The Village Disciples

NOZOMU RESIDENCE(EARLIER IN THE DAY)

Nozomu was putting a bowl of soba in his microwave, wanting to sit back and relax with a nice warm bowl of soba noodles. Every day seemed to be boring Nozomu, all he did was sit at home or occasionally help around the village for a salary, he had to pay for food and their home somehow.

*BEEP*

*BEEP*

*BEE-*

Once Nozomu heard the heavenly sound of the microwave beeping, signifying that his noodles had been boiled. He hastily opened the microwave and carefully grabbed the bowl, not wanting to spill any of the contents. He then paced his way to his dining room table, on the table a neatly folded newspaper was placed. Nozomu had a mobile device but was never one to indulge in any internet activities.

As Nozomu was eating, his phone that was placed on the kitchen counter started vibrating, sighing. Nozomu regretfully stood up and walked away from his unfinished bowl of noodles, he then picked up his phone.

'WARNING'

'Buruanmajikku Academy is currently under attack. In response, we ask that all folks in the village currently undergo lockdown, local warriors will be flooding the scene soon enough.

'For the mean ti-'

*SWOOSH*

Nozomu didn't even finish the village amber alert, the moment the warning set into his head he rushed out of his door. Sadly leaving a bowl of unfinished noodles on his table.

As Nozomu was sprinting to the academy, he kept his phone in his hand. When Ms. Manabu visited his home, she suggested swapping contact information. In case of any emergencies or 'just wanting to hang out', the second one confused Nozomu but still accepted.

As Nozomu was running, he noticed a cloud of smoke ascending to the sky. The more he ran, the faster. Tiny arcs of lightning started to spread throughout Nozomu's body, making his speed increase the longer he ran.

He then spotted Buraunmajikku, but obviously different from the last time he saw it. A part of the building was up in flames and Nozomu could see walls of different colored magic barricading each of the classrooms that were in his line of sight.

Putting his phone out in front of him as he ran, he opened his contacts and pressed on 'Reberu Manabu'. Nozomu then texted Ms. Manabu three times,

'Hey, what happened?'

'I'm on my way to the academy'

'stay safe'

Putting his phone away, Nozomu ran to the part of the building that was set aflame. The closer he got, the more he sensed someone's magic. A certain someone's magic, a very familiar aura that made Nozomu nearly freeze in place. The only reason he didn't stop entirely was because of another familiar aura.

'Manabu's in there!' Nozomu mentally noted,

Forming lightning in his hand, Nozomu reeled his fist back. Then pumped it forward, he then watched as his lightning made contact with a wall of the school, making sure that the enemy was in the trajectory of the blast. Sensing them behind the wall.

The wall then exploded into rubble as his lightning attack charged through it, then he felt his lightning stop being pushed forward, seemingly making contact with the enemy. Nozomu then noticed that the enemy was still in the same spot as before.

In retaliation, Nozomu sent an even stronger charge of lightning at the enemy, this time sending the target back. Nozomu then ran forward through the smoke that his attack left behind, only to come face to face with-

"IMAWASHIKI!"

"Never thought I'd see you again, Kaminari Nozomu."

Standing face to face, Nozomu and Imawashiki were having a one-sided staring/glaring challenge. Neither one of them blinked, until.

"Man, time sure does fly by, doesn't it Kaminari?" Imawashiki asked, in a creepily friendly tone.

In response, Nozomu only questioned, "Why are you here!?"

Imawashiki's plastered smile only grew, confusing and infuriating Nozomu, "Well originally we came to obtain one of the original Tansu members, but now. Maybe we can get a hold of two."

The moment those words sunk into Nozomu's head, he spiraled into a panic. 'He's after members of the Tansu!? How many of them are still even alive? And if I'm being targeted, Tanjo might get stuck in the crossfire!.. Wait, Ms. Manabu!'

"Manabu and I have both resigned from battle! Neither of us is on the field anymore." Retorted Nozomu, hoping for Imawashiki's motives to change. But, clearly failing.

"Considering how Manabu can still perfectly manipulate her surroundings and how you can still break my barrier, you both can still dominate in any fight that you engage in!"

"I'm sorry but we decline!" Nozomu shot back,

Imawashiki looked a little displeased, stirring Nozomu's emotions. Not wanting a fight to break out,

"Well I'm sorry, but my king won't accept 'no' for an answer, besides, Moeru misses you and Kanden" Imawashiki informed, shocking Nozomu.

"King? Who in the hell are you working for? And Kanden is MY sacred beast, what he does is under my authority!" Nozomu interrogated.

Imawashiki sighed in annoyance, "This conversation is taking too long, either come with me willingly. Or I take you by force," Offered Imashiki.

Suddenly, Imawashiki's magic aura started becoming visible by his ear, showing a red glow. Surprisingly, Imawashiki became more attentive to the new situation than the conversation. After a few seconds, the aura died down and dissipated completely.

"Well... Sadly this confrontation will be prolonged, my king ordered for my return." Imawashiki announced, making Nozomu feel mentally relieved.

Some newly formed fire then started to consume Imawashiki, spiraling all around him. Right before he disappeared, he stated, "But, I will be back Kaminari." Fire then fully consumed his body and then nothing but smoke and hot air was left,

Footsteps were then heard behind Nozomu, making him turn around and notice Ms. Manabu slowly walking out from the mostly destroyed principal's office. Fortunately not looking injured,

"I need to go check on the students, you may go home. I'm sorry you had to come here," Ms. Manabu Ordered and then apologized.

"You're fine, It was out of our control. But from now on, I want to be updated on any news of people invading the village for my and the student's safety. Students like Tanjo can easily be mixed up in the crossfire of our affairs." Nozomu requested, then starting to walk away before slightly turning around.

"But, I'm entrusting those kids' safety with you, so please protect them."

Hey! I've surprisingly been more active when it comes to posting new chapters? I'm not complaining, that means the story will continue to progress! Sadly we didn't get to see a fight between Imawashiki and Nozomu, but now would be an awful time for that, way too early on for that. Stay tuned for more chapters!
