Chapter 197: Comparing Quantities
"Dead."
The flames swept past Sun Wukong, and as he looked towards the location of the Divine Furnace, he could no longer feel the woman's presence.
The woman was dead, transformed into silvery white flames that burned in the vast Chaos. The Divine Radiance illuminated everything in its path, splitting open the heavens and the earth, sculpting vast lands with methods as miraculous as those of spirits and gods.
The land was layered with mountain upon mountain, and all life emerged amidst the flames. In an instant that spanned thousands of years, springs burst forth, forming rivers and seas that surged violently.
Sun Wukong stood in a desolate graveyard, looking around under a sky shrouded with black mist, no longer able to see the chaotic vista.
"A small world."
Sun Wukong thought to himself. This piece of land emitted a vibe of deathly silence and ancient vastness, it was aged and bloody, and its divine might was so overwhelming it felt like a massive life form that made it hard to breathe.
"Immortal Zhenyuan and the others are okay, right?"
Sun Wukong's divine senses swept across and caught the presence of the beings from the Three Realms.
They were trapped in a swamp miles away, but all was well.
Sun Wukong's divine senses continued to spread. The land was boundless, even larger than the Three Realms, and all the Divine Power Creatures trying to escape were also trapped by this land.
They were ensnared in different places, some under the scorching sun where all life was baked into bones, others in lands of ice and snow with fierce winds like tigers.
But the graveyard where Sun Wukong stood was silent, surrounded only by ancient bones scattered around, which emitted wailing sounds in the wind.
"Each set of bones beside you was once an Overlord of a world."
A voice echoed in the sky, and Sun Wukong looked up to see eight figures hovering amidst the clouds, their undying brilliance piercing through billions of miles, illuminating the Ninth Heaven.
"These Overlords died here, becoming our power."
An old man with white sideburns spoke: "Soon, you will be one of them."
"I don't approve of your methods."
Sun Wukong raised the Jingu Bang.
The land was bizarre, like dried-out sponge that absorbed the power of all living beings.
Sun Wukong could feel his immortal power quickly draining away.
This was the Great Method of the Undying Beings, seizing the Creation from all things, but Sun Wukong despised it.
"A place like this, I can shatter it with one strike!"
Sun Wukong declared.
"Ha ha ha ha."
The Undying Beings laughed: "This land is constructed from the Star Cores of countless Star Palaces, have you ever considered how many Immortals have died here?"
Along with their laughter, the sky thundered, infinite brilliance poured forth, the persistent black clouds suddenly surged and transformed into a vast silver tidal wave.
Sun Wukong looked up to see the sky filled with silver tides, and each crest of the wave held a Heavenly Soldier wielding a sharp sword – a formidable Undying Army.
"Here, we are the rulers!"
The Undying Beings shouted: "Be devoured by these tides!"
In an instant, the boundless army of the Undying crashed down onto the land.
Sun Wukong's eyes blazed with the will to fight, and his golden hairs were tinged with a layer of silver in the wind.
"Tides?"
He plucked a Monkey Hair: "This is the real tide!"
The next second, a swath of golden light spread across the land, boundless Immortal Light soared into the sky, turning into thousands of exploding radiances amidst the tumultuous roaring, shaking the earth.
"Are those Undying Beings serious?"
Miles away, Immortal Zhenyuan watched the sky as the light burst: "They want to compete in numbers with my Wise Brother?"
It was the most foolish attack he had ever seen.
Bursts of radiance clashed in the sky like exploding celestial stars, eclipsing the sun and shaking the heavens with deafening cracks.
It was a chilling battle, vast and terrifying, each impact of light shook the space, echoing through the Nine Heavens!
"We created this world; we are the deities of this land."
The sky burned in the warfare, the Undying Emperor shouted loudly: "Sun Wukong, in this world, you are destined to fail!"
"Boom!"
Sun Wukong responded to them with the Jingu Bang.
With each thunderous bang, the silver tides crashed, countless Heavenly Soldiers fell in all directions, like a meteor shower covering the sky.
Immortal Zhenyuan almost got hit by the falling soldiers.
After dodging in time, he looked at the sky.
"Emperor Yao, how long do you think those Undying Beings can hold up?"
He asked.
In the sky, Immortal Palaces and Temples began to emerge amidst the dark clouds, with divine glows stretching across the sky, resembling waves of torrential oceans, rapidly crashing down towards Sun Wukong.
Each Immortal Palace radiated undying majesty, with boundless fighting spirit coalescing together, terribly shocking.
But Immortal Zhenyuan believed that in the end, Sun Wukong would definitely win.
"With this way of fighting, Sun Wukong is bound to lose."
Emperor Yao observed the sky and said: "This land is a graveyard, all consumed immortal power will turn into the strength for those Undying Emperors."
He understood the situation better than Immortal Zhenyuan. If Sun Wukong continued to fight in this manner, it would only be a pointless depletion of his strength, making those Undying Emperors stronger.
"Rather than him, we should worry about ourselves!"
Emperor Yao drew his long sword, where the Heavenly Soldiers had fallen, they stood up again.
"This Heavenly Soldier is not much weaker than you."
Emperor Yao spoke coldly: "Those Undying Emperors, having created such a vast expanse of land, must have expended greatly, they will not let go of any potential nourishment."
They were like insects falling into a trap; if they did not escape, they would be drained dry.
