The Princess Doesn't Want A Harem

Chapter 20: The Beauty Is Graceful

Even without the marriage proposal, she didn't want to have a harem anymore. She was a modern woman.

"That's not it. I just feel that you guys aren't comfortable being locked up here all year round. It's better if I let you go, though my heart is unwilling," she feigned a look of reluctance, not wanting to seem heartless for suggesting something like this.

Star clearly saw through her pitiful act. "Who is uncomfortable? Clearly, you're the one who has gotten tired of playing!"

Ah, don't make her sound like that kind of person. She was also a victim in this. She never expected to get struck by lightning and end up in this place, certainly not in the body of a Casanova princess who liked collecting beauties.

"Well, just think about it first," Kira said with a sense of urgency. Thinking that the reason they might not want to leave the palace was related to money, she even generously offered, "I'll give you all as much money as you want."

She was a princess of a country, so surely she must have a lot of money. Even if she didn't, there were still the expensive clothes and jewelry collecting dust. She'd just sell them and settle these guys. Such a good idea.

Star only saw that this woman was anxious to send them away, probably because she wanted to linger in the arms of that treacherous Demon Prince Lu Sin. In the end, this wench's heart was so fickle! Once she saw something more attractive, she would immediately discard her previous playthings. So damn heartless!

He felt so angry that he laughed out, venom almost spilling from his voice. "You cheap woman."

"Who are you calling cheap?" Kira was angered by the insult. "I'm only trying to help!"

"Is it? Or are you afraid Demon Prince Lu Sin wouldn't want you after finding out how many men you've been involved with?" Star laughed darkly. He was just taunting her, of course; he knew very well that the princess hadn't been intimate with any man in the harem—well, unless... He eyed Moon hatefully.

Kira didn't know what Star was thinking; she only felt that she was being slut-shamed. She, who was an innocent virgin, how could she simply handle this grave insult! She was even more determined now to chase them all out; who knew what other people outside would think of her?

Just then, a eunuch rushed forward. "Princess!" He had come running all the way from the main imperial palace, his face was flushed, and he was finding it hard to catch his breath. "The...King...he..." His words were uttered brokenly, and the three people couldn't piece together what the eunuch was saying. "The Demon Venerable's procession has arrived in the palace! The King asks that the princess should be dressed in fine clothing and be present to welcome them."

There was a prolonged silence that filled the small courtyard. The eunuch had been too panicked at that time to control his volume; his words were said very loudly, and almost everyone in the courtyard had heard what was being said.

All eyes turned to the princess, waiting to see how she would react.

Kira, who suddenly became the center of attention, was baffled. Wasn't she just trying to get rid of one problem? How come another one came rearing its head again!

Her mind quickly flashed back to what Evelyn and Bloom had said about the Demon Prince the other day, and her body went weak.

"Princess, you need to get ready fast! We can't keep the Lord Venerable waiting," the eunuch urged her upon seeing she wasn't reacting. If they displeased the Demon King, then there was no telling what kind of bad fortune would befall the kingdom.

It was said that Demon Lord Lu Wentian was born with a black heart; killing people wasn't a big deal to him. He had wiped out multiple kingdoms who had offended him in the past without even batting an eye. His son was even darker and uncontrolled. It was too unfortunate that their princess had caught the eye of such dangerous tigers!

Moon, always the responsible one, stepped forward. "Bring maids to help the princess dress." He then gestured at Star to follow him out. Surprisingly, the princess, who had just been about to send him out of the palace, held his sleeve, her eyes pleading.

"Moon, how about you help me plead with my father. Please! I don't want to..."

"Hehe, treacherous woman, is it that you don't want to meet your future husband? Want us to stay?" Star taunted. "Too bad. Tonight, we must leave the palace!" He then grabbed Moon and pulled him away. Moon gave her an apologetic look but didn't linger in the courtyard.

Within just a blink of an eye, the courtyard, which had been buzzing with several servants and her consorts, was now deserted, with only the kneeling eunuch and two female servants lingering behind.

Kira felt that her life was truly miserable. Out of thirty-five men, none of them had stayed behind! Ah, the betrayal...

---

Within the Imperial Palace, a majestic figure sat on the Dragon Throne. His golden hair was held by a jade crown in the shape of a phoenix, his golden robes had intricate designs that drew the eyes of those around him.

Due to how wealthy Fynyatte was among the other kingdoms, not only were the palace walls built with gold and its ground polished with expensive jade, but even the clothing worn by the royal family was enough to make a poor man exclaim.

The King sat imposingly, his golden eyes fixed on the guests below. The aura in the room was so imposing that even the servants who stood aside, waiting to serve food and drinks to the guests, were sweating in fear.

The Demon Lord sat on a royal chair, carved from expensive jade. He had sharp, refined features, with a strong jawline and high cheekbones that gave him an intense, imposing look. His skin was pale, contrasting with his long, flowing hair, which was dark with hints of deep red at the edges, cascading around his face and down his shoulders. His eyes were narrow and piercing.

On his forehead was a crimson mark shaped like a lotus. His expression was playful, and on his lips was a faint smile that contrasted vividly with the dangerous aura around him.

Those who saw the Demon Venerable for the first time couldn't help but sigh at the celestial beauty. Though he was thousands of years old, he still retained the appearance of a man in his late twenties.

But those who knew his reputation knew not to even breathe loudly in his presence. Thankfully, for some reason, the Demon Prince Lu Sin hadn't come with the procession. The prince was the one who was unrestrained and wild, killing without batting an eye. Like father, like son, they say, the demonic duo.

"The princess is quite a character, to keep this lord waiting," Lu Wentian said, his voice light and playful.

But the servants around him shivered. Anyone with a common sense could see that the Demon Venerable was complaining. Who would have expected the princess to keep this kind of person waiting! Ah, it was too brave.

King Edge, unlike his servants didn't look intimidated. He took a sip of his tea and said casually " She and Prince Lu Sin are a bit alike " In other words, even the Demon Prince didn't bother showing up, so why should Lu Wentian get to complain.

The Venerable hummed, he had no interest to indulge in a conversation with this lowly King. He observed the Jade tea cup in his hand with boredom.

Just then, The Eunuch outside announced the arrival of the princess. Lu Wentian raised his eyes just as the figure in red stepped into the room.

A blossom rare as moonlit orchids, unfurls with grace unmatched. Skin smooth as the finest jade, gentle face holding the mystery of distant stars. Eyes deeper than midnight gardens, she walks like petals in spring breezes—a vision both fragile and eternal, crafted beyond mortal hands' touch.

Lu Wentian had heard a lot of Poetic pieces praising the beauty of this Princess. Even the most renowned Scholar in all the Kingdoms had claimed that there was no woman that could match the grace and beauty of the Golden Phoenix, Princess Kira of Fynyatte.

It had piqued his interest for quit a while, and eventually he'd decided to come see this majestic beauty himself.

Just as he lifted his eyes to watch, The beauty who was about to walk pass his table stumbled forward clumsily and nearly fell on her face.
