The Unruly Immortals

Chapter 387: 385

"What's with this guy? How did he jump down from such a high building? Should we call an ambulance?"

"Guard! There's someone injured here!"

"Hey! I recognize him, he's been on TV! Heard he's a great hero who does good for the people."

"Look at his hand, it's injured, poor thing."

Discussions of other patients around them couldn't distract Li Huowang in the slightest; he withdrew his gaze from the cell in front of him, raised his head, and started looking around for something.

"Although I've come out from its belly, I'm still in the water. If I don't hurry back to the boat, I might drown!"

Li Huowang kept searching until his eyes suddenly fixed on a distant steel watchtower.

It seemed to be the perimeter of the White Tower Prison, where a soldier armed with a gun was craning his neck, looking around quizzically.

The watchtower was quite tall, standing out conspicuously higher than the surrounding buildings, the highest point nearby.

"No mistake, that's the boat I was on!" Li Huowang swiftly raised his hands, moving them through the air as if swimming, and headed toward the steel watchtower.

Li Huowang felt intense pain all over his body, and his arms were nearly too weak to lift; his body was falling apart.

He understood that he must have been severely injured inside the belly of that monster, though he didn't know if it was from being bitten or corroded by stomach acids.

But he couldn't give up easily. Li Huowang, with all the strength he could muster, swam forward, muttering to himself, "Li Sui, help your dad, help me swim faster. I can't see what's happening over there; it's all on you now!"

As soon as he said it, Li Huowang felt as if a surge of energy had indeed welled up within him, aiding him. "Thank you, Li Sui!"

Right at that moment, a large group of prison guards emerged from the prison gate, holding nets, tridents, and other weapons, anxiously chasing after Li Huowang.

In the ellipse-shaped exercise yard within the White Tower prison area, one man ran ahead while a group chased after him. Li Huowang's movements weren't as quick as theirs, and the distance between them was rapidly closing.

Finally, reaching the edge of the yard, a dense wire fence stood between Li Huowang and the watchtower. Without any hesitation, he caught his fingers in the gaps and started climbing.

Seeing the situation spiral out of control, the soldier in the watchtower quickly lifted his rifle and closed one eye, ready to aim.

"Don't shoot! Don't shoot for heaven's sake!" A panicked voice came from the chasing crowd. "This guy's really high profile in society right now! If he dies in our prison area, we'll be in big trouble!"

Meanwhile, Li Huowang had reached the top, a roll of spikes covered with barbs presented itself before him.

As Li Huowang reached out to grab the spiked roll to get over it, a blue electric arc sprang out upon contact, clearly indicating that it was electrified with high voltage.

Seeing this, the various tridents and nets below that had just reached up hastily retracted, afraid to get electrocuted.

"Think this pain can stop me? Not good enough!" With a ferocious expression, Li Huowang grabbed the spiked roll with one arm and exerting tremendous force, flipped his body on top of it. His skin began to char, and his patient's clothes started to smoke.

"Cut the power! Cut the power now!"

As Li Huowang's body was about to self-combust, everyone stood below, staring dumbfounded at the man emitting white smoke who could still move. "My god, is he even human?"

With the last ounce of his strength, Li Huowang leaped onto the iron steps around the corner of the nearby guard tower.

"Ha... ha..." Li Huowang gasped for air, his whole body numb, his consciousness beginning to sink into fuzziness.

At this moment, he was extremely tired, as if the last bit of energy had been squeezed out of him, but he was nearly back at the ship, he absolutely couldn't fail at this moment.

Taking a deep breath, Li Huowang abruptly stood up, using his hand, mangled by the barbed cage, to support himself on the nearby railing, he staggered toward the guard tower.

Seeing that this terrifying madman had actually climbed up the steps, the two soldiers on duty didn't know whether to raise their guns or not.

In the end, they simply reversed their guns, lifting the heavy gunstocks instead.

However, they were very surprised to find that this madman, upon reaching the guard tower, just stood there motionlessly and didn't seem to mean any attack on them.

Of course, Li Huowang didn't need to move anymore because he understood that he had temporarily escaped danger, returning to the deck.

After catching his breath, Li Huowang mustered his energy and said to the two in front of him, "Captain, don't... don't stop, keep heading to Apricot Island."

"Da da da." Hearing the sound of various shoes clanking on the metal ladder, the dizzy Li Huowang's heart instantly filled with alarm bells.

Hugging the wall, he quickly retreated, forming an angle between himself and the people rushing in and the two in front of him.

Seeing the silver gleam of the prongs in their hands, Li Huowang hysterically shouted, "Water monkeys, right? You won't drag me back into the water!!"

Just as they were about to pounce, Li Huowang decisively reached for his left eye with his right hand.

"Huowang!" The almost wailing voice made Li Huowang's hand pause, he looked bewildered toward the 'water monkeys' in front of him, a streak of white walking out from among them.

It was Yang Na, her face haggard, she stood there, so pitiful. "Huowang, you're lucid, right? You recognize me now, don't you?"

Subconsciously lowering his head to avoid Yang Na's gaze, the groggy Li Huowang suddenly raised his hand, his mouth opening wider and wider, "I am the Great Sage Equalling Heaven, Sun Wukong! Today I shall shatter Lingxiao Palace, create havoc in the Heavenly Palace!!"

Li Huowang, with tears streaming down, laughed loudly, dancing with his hands and feet in front of everyone like a true madman.

Seeing Li Huowang's behavior, Yang Na's heart ached as if pierced by knives, and she nearly collapsed as she yelled, "Huowang! What do you want me to do! I really can't forget you!!"

Upon hearing her words, Li Huowang gradually stopped, and after the expression on his face changed, he staggered toward her, raising his right hand with a white wildflower the size of a fingernail cap cradled in his bloody hand.

Taking advantage of Li Huowang's momentary distraction, a gunstock quickly reached out from the side and smashed down hard on Li Huowang's forearm, bending it completely at a right angle.

As a powerful force hit him from behind, the two soldiers from behind charged up and pinned Li Huowang to the ground, while the others, fearful that the maniac in front of them might lash out and harm someone, hurriedly went over to help, the number of people pressing down on him increasing until he was nearly submerged.

Li Huowang's gaze passed through the swaying crowd to the helpless and desperate Yang Na and muttered softly, "Nana... I'm sorry for before...."
