide opening they had left themselves vulnerable to for a potential counterattack. Just then, a faint rustling noise from above caught the wolves' attention, causing them to prepare for an impending attack.
From a distance, the other pack members noticed the subtle shift in the trees and began howling to warn the specialized ranged wolves. Without hesitation, the ranged specialists synchronized their wind attacks with impeccable precision, aiming at the source of the disturbance in the foliage. However, the wolves' attack only made contact with the foliage.
Moments before the attack, Aleshia carefully considered her options in the face of the looming threat of the wolves. She knew she had limited options. Even if she managed to outrun them, they would track her down. She understood they wouldn't give up on their pursuit easily. Equally, Aleshia understood trying to attack the wolves would likely prove deadly for her and Kailey. Her only hope lay with Lucia, the witch hat who seemed to have made a connection with the wolves. Making up her mind, Aleshia decided to have a neutral approach and wait for Lucia to make a move.
Aleshia observed the wolves drawing near, ready to pounce the tree she hid behind. Aleshia silently cast a concealment spell, making her more difficult to see. She then swiftly and silently started climbing the tree. Meanwhile, she began crafting a timed explosive using her lightning element and some dirt she collected from the ground. After creating the makeshift bomb, she threw it. A few seconds later, it exploded. However, to Aleshia's disappointment, it was too weak and only caused the tree to shake slightly.
