The Seduction System

Chapter 44: Gazelle Hunt #2

Leaving the Stardust Pavilion, the two walked towards the front of the mansion. Instructor Mo was calmly walking ahead with his hands tied behind his back. Baek Yisoo, on the other hand, was looking at the manual in his hand while wondering why Instructor Mo, who was known for his adherence to the rules, was giving him second-class techniques.

Because it was against the rules.

Instructor Mo suddenly stopped as they approached the first exit door. Baek Yisoo also stopped immediately and looked at the old man curiously.

"Are your enemies strong?"

Zzzz!

Baek Yisoo trembled when he heard Instructor Mo's sentence. The events of the past two days had left many scars not only on his body but also on his soul. From the outside, only a slight limp and a finger wrapped in a cloth could be seen.

But, although he didn't realize it, the air Baek Yisoo exuded had also changed a lot.

"Yes." Baek Yisoo said, trying to shake off his surprise. He had momentarily forgotten how experienced Instructor Mo was. In his eyes, he was no more than a child.

Instructor Mo looked at him for a moment and then looked away. He spoke with the humility that comes with knowledge and experience. "Murim is like a vast ocean with mysterious depths of gigantic waters. Here, estimating the number of mighty warriors is like counting the stars - infinite and unpredictable. The sword priests of Mount Hua, the flame keepers of the Sacred Fire, or the noble warriors of the Yoon Family... These immense centers of power resemble gigantic stars in the heavens. And among these stars, even the Baek Clan's name becomes a whisper, its existence ignored, like countless small stars in the sky..."

Mount Hua Sect, Mount Emei Sect, Sacred Fire Sect, and the Yun Family. The Baek Clan was literally nothing compared to these power centers. Although they wielded influence and power in Yulin City, when it came to the big waters outside Yulin City, their influence was that of a firefly.

Baek Yisoo was thinking of an organization comparable to these huge power centers, but far more dangerous.

'There's no sign of it yet, though. Maybe they won't bother with me.'

Maybe he was overthinking it.

"I appreciate your kindness, master..."

Baek Yisoo bowed respectfully towards Instructor Mo. Even though the wound on his chest was extremely painful, he managed to ignore it.

Instructor Mo didn't stand there any longer, he turned around, ignoring Baek Yisoo's respect, and started walking towards the training ground. Baek Yisoo held his position until he left and then left the mansion.

He called for a carriage.

"To the Silvermoon Neighborhood, please."

Baek Yisoo took a deep breath and began to think about his next task, Tok Kyu-bok's house. Tok Kyu-bok was a man who far surpassed Baek Yisoo as a first-rate martial artist. The Waterway Escort Guild was one of the Baek Clan's revenue streams, and Tok Kyu-bok, who ran it, had almost as much authority as a mansion master.

It was a little suspicious when the system suggested he visit their home on the next mission. What could it have to do with Poison Shadow and his crew?

'One of the mission rewards is [Gazelle Hunt], which means there will be a new seduction target.'

Baek Yisoo stopped thinking about that and looked at the second-rate martial arts he had received from Instructor Mo. In the martial arts world, fighting techniques were categorized into certain classes. From what Baek Yisoo had learned in training, there were five classes.

The first of these was third-tier martial arts. These were techniques that provided basic physical strength, speed and endurance. They were taught to third grade martial artists to build a foundation. They were very easy to learn because the use of Qi was minimal.

Above the third tier were the second tier martial arts. There would be a slight increase in physical strength, speed and endurance. It would allow them to use Qi more effectively. They were the basic techniques taught to martial arts beginners. Usually the first stages of higher level techniques would be the second tier. The Long Fist Style, Turtle Shield Art and Waterfall Steps were second-tier martial arts.

After the second tier came the real martial arts, the first tier martial arts. Martial arts at this level were taught only to dedicated members of organizations. They could provide high levels of physical strength, speed and endurance. They also allowed the use of Qi in more complex and specific ways. First class martial arts could only show their true power in the hands of a Master. Weapon arts at this level allowed one to use the weapon in much more complex combinations. The White Water Way Spear Art was an example of a first-tier martial art.

Master-tier martial arts were advanced martial art techniques that could be the legacies of sects and clans. They were martial arts that required extraordinary physical and mental abilities. Because they were so difficult to master, there were very few who unleashed their true potential. Not only did it require a large amount of internal energy, but also the mental and physical strength to control it. Since it involved the cooperation of various Qi abilities, they could have miraculous effects.

In the Baek Clan, there was only one Master-tier skill. It was the White Waterway Sword Art. Baek Namwook, the patriarch of the Baek Clan, had developed this Master-tier martial art as a result of an enlightenment.

The White Waterway Spear Art used by Baek Yisoo and all the clan guards was derived from this Master-tier martial art.

Above the Master tier, as far as Baek Yisoo knew, the fifth class was the Sacred techniques. The Sacred Plum Blossom Sword of Mount Hua, the Sacred Taiji Art of Mount Wudang, the Golden Rod Art of the Shaolin Sect, or the White Lotus Sword of the Nine Lotus Temple were all at this level. The Sacred Fire Sect's Dragon Palm, the White Dragon Stance of the White Dragon School were also considered to be at this level.

In short, Sacred techniques were the cornerstone of great organizations.

The second-step techniques that Instructor Mo gave him were all considered second-tier martial arts. Flow Like Water, Basic Fist, Shield Stance and Stream were third-tier martial arts with minimal use of internal energy.

'I wonder if I can learn?

Each martial art could be learned at its own level. For example, first-class martial artists could not learn a Master-tier martial art. This is because there are limitations such as the amount of internal energy, physical and mental competence, Qi control or Qi ability.

Baek Yisoo was extremely confident except for the amount of internal energy. His physical strength was on par with the average second grade. Most martial artists would focus on their inner energy instead of improving their body. In terms of Qi control, he had no problem, because controlling Spring Qi was very simple.

'My inner energy is not enough.'

Baek Yisoo's thoughts were interrupted when the carriage suddenly stopped. When he came to his senses and got out of the carriage, he saw a peaceful scene. At a glance, the graceful lines of the house caught his attention; its curved sides rose into the sky, resembling the wings of a bird. The roof tiles were a reddish-brown shade that glistened in the sun, a sign of time and the seasons.

The walls were made of white earth, giving it a simple and serene air. Windows and doors were decorated with finely crafted wooden frames and covered with elegant paper panels. You could see the wooden furniture inside.

Baek Yisoo looked enviously at the wide veranda in front of the house. The Silvermoon Neighborhood was an area where Yulin City's officials and upper-middle-income people lived. Therefore, the streets were very clean and safe.

Baek Yisoo frowned when he realized that the task was not completed.

'Does he want me to go inside?

If he visited Tok Kyu-bok's house in this state, he would not only look very suspicious because they were not acquainted, but it could also backfire. At worst, he could die.

'I need an excuse!'

His eyes scanned around for a while.

'I've found it.
