Chapter 460: Something To Remember
[SICARIO]
As Hudhayfah walked away, Rukiya Greyson watched the park like there was something to hope for here. She missed Hawi no doubt and she hoped that she was doing okay in the faraway land, worrying about everyone else.
It wasn't the easiest thing to do in the realm but Rukiya was going to make sure it was worth it for Hawi. She would be there for support, and not just emotionally like had always been for Hawi.
This time, she would step up and help Hawi like Hawi would have helped her if the striations were reversed.

Hudhayfah was right. She needed to be the white wolf's mate. She needed to be the woman that everyone knew of and instead of hiding behind the shadow of the white wolf's mate that Hawi was always protecting.
Rukiya was going to keep her word and protect Hawi too.
She was going to make sure that no one hurt her woman again. It did matter how long it would take for them to get to the end of the chaos, but she would make sure that they all didn't step on her mate as anyone would think.
"For Hawi," Rukiya said as she looked at the sky one more time, before she began walking back to the pack house. She had to make sure she was as useful to her mate so that Hawi didn't always have to bear the burden of hell alone.
"Where's Drew?" Rukiya asked when she got to the alpha's office.
Elodie was still sitting there, wondering what the hell she needed to do next, they were all in a pickle because of the madness that was happening, but perhaps they had to bring their brains together this time, tight?
After all, there was no joy in suffering alone despite having a team that was open to helping at every chance that was.
"He's with the other sailors, probably cursing me out for the hundredth time in their head. What's up with you? You looked like you needed a lot of space earlier. Are you alright? Did Hawi do something?
"Did you guys have a fight that's why she sent you back? Is my sister okay? Should I be informed of something? Is she hurting? Is she alone? Why are you back home?
And why is she not here with you?" Elodie asked.
Each question that came from her lips was a harsh reminder that Rukiya Greyson hadn't been the best of mates out there, and that reality was not just some sort of a game that they needed to play but a life that had to be lived so carefully.
They had all been active participants in the mess, yet somehow, Hawi had taken the burden of it all. It wasn't the easiest of things but goodness, they should have been clearer with each other right?
"I'll be honest with you, because you're her sister. Nothing is okay. My baby is out there with Malika, fighting the impossible and while she can win, it will take a lot of time. Like fifty years long. And frankly, I am not a patient woman.
"Which is why I need Drew and the sailors to tell me about the ship and why the feck Mbali was in there," Rukiya said and Elodie signed hopefully. She refused to believe that there wasn't hope, because with Hawi, there was always hope.
But what if Hawi was in danger, would they still have that hope? Would it make any sense to them at the end of the day, especially when they didn't have anything to hold on to anymore?
"Drew doesn't know anything. I asked him more than once and their stories check out each time no matter how high or sober we get them. So that's a dead end. What I don't understand is how Mbali got to the back of the ship.
"The ship exploded, while she was in there, and yet she had no marks on her body. It's like she was invincible from the very beginning. I have seen explosions in my time, and that was the king that would leave even my powerful sister with a few scars.
"But Mbali had none. She isn't breathing, and there is nothing that we haven't tried for her. The result remains the same. I don't know whether she is dead—" Elodie stated as she looked at Rukiya who was listening intently.
The alpha didn't know what Rukiya was aiming for but it wouldn't be peaceful. Honestly, Elodie almost felt bad for Drew because Rukiya was crazier than she was and more powerful not to mention very unhinged than normal people.
However, in her rant, she was interrupted by the psycho before her, almost like this was some sort of an epiphany. But was that it for them?
"Or she is being protected… Damn Elodie, you're a genius!" Rukiya completed Eldie's sentence and the alpha looked at her like she had gone bonkers. Perhaps this was the side effect of hanging around Hawi for the longest time, right?
"I'm confused. Isn't Mbali always protected?" Elodie asked, as she tried to make sense of everything that was happening. It was all so wild and insane that it wasn't even making any sense. But at the same time, it was interesting to say the least.
Each day they were discovering new things about the lives they led and it was worth more than they could ever be able to think of. The fact that they had all been protected was a no-brainer, but then came the question of what happened that day.
"She is. She always is. But then there is only one protective bond that could overrun the sibling bond and make sure that nothing ever happens to the person under that protection bond," Rukiya said and Elodie's eyes brightened.
"Amina Russel. She must have protected Mbali and made sure she was safe. But if that was her intention, why the hell would she send her to a ship that would explode the moment they reached the Sicario barriers?
"It just makes no sense because Malika would have decided to come along if she knew that her sister was here. What the hell is going on, Rukiya? What are we truly dealing with this time?" Elodie asked.
She had seen chaos for the past years but she was slowly learning that each day demanded that they get to experience crazier things by the day.
It wasn't what anyone would imagine and it was somewhat pitiful how desperate they were for freedom that they were giving up everything in the process. But then what was the use when it would only thrust them into deeper madness than they ever anticipated then?
"Hear me out… I know what I might be saying is crazy, hell it doesn't sound real to me. But what if Amina knew what her siblings were planning, and didn't want her mate to get hurt in the process?
"We have all seen Amina get all protective over Mbali, she almost started a fight with Maika for the sake of Mbali. So, what if this was her attempt at saving Mbali? After all, is there any place right now that could be safer than Sicario?
"She made sure her mate would stay out of the battlefield so that she wouldn't have to worry about Mbali being used against her. But the only question is, why did Amina go to such great lengths for Mbali?" Rukiya asked while Elodie listened intently.
