Chapter 19: Disperse That Harem!
"Where else are we to stay?" The Star says with a scoff. "The Moonlite Pavilion is completely demolished."
"It will only be for a few days," Moon chipped in, though he looks very content in her bed.
Kira had spoken with the Head Eunuch last night; according to him, there were other Courtyards where her consorts could reside for the time being until a proper arrangement could be made. With her level of power, the servants were sure to treat her belongings with care.
But now the princess's consorts would rather reside with her, though the Eunuch found it very inappropriate; when faced with these fiery men, he could only agree to bring them here, or he feared he might not live to see the next day.
When faced with these two men first thing in the morning, Kira couldn't hide her embarrassment. She was only dressed in her thin inner robes, which didn't leave much to the imagination. Her appearance was no doubt in disarray, but what bothered her the most was the fact that she had awakened in their embrace.
Who knows how long they've been touching her! It was completely inappropriate. She hurriedly got out of bed, dragging a layer of the bedding along with her.
"I'll speak with the Eunuch later. You guys don't need to come to me at all." When seeing The Star, her expression darkened. "Change back! If you take on that form again, there will be consequences."
"I thought you quite liked this form."
"Do you even know what you are saying?! Nonsense! Pure garbage!"
"Is it nonsense? I happen to remember you always looking at the King like this." Star lowered his eyes; his long lashes formed a canopy over his eyes. His real appearance was stunning, but most of the time he chose to dress like a woman, which not only baffled the princess but also made her uncomfortable.
Even though she liked beautiful men the most, she simply couldn't stand the Star's strange obsession with her father's appearance. In the past, he had tried to seduce her like that, and it caused her to grow wary of him. Of course, Kira didn't know about this, though she found it strange that such a handsome man would choose to dress like a woman even though he was straight; she was still from the future and knew about the concept of cross-dressing males.
But still, she found the Star very odd. The look he gave her was clearly full of flirtatious intent. He was implying that the real princess had some kind of impure thoughts toward her own father. It made Kira's blood run cold just at the thought. Wasn't this incest?! Could it be that incest was also acceptable in this world due to the low population of women?
"I said stop it!"
Seeing her so flustered, Star didn't continue his teasing anymore. He changed back to his real appearance; his golden hair turned dark, and his appearance became more alluring. He buried himself beneath the sheets, making it look like he was about to go back to sleep.
Moon watched their interaction with disinterest. He seemed to be in deep thought and didn't even notice the princess trying to sneak out of the room.
The moment Kira opened the door, she was greeted with a handsome figure. Who knew how long this person had been standing outside the door? She was stunned.
"Princess," the handsome man smiled at her, displaying a cute set of dimples on both sides of his cheek. "This humble Consort doesn't know how to thank you for saving my life yesterday."
"Oh, well, you don't need to thank me." After all, if I don't do it, then no one would. "I..." She was about to tell him not to worry himself about it, but suddenly another figure appeared in front of her, the person rushed here so quickly that she didn't even know which direction he had come from.
"Princess, I also want to give my thanks!"
"Well..."
"Me too! I want to thank the princess for saving me."
"Yes, yes, without the princess, we humble Consorts would have lost our lives for sure!"
These men seemed to be appearing from thin air! Within just a few minutes, she was almost surrounded by six men, all shoving each other just to stand closer to her. The expression on their faces was one of deep affection and worship. The princess looked so beautiful like this; this was the first time they were seeing her first thing in the morning.
Even without properly grooming herself, she was still breathtaking. They all wondered what it would feel like to hold her in their arms. Would her morning breath smell as fragrant as the roses that grew in the Courtyard?
Kira, who was looked at strangely by these men, was baffled, then she became scared. Ah! It felt like she had become a rabbit cornered by a bunch of tigers! Slowly, she retreated back into the room with the intention of slamming the door shut.
Who would have expected that the more she stepped back, the more these men walked forward? If she took even a step back, they would quickly follow, as if they feared that if they lost sight of her for even a minute, they wouldn't be able to see her again!
Oh no, this was too much. She wasn't used to getting so much attention before. Her whole life, she had always stood in the shadow of others. Now that she was being stared at like she was the moon itself, she simply didn't know how to handle it.
Just when she was about to call for help, a violent wind blew, and she was nearly swept off her feet by it. She only managed to hang on due to the body that hugged her from behind. The men outside weren't so lucky; they cried as they were blown away in different directions by the sword intent.
Some were lucky enough to land in the decorative pool in the courtyard, while others hung on trees like Christmas ornaments. In the end, they were all extremely pampered and didn't have a strong enough constitution to fight against the sword intent.
"Hmph," The Sun scoffed disdainfully as he put his sword back in its sheath. He only performed one move just now, and these weaklings were blown away. If he had done something more, they would have surely died. So weak! In the end, the Dragon Rider was really the only strong person in the palace. Now that he had been chased out, there was no one who could stand on par with him.
He glared hatefully at the woman who had dared to chase away his rival, wishing that he could cut her into pieces with his sword. He turned around and left.
Kira's body was trembling due to the murderous intent directed at her just now. She recognized the other man as the one who had saved her from drowning. After that incident, she barely had any interaction with him. Why did he look at her like that just now? Like he wanted to skin her alive?
It's really troublesome! Having all these men around was too troublesome. It turns out that Dae wasn't the only problem; if she wanted to live well, obviously she would have to disperse this harem as well.
"Princess, are you alright?"
"Moon, tell me, do you want to regain your freedom? Would you like to leave the palace?"
I'm sure you don't want to leave like this as well. Which man in his right mind would want to become a consort, always waiting on a woman and doing whatever she wanted? Men were independent creatures. Of course he would want to leave this place.
Moon's eyes widened in surprise; even the Star, who had been secretly indulging in sniffing the princess's bedding, sat up in shock. They both looked at Kira like she had suddenly grown two heads. What was this woman saying?!
"Princess..." Moon's eyes became icy. "Is it because you want to accept the marriage proposal, so you don't want us anymore?"
What? When exactly did she say that?! Who the hell said she was going to accept this marriage proposal?!
