Chapter 7: The battle has come to a conclusion
The two sides fought fiercely, neither gaining the upper hand. Over time, both began to weaken, their bodies covered in countless wounds and blood. Once again, they stood facing each other in the air. Nghịch Mệnh pressed his left hand tightly against the bleeding gash in his chest. Suddenly, he relaxed that arm, his other hand still gripping the Qi Pillar tightly, then pointed the sword straight up to the sky. He swung the sword in an arc from left to right above his head. From the sky, a gigantic tear appeared, within which was... the vastness of space. Both of them looked up at the enormous tear, and something very large fell from it. It was a part of the body of Khát Khao that had not yet dissipated.
Nghịch Mệnh: "I don't like eating corpses, but you forced me to do this."
He accelerated and flew straight towards that part of the body.
Control : "You want to? Not a chance!"
Control used her six arms to weave a net of azure blue and then threw it. The net flew straight towards Nghịch Mệnh and the corpse, growing larger by the moment, enough to nearly cover the entire tear. Nghịch Mệnh turned around, swung his sword downward, the slash and the net passed through each other, cutting through his body without causing any damage. That was when he realized that the recent attack wasn't aimed at him. He turned to look up, the body part was being shredded into countless pieces, gradually disappearing.
Nghịch Mệnh: "What have you done?" (He shouted angrily)
Control : "Do you think shouting will make me tell you?" (she teased)
As the battle continued, Zebraem and Diego remained in the air, keeping a safe distance to avoid stray attacks. Suddenly, Diego sensed a faint presence in the distance.
Diego: "Do you feel anything, Zeb?"
Zebraem: "Yes."
Diego: "What do you feel?"
Zebraem: "He just took a hit."
Diego: "No! That's not it. I mean that kind of feeling." (Diego explained)
Zebraem: "I feel pain for him."
Diego: "Damn! No, not that, man!" (his tone grew more blunt)
Zebraem: "Then what is it?!!! You keep asking without clarifying!"
Diego: "Look over there at the other shore! That faraway place. Focus your senses on that spot."
Zebraem concentrated on the direction Diego pointed, pouring all his effort into sensing.
Diego: "What's going on? Do you see anything?"
Zebraem: "No."
Diego: "Man!! Are you blind?"
Zebraem: "Not everyone can see like you!! My sensing ability isn't that far-reaching. Are you looking for trouble?"
Diego: "Ah, ah, sorry!! Let me share my vision and feelings. What now?"
Zebraem: "I see it!! Huh?!!!" (he was surprised)
Diego: "So, do you think like I do?"
Zebraem paused for a moment before speaking.
Zebraem: "I want to confirm it. Let's go!"
The two flew towards that cliff. After more than half an hour, they finally arrived. From a distance, Idalia saw two figures flying towards her, but the pain prevented her from moving. Moments later, the two figures appeared before her. One looked like a demon from hell, scaring her. Meanwhile, the other resembled a human, except she could see a simmering rage in his eyes.
Diego: "An angel! But why does the aura feel oddly familiar? Is there anyone in our group who is of the angelic race?" (Diego looked at her intently, puzzled)
Zebraem: "Of course not! Angels have always opposed us since the dawn of creation when demons and angels were formed. How could someone like you say such a thing, Die?"
Diego: "I misspoke! Who doesn't know that!"
Idalia: "Who are you two?!!!" (Idalia struggled to speak through the pain)
Diego: "We are servants of the God."
Zebraem: "Take her away; she might be related to him."
Zebraem reached out to grab her and take her away. But in an instant, they were knocked back by a powerful gust of wind, and a woman appeared, whisking Idalia away in a flash. Zebraem was thrown aside, using his hands to scrape the ground to pull himself back, while Diego was knocked into the sea.
Zebraem: "It's her!!! We must go back! He might be in danger, Die!"
He shouted and then flew back at his highest speed towards the island. Diego gradually resurfaced, struggling to rise from his injuries, mustering all his strength to fly back. When they arrived at the door, they saw Nghịch Mệnh sitting on the ground, one leg propped up, the other stretched out, his left hand supporting his body while his right hand was pressed against his chest, breathing heavily and trembling slightly. The two rushed over, asking Nghịch Mệnh what happened. But he said:
Nghịch Mệnh: "Take me... closer to the door." (his voice was very weak)
Zebraem and Diego helped him up and assisted him to the door. When they reached it, Nghịch Mệnh took out a scroll and a rectangular box from his body and handed it to Diego. He instructed him with a few words before opening the door. Inside the door was a red curtain rippling like waves; he stepped inside with his wounds, dragging himself slowly, and then gradually disappeared behind that curtain.
Diego: "We should inform the others about everything that has happened and call them back here. We will hold a meeting, and then I will disclose what he instructed."
Zebraem: "I want to find that woman. She must be severely injured as well."
Diego: "No, Zeb!! Those at the same level as him are not enemies we can face at this moment, no matter how badly they are injured. Contact Zolrak; I will reach out to the others."
Zebraem clenched his fists but nodded in agreement.
At that same moment, hundreds of kilometers away from the island, Chi Phối was holding Idalia in her arms and flying away.
Idalia: "Mom's wounds are still bleeding! Stop! Mom!" (she tried to warn her mother in worry)
Control continued to fly without responding to Idalia, no matter how hard she tried to speak to her. Moments later, the altitude of their flight decreased until they finally fell into a flower field in a valley far from the island. Idalia was thrown aside but quickly ran back to where her mother lay motionless on the ground. The pain within her had faded, but at that moment, she could focus on nothing else; she rushed to embrace her mother and burst into tears. She begged her not to die and to stay by her side. She looked at her mother's face, which seemed to want to say something to her but couldn't. When she looked down and witnessed the bleeding gash in her mother's throat, she realized that was why her mother couldn't speak. Chi Phối weakly held Idalia's hand, placing a silver bracelet adorned with several red gems on it. Then she raised her hand to stroke her daughter's cheek one last time before slipping away, leaving her poor daughter alone and heartbroken in this world. Her mother's body grew cold and then dissipated into nothingness. The bloodstains on her body and face gradually faded along with her mother. She clutched the bracelet tightly to her chest and cried.
Idalia: "What can I do now? Mom... is dead. What should I do? I want to go back to that planet to see everyone again, to see Lin." (thinking)
Suddenly, a thought flashed through her mind.
Idalia: "Is it just a matter of him dying for everything to be resolved?" (thinking)
