The Strongest Eriri in History

Chapter 280: The Empire Shaken

The black labor team that had been exploring the unknown, along with the ruins they were investigating, had all vanished without a trace. The only surviving worker squad was a single team, and this news quickly reached the ears of the Emperor of the Baharuth Empire.

The Emperor of Baharuth, Jircniv Rune Farlord El-Nix, earned the title 'Bloody Emperor' after ascending to the throne and purging the nobles within his empire.

"The ruins are all gone?" Jircniv, sitting on a sofa, looked gravely at the secretary who was half-kneeling in front of him.

"Yes, Your Majesty. According to the intelligence brought back by our spies, that ruin, along with all the creatures within it, was destroyed in a short time by an unknown member of the worker squad 'Foresight' using a powerful fire-based magic. What was once the site of the ruins has now been replaced by a bottomless sinkhole, several kilometers wide," the secretary replied respectfully, though his voice trembled faintly, clearly shaken by this information.

The secretary's words caused a deep silence to fall over Jircniv, while the senior members of the empire, seated on sofas to either side, began to murmur among themselves.

"Is this real? This can't be possible!" A tall man dressed in black armor, standing next to Jircniv's sofa, spoke in disbelief.

This man was Baziwood Peshmel, the leader of the Empire's Four Knights. He was close to Jircniv and deeply trusted by him, which allowed him to freely voice his opinion even in such a formal setting.

On the other side of Jircniv's sofa, stood the man known as the Empire's strongest protector, Fluder Paradyne. He made no comments, and there was not a flicker of emotion on his face. However, inside, his mind was far from calm. He knew exactly how powerful the master of that tomb had been, and to call them a "god of magic" would not be an exaggeration.

Just a few days prior, after witnessing the terrifying amount of magic energy emanating from that person, and the magic levels they could wield, Fluder had knelt before them, offering his complete submission.

For the sake of exploring the depths of magic, he was willing to forsake all dignity—he would have given up anything to understand the true depths of magic.

Now, to think that the tomb's master had been obliterated, perhaps even killed, in a single ruin exploration… how could he not feel horrified and shaken to his core?

But soon, Fluder's thoughts shifted again. His true pursuit was to see the depths of magic, and who led him there didn't matter. The one who had used a powerful fire magic to obliterate the entire ruin was undoubtedly stronger than that tomb's master. Hence, Fluder's goal now turned to this unknown, powerful magic caster.

Minutes later, Jircniv's sharp eyes focused on the secretary, and he asked, "Are you sure this was witnessed in person?"

"Yes, Your Majesty. The spies who had been trailing the worker team to the ruins witnessed it firsthand from the outskirts," the secretary replied, his voice slightly tense.

When Arche destroyed the entire underground tomb of Nazarick, she did not conceal her appearance; she hovered in the air while casting her magic, so the Empire's spies had clearly seen her.

With her current strength, even if all the Dragon Kings united against her, they would be no match for her single attack. She had no reason to worry about anyone causing trouble for her.

In fact, she almost hoped the Dragon Kings would come after her. If that were to happen, it might offer some entertaining material to share with the chat group members.

Previously, she had concealed her power mainly to avoid making Ainz cautious, ensuring that the plot to explore the underground tomb of Nazarick could proceed smoothly.

Now that her goal had been completed and Nazarick was destroyed, she no longer cared if her true power was revealed.

"I see," Jircniv nodded solemnly. "I've never heard of a magic capable of causing this kind of devastation. Even the Six Great Gods or the Eight Greed Kings couldn't do it."

If the person behind this had released such a magic in the Imperial Capital, it would certainly bring about a catastrophic disaster for the Empire.

However, Jircniv did not despair. After all, the person was still human.

If he looked at it from another angle, this might be a blessing. With such a powerful human on their side, they could easily trample over those alien races who enslave and consume humans, especially the high and mighty dragons.

With that thought, a decision began to form in his mind.

"Vamirinen, what is the name of the member of the 'Foresight' who destroyed the ruins? Why has the Empire received no intelligence on such an individual?" Jircniv asked the secretary.

"Your Majesty, the name of this powerful individual is Arche Eeb Rile Furt..." The secretary hesitated as he spoke, his voice shaky.

Hearing this name, Fluder, whose emotions had been stirring with excitement, suddenly froze, his previously expressionless face now filled with shock.

Jircniv also nodded thoughtfully. "Furt... I see. I understand now."

Jircniv was no stranger to the Furt surname. When he ascended to the throne, he had purged many of the nobility, and the Furt family had been one of those he had wiped out.

What was more important was that he knew Arche—she was actually well-known in the noble circles of the Empire.

At just a teenager, she had already been able to cast third-tier magic, and she possessed rare innate abilities. She was undoubtedly a genius among geniuses.

Even more importantly, she had once been the disciple of the Empire's strongest magic caster, Fluder Paradyne.

However, her power as described by the secretary was worlds apart from what he had expected, and this left Jircniv feeling a little bewildered.

"Old man, what do you think of this?" Jircniv looked at Fluder, who was still stunned, his gaze filled with a hint of curiosity. But Fluder's response did not come immediately.

"Old man?" Jircniv called again, but his tone held no impatience.

Finally, Jircniv's second call snapped Fluder out of his stupor, and he slowly turned his gaze toward the Emperor.

