The SSS Legendary Dragon Chose Me On Rebirth

Chapter 183: decrees

At the end they both went their separate ways.

Vacuse went with the Morrowling, and when Eloryna saw him she shouted and insisted that he was hers and that he should leave him. She wanted to use the Iron Knight to get him, but that was one thing that Vacuse was insisting on.

In fact, he took all the slaves with him, and the Iron Knight let him simply because he deemed it Vacuse's right for bursting the Ash Rats.

Eloryna left sullen and angry, but she dared not do anything, not when there was a Sovereign Ascended right there.

Vacuse left for his own territory with a troubled mind as well. Although he had gained a lot through the Ash Rats, he was weary of the Iron Knight.

He was the first Sovereign Ascended that Vacuse would be meeting, after all. Jellyfish did not count because the bastard hid his power too much for him to feel anything.

And Drenvar... he was not a full Sovereign Ascended yet.

Looking at one, Vacuse finally understood what power felt like. It was as if he were in the presence of something more, somehow inhuman.

It felt like a Titled Monster.

And that, and more, was what Vacuse was aiming for: to reach the point where he could control his own life. But when would he reach that point? Even the Void Dragon was chained by things more powerful than him, and the Dragon was the most powerful being that he had ever met.

Vacuse's eyes gleamed. He was excited and weary.

Would he ever reach such a height?

Then he sighed when he saw the castle.

One step at a time.

Had he ever imagined he could be where he was? He had taken it one step at a time, and here he was.

Fortunately, no one had died during the battle, and that was because the Iron Knight intervened at the last moment. From what Kagerou reported, the four Soulbearers that followed Eloryna were not that simple.

In fact, a single Soulbearer could somehow make multiple clones of itself, and although they were weaker than the original, it had made up to thirty during their fight.

Right now Vacuse was with Harkon, Kagerou, and Captain Amros. They stood in front of the castle.

"I want you to kill all the attendants of Lord Joryth Mveil. All of them. Also, confine his family. No, send them to Kragthar; let my aunt deal with them. Send them together with the slaves."

Vacuse frowned. "Also, I want you to carry out a manhunt on all the gangs in this city. Kill them all. Wait."

Vacuse smiled. It was cold and sinister. "I think I now know what the entrance test for my recruitment will be. Kagerou, get me the list of all the gangs and their members.

"Those who want to participate in the tournament can hunt these members. Each head carries five points. The first one hundred with the most points would be deemed qualified for the tournament, no matter their ranks, power, or skills. If they do not meet my qualification, then I do not need them."

They stared at him, stunned.

Kagerou was the first to react, and he hesitated a little. "Vacuse, isn't this a little too extreme? You are going to turn the city into a bloodbath. Besides, isn't a hundred too few?"

Vacuse looked at him calmly. "The city was already a bloodbath; I was just going to add a little more. Besides, I do not want quantity, just quality. I need the best of the best, those who stand above the absolute best.

"Don't worry. I'll hand the rest over to Drenvar or the regional army."

Kagerou blinked and shrugged. "I guess that could work. One Soulbearer that can destroy dozens instead of dozens that cannot destroy ten."

Harkon grimaced. "Then what about those who have the skills but do not get the required points? Won't that rob you of some genius?"

Vacuse snorted. "I am the Dragon heir. I won't accept anyone who can't or won't follow simple instructions. And what type of genius can exist when I am here? Anyone who wants to join me must learn the art of submission."

Harkon bowed. "Yes, my lord. But why don't you make the points a bit more flexible? Say the leader of a gang has twenty points; base them on the level of importance."

Vacuse looked at him and then nodded. "Very well. Harkon, you will be responsible for something like that. In fact, you are responsible for collecting and allocating the points. Kagerou, work together to achieve that."

"But your protectio—" Harkon took a deep breath.

Vacuse stopped him with a raised hand, his face cold. "Harkon, Kagerou. Right now you are nothing more than honor guards. If you want to protect me, then get stronger fast. Make use of the Great Dungeon."

The two of them bowed and went to start what they had been commanded to do. What else could they do? They were far too weak for Vacuse; he only needed them as attendants to carry out his commands.

Vacuse finally turned to Captain Amros. "Form an independent guard of five to always look after the Morrowling. They must protect him at all times and not concern themselves with anything else.

"Also, the guards have absolute authority over the Morrowling. Treat him like a prisoner until we finish our business in Burnis City."

Captain Amros nodded. "Everything will be as you wish. Anything else?"

Vacuse frowned and looked at the golden ship that hovered motionless in the middle of the sky. "Yes. On no condition should anyone from our side cross over into Eastern Region territory. I will not take responsibility for such a thing."

Captain Amros hesitated. "Is the Iron Knight that terrifying?"

Vacuse smiled and shrugged. "Anything of power is terrifying to those weaker than it."

Captain Amros looked at him and his eyes flashed. "You are not terrified of me."

Vacuse raised his brows and chuckled. "Amros, we did not finish our duel, did we? But that was then. Maybe we will finish it before we leave this damned place."
