Chapter 356: Strategizing With The Immortals
Listen While Reading: Apocrypha

Yu had finally begun to open up with me, and she decided to talk things out with me, which surprised me a bit at the start, honestly.
"Hm, I've been thinking about what to do with my life so far. What I want to do… And after seeing what happened and how you all succeeded, I kind of got emotional about everything..." she muttered. "As a fragment of her memories and will, I also share her experiences. The pain she felt with those nanomachines, for example. So I also felt relieved, even when I didn't have them on my own, when she was healed."
"Uh-huh," I nodded attentively.
"And this feeling of relief... It kind of made me rethink many things, you know," she muttered. "And it made me realize that this world is really nice, and I want to explore it. But with everything going on, that's just impossible… I want to save this world as well, so I want to help, Anna… Um, s-so that's it! Okay? I want to help…"
"Hehehe! I see!" I giggled slightly cockily. "That took you quite a while to say, huh? You're truly a tsundere."
"W-What is a tsundere anyways?" she asked angrily. "Sara said the same thing about me before!"
"Oh, so she knows," I laughed.
"W-What does she know?!" Yu got cutely angry. "Ugh, anyways! I-I just wanted to say that I want to join you and fight together with you, ok?! So let me help you…" she blushed a bit.
Oh my god, this little white crane was too cute!
I wanted to fluff her feathers.
They must be even softer than my mama's feathers, as she's a much younger chick.
They would be as soft as Song, perhaps.
Oh, his feathers are so soft, like cotton!
…
Ahem!
Okay, let's not think about these things.
"Ah, sure!" I nodded. "Of course, Yu. You're welcome to fight by my side if you want."
I extended my hand towards her for a handshake.
She looked at my hand nervously, blushing even more.
"T-That's… you want a handshake? Isn't this a bit…"
"Come on! We're friends, right?"
"I-I never said you were my friend…!"
"So I'm not?"
"Ah…! Geez! I suppose it cannot be helped! If you so desperately want to be my friend, I guess I'll have to give you that favor!"
Hahah, I can't believe how I just predicted that line in my head.
Then she gave me a handshake while averting her gaze from me, but she still glanced at me; her eyes didn't lie; she was very happy.
"Good," I nodded, petting her head. "Fluffy."
"F-Fluffy?! Don't touch my feathers!" She grew embarrassed, pecking my head.
"Ouch, ouch! S-Sorry!" I giggled.
"Haha, alright, shall we go eat something, though? You especially should eat a lot, Anna," said Sara. "I'm worried about your health; you slept for over 12 hours, you know? You need to eat something."
"EH?!" I gasped. "Damn… Okay, let's go eat ASAP."
We moved towards the big group, passing by many immortals and mortals talking as if they had been friends forever.

It seemed that the news about both Venerables recovering was something so big they even had to set aside their differences.
And even immortals allowed mortals to treat them as equals, despite there being this weird hierarchy where mortals cannot dare speak with the divine immortals or whatever.
"Oh! Anna! There you are!" the Heavenly Empress called me.
She looked radiant! Much more… I don't know, alive?
Her aura was overflowing with light, divine heavenly light, and I could immediately feel sprinkles of Dao Essence within her.
She had truly recovered and was looking extremely well and healthy!
"Mom! I'm glad you're doing alright!" I hugged her. "You look so radiant too!"
"Oh my, thank you," she giggled. "I didn't think the first thing you would say to your mother was flatter her beauty… Fufu."
"You're very pretty," I nodded. "Of course I would. Anyways, nothing wrong so far? And don't lie to me to act strong, okay?"
"I won't lie to you," she smiled. "I. Am. Fine."
She spun around, releasing an aura of light and divinity.
She was indeed healthier than ever before, more energetic too.
It was as if she had suddenly become younger, to an extent.
"I'm so happy!" I sighed, feeling relieved. "Finally… we finally got this huge thing done."
"Honestly, I never imagined it could be possible," suddenly, I heard a deep voice behind.
It was the Heavenly Demon, my grumpy adoptive father.
However, he didn't look angry at all.