"Your Majesty, Arche Eeb Rile Furt was indeed once a disciple of mine. I had hoped she would surpass me, but I never expected her to reach the level of the Six Great Gods. That was simply impossible," Fluder said in a low voice, stroking his long beard.

"Then that means..." Jircniv's eyes flashed with a sharp light.

"Yes, either someone is deliberately pretending to be Arche, but the likelihood of that is incredibly low, almost negligible. The other possibility is that something unknown has happened to Arche, drastically increasing her magical power by an unimaginable amount," Fluder said, his voice growing fervent, his face filled with an almost fanatical expression.

Seeing Fluder's reaction, Jircniv wasn't surprised. If the old man hadn't reacted this way, it would have been strange indeed.

However, what he didn't know was that, long ago, Fruda had already betrayed him once.

As an emperor, Jircniv was highly competent and among the top intellectuals in this world.

However, because he trusted Fruda, the Empire's chief court magician, so much, he had been led by him to become a stepping stone for Nazarick to present itself to the world.

Fruda's loyalty to the Baharuth Empire was unquestionable, but compared to his lifelong aspiration, the empire seemed insignificant.

Arche's actions had directly destroyed the plans of both Ainz and Fruda. It could be said that Arche was the savior of the Baharuth Empire.

"By the way, why did Arche become a worker? With her strength, she could have made a great name as an adventurer, right?" Jircniv once again asked his secretary, Baziwood, who was still kneeling on the ground.

"It is said that after her family lost their noble status, they continued to squander money recklessly, accumulating a massive debt. Miss Arche became a worker in order to quickly earn money to pay off her parents' debts," Baziwood replied.

After a pause, he continued, "However, about two or three months ago, Miss Arche repaid all the debts her parents owed. After leaving enough money, she severed ties with her parents and took her two younger sisters with her."

Jircniv nodded. Initially, he had planned to restore her family's title as a gesture of goodwill toward Arche, but now it seemed unnecessary.

He then turned to Fruda, who had regained his composure, and smiled. "Old man, would you be interested in taking me to meet your former disciple?"

"Of course, Your Majesty," Fruda replied.

Arche and her two younger sisters were now living in a house still within the capital of the Baharuth Empire, though it was quite far from their old home.

As long as they didn't wander the entire city, the chances of running into their parents were very slim.

After Arche had repaid all her parents' debts, she immediately proposed to her two younger sisters, Ureirika and Kuuderika, that they leave their family.

But the Furt couple, who had treated Arche as their cash cow, refused without hesitation. They scolded Arche harshly, citing their "noble upbringing" as the reason.

However, once Arche showed them a large sum of gold coins, they gladly agreed to her request.

Considering she might invite some members of the chat group over for a visit, Arche used the money to buy a mansion no less impressive than the one they had previously lived in, after leaving the castle-like home.

The original owner of this mansion was also a noble, who, like Arche's parents, had been stripped of their title by the "Bloody Emperor" Jircniv. The mansion had been sold to survive, unlike Arche's parents, who had clung to it in an effort to maintain the dignity of their noble status.

At this moment, in the mansion's hall, apart from Arche and her two sisters, and the three guests—Imina, Hekkeran, and Roberdyck—who had stayed the night, there were five other stunning figures.

They were Eriri, Ophis, Scarlet, Milim, and Kohina.

After watching Arche's live stream the previous day, Eriri had gotten the idea to visit the Overlord world. She immediately told Arche about her plan in the chat group.

The next day, after breakfast, Eriri brought Ophis and the others to Arche's home.

As for why she brought Ophis, Scarlet, and Milim—who were either dragons or had dragon blood—it was not because of the existence of the dragon race in the Overlord world; it was purely a coincidence.

Milim, during her time in the "Oregairu" world, had been having an absolute blast, but at Eriri's request, she hadn't caused any significant damage to the buildings in the city.

When she saw that Eriri wanted to visit Arche's world, Milim immediately shouted that she wanted to go too, and so, that was how the current situation arose.

As for Kohina, just as Eriri had decided earlier, she kept her by her side. Regarding Kohina's schooling, she simply made it a system where she could go if she wanted, or skip it if she didn't.

"Eriri, let me introduce you. These are my best friends in this world: Imina, Hekkeran, and Roberdyck."

Although Arche knew that Eriri was not unfamiliar with Imina and the others, she still made a point to introduce them.

As for why they were her "best friends in this world," that was because, in other worlds, the members of the chat group and she had even closer relationships.

If Imina and the others were like older siblings to Arche, Eriri and the others were already like inseparable family.

Then, Arche introduced Eriri and the others to Imina and the others, and after the introductions, Imina and the others quickly greeted Eriri.

"Hello, are you Lady Eriri? We heard about you from Arche yesterday."

When Eriri appeared, Imina and the others appeared quite nervous. They even spoke with noticeable restraint.

Earlier, when they first saw Eriri, they were stunned for quite a while. After marveling at Albedo's beauty the day before, they had been amazed, but seeing Eriri's unparalleled beauty now left them utterly astonished.

Of course, their nervousness wasn't just because of Eriri's looks, but more importantly, because of her strength.

When Arche had spoken to Imina and the others about the things that had happened to her, as well as about the chat group, she had briefly mentioned the members and their capabilities.

Thus, Imina and the others knew that the delicate-looking beauty before them was someone who possessed the terrifying power to destroy the universe with a single blow.
