Decision
Chapter 84 Decision
Aleshia and Lucia could not agree on what they saw and failed to reach a mutual understanding. "Just look right there! It's as clear as day!" Aleshia shouted, waving her hands to emphasize her frustration. "I still don't see what you described," Lucia said, shaking, trying to express her frustration.
Dahdin glanced now and again, hearing the two bickering. The squabbling was a distraction for Dahdin, allowing him to slightly lift the burden of holding down the ravaging power of the distortions and disallowing their escape from his domain. He left his sight from the bickering pair and glanced worriedly at the distortions far from his view. Even though those distortions were clearly out of his range of containment, he knew it was just a trick of perspective. He could sense that the distortions, which seemed far away, were much closer than they appeared.
Dahdin considered how to retrieve the distortions before they escaped into the outside world, but he chose to wait because he believed there was already a good plan in place. However, because of his cautious nature, he began implementing a measure that would activate if things went downhill.
"Hey, Dahdin, come over here. We want you to decide on something!" the two shouted simultaneously. Dahdin's ears pricked up as their shouting startled him. He realized he had disordered something in his conjuring. "Tsk, I messed up. It doesn't matter anyway," he thought. With this last thought, he left his spot and galloped to the two's location.
When he finally arrived at their location, he looked up to meet Lucia's gaze and asked what they wanted. "Is there something urgent?" As she began to speak, she faltered when she met the Green Wolf's stern gaze. However, Aleshia did not understand the seriousness of the Green Wolf's gaze and shouted about their frivolous trouble. "Dahdin, what do you see over there?" Aleshia pointed once again at the slab she saw.
Dahdin gazed in the direction Aleshia was pointing. To him, it appeared differently. Just as he focused on the distortion the two argued about, the world around him changed, distorting his vision until he couldn't see clearly. Dahdin had felt this way before when he tried to test the distortions using his power of nature on the distortion. However, this feeling the distortion gave off was much more powerful. Dahdin understood that he wasn't blind. He just wasn't able to see because of the smog it emitted.