He was happy, with a calm smile.
His aura was similar to my mom's, but of course, with some differences, as it felt like a constant robe of shadows wrapped around him.
"You look great too! Feeling better?"
"Yeah," he nodded. "I feel younger even. I feel… calmer as well. My rage has settled down. But my powers have not disappeared; if anything, they have strengthened. I always thought that once my rage was left behind, I would become weak. But that seems to be the contrary. The Cursed Seals… they change alongside the wielder, like it happened with you."
"Indeed!" I nodded. "See? See? You can think more positively and be nicer! The world can only start improving when you start making a change after all."
"Haha, such a corny thing to say, my daughter," he laughed. "Don't think I've changed though! I am still the same as always!"
"He definitely isn't," my mother whispered in my ear.
"Aha," I giggled. "Alright then, mister never changes; let's have a feast! I'm starving too!"
"Anna!"
Song quickly came flying down to me, using his ability to float.
"You're here! Let's eat, big sis!"
He hugged my belly happily.
"Song! Of course, let's celebrate!"
With everyone together, we shared a delicious meal, a feast of all sorts of meats and vegetables roasted and grilled on enormous grills built with the highest quality materials.
Even the fire was conjured using special Dark Star Mountain Coal, leaving a delicious smoky flavor to the meat, which was further improved with the delicious spices added that are unique to this world.
This world's food is so extremely good and flavorful that I might end up getting tired of the food back home once I return, ugh…
The celebrations continued for hours and hours until it was getting darker. I took this opportunity to talk with a lot of new people.
Mortals that thanked me for everything I've done, immortals that saw my potential and welcomed me as a new immortal in the world of cultivation, and more.
I even sparred with a couple of these immortals who wanted to test their abilities with me, and let's say I ended up cleaning the floor with all of them, who were mostly all the demonic cultivators who were the cockiest.
Eventually, I went to sleep after eating a lot and doing so much, and the next morning arrived.
Time was ticking, and we needed to quickly get to work.
The celebrations were beautiful; I remember there were even fireworks!
But we can't just bask in the glory of our success and just pretend the world around us doesn't exist forever.
"The Second Mechanical Tree…"
The tree located inside of the Island of Yin Dragon, where the Heavenly Demon's cult was taking refuge, was now right in front of us.
We stepped out of the golden portal from mom's Inner Realm, as she came along this time with the Heavenly Demon.
The two of them were watching from afar, without intervening yet.
This time, we decided that they would only watch for now; they were our trump cards, and throwing them into the frontlines wouldn't be efficient after all.
And also, they needed more meditation and time to get used to their now healed bodies.
A small camp had already been set up by the demonic immortals, who greeted us. They had decided to fight alongside us after we talked yesterday, and I convinced them by winning them all in a battle royale match.
Zero One and Zero Two were there in the camp, talking with the immortals and preparing their strategy. Apparently, due to the aggressiveness of their attacks against the robots compared to the other island, the robots here had been progressively evolving and getting tougher.
I can tell; the factory I destroyed back then had very strong monsters, incredibly tough ones that took me a long while to beat.
Now imagining what else could have evolved from them makes me rather nervous, but at the same time, it's not like I am despairing or something.
"We'll first convince the robots that we come in peace and make an agreement with those that want to come along."
"Are you serious? Will that even work, machine Missy?"
"It worked before! I am an example of that. Don't question my sister. She knows what she's doing."
"Hmph… Usually, us demonic cultivators wouldn't even obey anyone's commands, but things have gotten desperate."
Some very talkative immortals were giving their opinions. One of them was a monkey man, and the other was a one-eyed Black cat woman.
"I'm here," I stepped forward. "Can I see the map you've made? How many defensive forces have they prepared already?"
"They had already realized we're up to no good, Anna," said the monkey-man, whose name was actually Saru Do. "There are over five thousand defensive troops around the tree, another three thousand in the skies, and they got all new models, stronger than anything we've seen before."
"I see…" I nodded. "Hmm! Good thing we got our own army as well, right?"
It was time to make good use of the power of a Necromancer.
